    Watch out for soy boys
Gary is the soy king of progressive issues but left his cat with strangers to be put down. MAGA.

They raise money for gender affirming care of 10 year olds
I enjoyed the show at first but slowly their twisted ideology kept being brought up (by them). They donate money to a gender affirming group that, per their website offer gender affirming counseling to KIDS AS YOUNG AS TEN… disgusting. Let kids be kids.

Fair and Interesting takes and reviews
Great listen, and constant reminder of my rose colored glasses.

duckfeed should stream more on twitch.
so good i often look for other podcasts like these two dudes and it’s a lost cause. about 50 percent of the time i disagree with their opinions on games eg: i think bomberman 64 is NOT just a mario 64 wannabe! but they do so much research and deep analyses, i always end up appreciating their perspectives. i only follow like 4 podcasts and this is one of them. check it out!

    Consistently Entertaining
Been listening since 2014 and just realized I never wrote a review. Gary and Kole are good podcasters and good people. Glad to see them have the kind of success they’ve earned over the years. On a side note the Patreon really is good value, there are a ridiculous number of shows worth looking into in addition to WOFF. Thanks again guys.

I love the content from these guys!
Gary and Kole’s content is always enjoyable. They make games far more fun for me to play through for many reasons. They are such stand-up guys, and they add a satisfying amount of depth and breadth for the topics they cover. Even when I occasionally disagree with something one of them thinks, they’re just so pleasant to listen to.

    It's very good
Highly recommend this and all of the other Duckfeed shows. Especially Everything to Guppy.

    Top Tier Deep Dives
Been listening for years, the hosts are great at what they do and keep things interesting. I enjoy learning and seeing the different perspectives they bring to the games they cover. One of the best gaming podcasts so check it out!

    Mixed review?
I’m conflicted! I’ve listened to watch out for fireballs & duckfeed for years. These are two very intelligent, driven dudes! They also strive to be a socially conscious force for good. This might be their Achilles heel. They often preseverate on straw men from their hyper online existences. They are very resistant to criticism & build up odd excuses for harmless questions. Gary in particular has a kind of bloodthirsty bent towards people who don’t have the same politics as him. He talks about how he agrees with a death sentence for ppl & idk, it seems very emotional.

    Bin Laden fans
It’s an anti American manifesto of a podcast. pro Weather Underground pro Bill Ayers pro 9/11 pro Khalil Sheik Muhammad. Unless you agree with all the above and hate white ppl I’d not bother here. No hearts or minds are changed just an echo chamber of Bin Laden talking points for other Bin Laden fans.

    Unique Perspective on Games
Both Butterfield and Ross have unique tastes in games, at least from my perspective. They have helped me broaden my love of games and helped me to appreciate what makes games I normally would not play good and fun to others. I think that some of their criticisms could rub people the wrong way so maybe this podcast will be difficult for you to listen to if you have a hard time hearing people speak poorly of games you love. But if you’re interested in entering into a more critical discussion of games I think you will be benefited by their perspective. Also they are fun!

Made me think about games in a new way
I’ve listened to these guys for a long time now and their angle of criticism has left a lasting mark on how I critique the games I play. Even though I don’t always agree, I appreciate their thoughtfulness and now I examine what games are trying to do and what I like about games, personally. Occasionally poignant, always funny and insightful.

    Good podcast (but)
WOFF and Bonfireside Chat are both shows that are easy to listen to because the hosts are very funny and articulate and have a good chemistry together. I think my main problem with the podcast is that they are very good almost too kind critics when they discuss a game they like and very bad and unfair critics when they discuss a game they like. And because of the mercurial nature of Butterfield, there’s little consistency in their likes and dislikes. And what makes it worst for me is they are incredibly humorless and frankly a bit stuffy about receiving criticism about some of their insane takes.

Like the concept, but the hosts are insufferable. Avoid at all costs. Yep yep.

Best way to describe these two is “if you don’t agree with me, you’re unequivocally wrong”

My Favorite Way to Game Vicariously
Gary and Kole bring a thoughtful perspective to game reviews that balances critical analysis of gameplay and mechanics with insightful story discussion. Listening to WOFF! is a consistently enjoyable way to experience the games you never found the time to play, as well as revisit old favorites.

