Unkillable

37

Unkillable is the story of a young man who is cruelly murdered then brought back from the dead to revenge himself. The kicker is: He’s not really alive. He can be hurt; he just can’t be killed. It’s dark and funny and sad and beautiful and violent and magical — if it could be summed up with just a few words, there would have been no point in writing a novel.Unkillable. Life sucks. Death blows. In between is worse.

    This is a great book
The depth of character in this book makes you feel that it could be to you that this is happening. The protagonist isn’t perfect and has a bitter streak.

    I Love This Story
But then I’ve loved everything I’ve heard by this author!

    Particular Hardboiled Humor
If a guy making homophobic jokes and fat jokes and necrophilia jokes is your thing, this story is for you. Undead murder mystery ... not sure “mystery” is the right word, but it’s got enough in common with hard boiled detective pulps, it’ll communicate. Not really my jam, thus just the 3 stars.

Loved it... as usual for Maclean
Hilariously entertaining. It’s Monty Python meets modern reality in the dark ages. Even though I could only see Bartoc as Topper, I think it made it better, all the other characters were hilarious and easy to imagine. I have an affinity for how Maclean ends his books and this was no exception. Bravo 👏 and thank you, De Remy

    A great read
I really enjoyed this story. Great characters, interesting plot, and very good voice acting made it hard to stop listening. It's not a long book, but if you like a thriller, with a bit of humor, take the time to listen to this one.

    Great Overall!
I downloaded a few episodes to listen to casually at work, big mistake. I found myself wanting the next episode immediately. It's a great story, the production quality is very good, and it makes you want another one continuing the story after it's done. The author's voice is perfect and Patrick, I need another one, PLEASE!!!!!

    A solid novella
This is a short book, even for a novella. More like a long short story. You don't get a ton of episodes, and none are more than 15 minutes and some as short as 7. It's a fairly interesting story with a couple mild twists along the way. Interesting enough to keep listening, but not really a thrill ride or edge of your seat writing. That said, it's nothing you'll be raving about, and I found it instantly forgettable as soon as it was over. Production is good. Clear voice, no annoying intros/recaps.

    reverse order?
This is not about the content, but the way it's being published. Why are they in reverse order by date? When I play back the podcasts on my iPhone, it does the last first. Not so good when I'm trying to listen to multiple chapters while riding my bike or driving.

    Outstanding
This guy produces better podcasts than anyone, bar none. His stories are creative to the point I have to wonder if he's a genius or insane. His reading style is perfect too. He has a great voice and great timing.