Crucial element of the next perspective
I subscribed to the Patreon for Bonfireside Chat and discovered this podcast, an excellent book club for games is how I look at it. They go through section by section and discuss specific elements and themes as well as the specifics in a way that you can picture the game in your minds eye! This is funny, comforting, and compelling and I love listening to it while playing games, driving, or before bed. Best suggestion? If you’re still reading, look for a couple of your favorite games first, look for a game you know and give that episode a listen. I promise you’ll enjoy it. -JustinZode

    Great Gaming Pod!
Love this show; so much back content to go through. Happy to be a Patreon supporter as well!
  • RonnieJ0930
95% great gaming podcast. 5% unbearable cultural takes
These guys are funny, passionate, knowledgeable and entertaining. They are also the type of intersectional critics that find fault with every facet of society because it’s probably built to support a white male hierarchy. If you can endure the random moments of vitriol that randomly erupt it might be your favorite podcast.

    Found through Resident Evil
I found WOFF while going through a phase of consuming any media I could about Resident Evil. It’s so nice to listen to Gary and Kole talk about games, and I love their sidebars about other games or media in episodes. xoxo about 10 years too late 5.5 stars for being WOKE libs

    Hardworkin’
Some hardworkin’ folks here and they take their content seriously. I appreciate that the episodes are structured and that they stick to it. They clearly put a lot of work into this network and it shows. Also, verbal confirmations like “uh-huhs” and such are critical elements of engaged conversations and it shows that the person is listening. Thank you for using verbal confirmations during a conversation.

    Not for me
Show summary: “Uh-huh. Yeah. Right. Yep. Liberal handwringing. Mmm hmm”. Hard pass.

Emotionally shallow host hides behind veil of articulating his words well
Just listened to 5 min the MGSV pod and my stomach hurts from laughing at the irony. The entire concept of Metal Gear is about the negative impact of nuclear weapons. Upwards of 270 thousand people lost their lives in Japan and all the one host is worried about is the sexism in the game. Nuclear fallout is yesterdays news I guess. Making sure every knows how YOU feel is so in. Just wanted to hear in depth analysis of a video game but instead we get this clown reiterating himself every 2 seconds about his feelings while berating the creator for the doing the same. I genuinely hate this podcast.
  • Demos the Boss
    Great podcast!
I really like the way these guys recap the game in its entirety, to the point where they’ll do multiple episodes on one game. They have a good sense of humor, often making rather imaginative jokes (“Kangle- kangle telp —and we kicked him out of the office when he started making conversation”—Episode 288: Plants Vs. Zombies). Overall, I recommend listening to this podcast. Good stuff, and they give honest reviews on the games as well. Thumbs up, Gary and Kole!

    I’m sorry
I left a review on everything to guppy to be funny but then I felt bad so I’m saying it here too. Happy birthday, Kole!

    So amazing
What a great podcast. I wish these two were my real life friends I feel like we would have a great time except for that Gary Butterfield.

With Great Comics comes Great Hosts
Two solid dudes with a great podcast. Came here after hearing Gary and Cole on Woff, was so happy to find a real solid comics podcast where I laugh and lose track of time at work. And who else could have given us such gems as “Ashley Madison Pryor.com”. Thanks for the great podcast!

The thing that got me interested in games more
I’m the type of person to stick to a episode of a podcast with something I know.this show has done something interesting by giving me more information about games I knew in someway.I like how the fact they talk about the plot’s and mechanics of the game’s they talk about/review,and most of all its entertaining in the best way I can think of.I hope this podcast goes on so that different games of different generations can get the spotlight in its own episode.(Game request:Clock Tower[Honestly it’s just an idea not something set in stone, and that’s great]).
  • blowhardbillybob
    Too political
I came to this podcast form their bonfire side chat which is great but the ad way to many of their own politics in their podcast. If I wanted politics I’d listen to a political podcast I come to these podcasts for game discussions.
  • Oooooort
    Echo chamber
This podcast. Yes. It’s not very good. Exactly. And it’s pretty hard to listen to for very long. Absolutely. And once you notice that one thing they do. Uh-huh. It’ll never stop annoying you. Totally. And they usually just go through a laundry list - yes- of the features the game has. Right.
  • Joe B 33
    Great Discussions
These guys really know how to discuss a game in such a complete and thorough way that you can “experience” a game you’ve never seen just by listening to its episode. I love it for both games I’ve played and ones I’m just curious about. On the downside, even as a liberal myself, the left-wing preaching and accompanying depressed outlook gets tiresome.
  • Quelaag4444
    “Objective” criticisms
I’m a huge fan of their Bonfireside Chat. Typically they have viewpoints that I think are well articulated, informed, and objective, so I thought I’d listen to some of their episodes on here that covered some of my favorite games. I loaded up their Tactics Ogre episode, and was immediately thrown off by the front-loading of negativity, especially for a highly regarded game like TO. I continued to listen, thinking that maybe I was just being sensitive to negative criticism because it’s such a beloved game for me, and the most frustrating part is that they talk about how FFT is the superior game, how many hundreds of hours they poured into FFT, how this game doesn’t stack up to FFT, etc., while Gary then spends the entire episode admitting that he didn’t engage with any of the systems that make this game what it is. Literally every time a side quest or recruitable character is brought up, Gary says “I didn’t engage with this.” I don’t care how many times they say “this isn’t because I played FFT first”, their bias is clearly showing, and it annoys me to the point that I can’t listen to this.

    Could be good!
This podcast could be fun if the hosts didn’t add dumb liberal commentary.

    Finally reviewing after 3 years
Good lord I’ve been listening to the podcast for years now and never did the solid favor of reviewing it. My favorite game podcast bar none. Gary and Kole find a perfect balance between analyzing experience, mechanics, and design. Their craft is well-honed but always improving. No ads (at least in modern episodes), just great discussion and deep dives. Happy to be a patron of this team.
  • DocFunky
    Yep. Mmhmm. Uh huh.
Others have said this already… Yep. But this podcast is absolutely insufferable. Uh huh. And why is that? Mmhmm. Because after every sentence, or every pause… Mmyeah. …the other host interjects with an affirmation. Yup. It doesn’t matter how short or insignificant the preceding sentence is. Yeah. They just do it. Yes. Terrible. OH YEAH
  • Andrewsahn
    A podcast with integrity
Love you guys, been a patron for years but just wanted to drop a line and let you know that I always have and always will appreciate your honesty, integrity, and genuineness in criticism. It’s why I continue to support, and I’m certain a large portion of your audience feels the same. Thanks for everything you do, your loyal listeners truly do appreciate your contributions to this sphere.
  • Daniel Bomberger
    Yup uh-huh
Unlistenable. The constant stream of confirmations when one or the other is talking is excruciating. Uh-huh. Yep. Yeah. Uh-huh.
  • Plague-ridden rat
    Amazing but
When will you guys cover Alien Isolation?
  • Ballsout9999
    Best gaming podcast out there.
Gary and Kole deliver run-through reviews on mostly retro games that show a lot of prep and consideration. I especially appreciate the long format and unintrusive ads (when there are ads at all). Bonus is that they also do bonfireside chat in case you run out of WOFF.
  • no nickname dude.
Engaging and enjoyably obsessive game travelogue
Love these guys. Insightful commentary and opinions.

    My favorite podcast, period
I have listened to EVERY SINGLE EPISODE of this podcast. Many of them more than once. This show has gotten me through a lot of bad days. I can imagine the person who doesn’t like this, but I cannot relate to them.
  • Suzi_Hoon
    Disrespectful to law enforcement
Have been listening to Duckfeed media for years, and a week with a new WOFF episode is always a treat. Gary and Kole provide both holistic long-form critical analysis and refreshingly honest subjective opinion on games beloved (if sometimes overrated) and obscure (if sometimes obscure for a reason). I may not always agree with their takes, but let it never be said that they were not genuine and defensible. You will never get a rote play-by-play here. Also, and I cannot stress this enough, they're not f-'n cops.
  • B. Renoir
    The most insightful games podcast
If you want a deep exploration of video games, this is the podcast for you. Great for both games you have and have not played. You’ll understand and appreciate games more after listening.
  • Gpc138
    Disrespectful to law enforcement
In episode 342 the hosts constantly refer to anything negative as "something a cop would do" Later in the episode they explain that they feel cops represent systematic oppression. This type of truth telling really helps the communities pigs terrorize on a daily basis know what's up. I could go on about how violent and racist members of law enforcement are but I'm sure vou won't care. You gained a lifetime listener in me and should be proud of yourselves.

    Disrespectful to law enforcement
In episode 342 the hosts constantly refer to anything negative as “something a cop would do” Later in the episode they explain that they feel cops represent systematic oppression. This type of divisive rhetoric only drives a deeper wedge between cops and the communities they serve. I could go on about how selfless and brave members of law enforcement are but I’m sure you won’t care. You lost a listener in me and should be ashamed of yourselves.
