I can’t handle all the mispronunciations of words
Lived in CA all my life. My father was born in CA in 1925. Many of the stories are things I have heard about in the news at the time they happened. Others stories are new to me. I want to like this podcast, but so many words are mispronounced or misused, with frequent grammatical mistakes as well - I cringe while listening. Podcasts are not live radio. Editing tools let you tidy up and correct errors. I have done some live radio at a small community public radio station - there were mistakes, but we went back later in the same show, or the following episode, to acknowledge errors. I know that editing a podcast takes time, but that’s what professionals do, they polish their work

    Please stop…
Roseanne, Roseanne, Roseanne... what in the world was this last episode? Abysmal!! 2 more parts to come of audio?? PLEASE, go back to the old days or no one is going to listen. This long time listener has been hanging on with hope but hope is gone... I'm so sorry!

I couldn’t get through a half hour. Her voice is awful to listen to.

    Good content, presentation is tough
The good: Well researched, thorough episodes about a ton of true crime stories, many of which aren’t covered by other podcasts. Some of her ideas and analyses are worthwhile. The bad: The hostess, who does the podcast entirely by herself, reads in an often VERY dull monotone. Her attempts at wit are often terrible. There’s a tendency to repeat and rephrase the same ideas over and over. Sometimes it feels like a middle school student giving a presentation that never ends. It’s not unlistenable or the worst podcast I’ve ever heard, and I respect the amount of work that she puts in. But it could use another person to edit and provide some of the writing talent she lacks.

    I left 5 stars bc
You seriously are one of my favorites. I can tell the amount of time you put into each episode. But I will say, I have never heard you say stuff like that about anyone but Christians and southern white people. You praise and virtue signal every other group. You probably don't even realize it. It's just become so common that if you have not been down here to the south and actually met us, then don't act like you're above us, snarky or not. It's all we hear these days. About how horrible white people are and it upset me to hear you add on. I love your voice. Keep being you, and don't take this personally. Use it to grow and think about your tone when you make fun of the same kinds of people.

    Staying in Your own Lane
**updated: STILL one of my favorite Podcasts. Roseanne. Be you… unapologetically. Some podcasts aren’t for everyone. But for people who listen to the crime podcasts, need a little laugh. Or something that isn’t so serious. Even if it is an off handed comment. Keeps people on their toes. Smart a comments, ridiculous tones breaks up the monotony. If we didn’t have our sense of humors… these crime podcasts would make everyone so sad and depressed. And if anyone listened to your podcast, they would know, you are not at all meanhearted or out to offend anyone. First, when I heard someone had said stay in your own lane to Roseanne, I thought Roseanne was joking. And then she said someone actually had nerve to say it to her. Her response to what was said, was so nice. Roseanne, this has been a rough year all around. But as for your podcast, keep up the great job. I love your sense of humor. And the comments you make are the ones we are already thinking. I’m happy you didn’t “stay in your own lane” and I am so proud of you for them not affecting your love for the show. ❤️❤️❤️

Love your show-but please be a little more open minded
Your show is one of my favorites. I just listened to 264 & 265. I’d ask you be a little more open minded about gun owners and veterans. Stereotyping ar-15 owners as looking for a gun fight or enjoying shooting somebody isn’t fair. Just like stereotyping somebody who is trans isn’t fair. Our country is deeply divided, I’d argue largely because of social media and Trump….but of cause, I think we all need to make a good faith effort to understand people. Even if they hold beliefs we don’t agree with. Our country has many problems, but the thing that makes it great is to notion we don’t all have to agree on things to collectively come together for the greater good.

    Love this podcast
Took a break going down the YouTube rabbit hole, came back to my podcasts. Catching up on killafornia dreaming makes me remember how much I love this podcast! I love Roseanne’s perspective and story telling. And of course the occasional Fred sneeze. That made me smile! Love you Roseanne!

    The Queen!
When it comes to knowledge of the crime and all the criminals involved, Roseanne is the Queen! The time and energy she puts into her research cannot be uncontested, especially because she does it all by herself! In addition, the crimes she covers are very serious, but Roseanne always adds a little levity with her sharp wit and snarky humor! Cheers Roseanne, your show is always at the top of my queue!

True crime bedtime stories…could I ask for more?
Thank you! This is just want I’ve been looking for. Will definitely support you asap

    Just started binging. 5 🌟
I love Roseanne’s speaking voice and delivery. I’m tired of “perky” voiced hosts laughing/joking/snickering trying to be witty while “discussing” such horrific stories about real victims, all the while talking about the the beer, wine or other alcohol they are consuming. The occasional swear word doesn’t bother me as it only emphasizes the outrage Rosanne rightly feels while having a soft speaking voice. Good luck in the future, Roseanne 😊

    she has a gift
listening to her perspective from beginning to end of the story of these people is something so remarkable. she tells the story as if she were them.....she knows every thought they had, every feeling they felt. so well researched from head to toe. its not a light listen. it will evoke emotion. so just make sure you are already in a good place. i like it for nice long drives. you will learn a lot about life and people.

    Too verbose
You need to edit yourself. Too repetitive.

Can’t wait for each episode to be released.
    Thorough and empathetic storytelling.

    I tried
I cant move past her reading her scripts like a child does in a low budget commercial. I really wanted to like this podcast but it’s like the awkward kid in class reading their report verbatim without any emotion. The point of a script is to make it seem like you’re not READING the script

    She is the best
I love listening to Roseann. She does her research like no other. She writes beautifully and is quite the storyteller. She is witty and knows how to use humor to lighten the mood when it is most needed. Her voice is very soothing and you might think your listening to a fairytale as opposed to a crime/horror story. Check her out, she is worth the time. Oh a she has created a family of dreamers of which I am one.

Roseanne’s humor and realism are ideal for me!
I love Roseanne’s realistic way she talks about these subjects and her in depth reporting. Her humor and Fred facts are refreshing and enjoyable. She does a great job and should be less hard on herself! A great podcast and one I’ve listened to for nearly all its 6 years .

    Several Thumbs Way Up
This is my favorite “murder ASMR” podcast. I would listen to Roseanne read the phone book! Luckily I don’t have to, since she has an incredible bunch of well researched episodes to choose from! All of the awesome, 11 out of 10 stars!

A Legend In Her Own Mind
Wanders in and out of stories. Strongly inputs her left leaning bias. White males are essentially the root of all evil is her basic message.

    Amazing
Amazing you can do 265episodes and still be a rank amateur. Angry adolescent girl with a chip on her shoulder.

    Rosanne Sinclair
As a little girl, who grew up reading every Nancy Drew mystery, I knew there was some thing inside me that wanted to understand and find answers. I listen to many true crime documentaries, they touch my heart. Yor podcast is unique, brilliant, thoughtful and well told it’s unlike any other one! I love the courage that you express with your opinions and sharing your own life. Thank you! I am Nicole Woods Teasdale a full-time Pet Sitter in Santa Barbara. I was walking on Miramar Beach in Montecito the other day when I passed Gwyneth Paltrow while I was listening to your podcast. She was luminous and beautiful in person. Had a couple little terriers that were barking like crazy!

    5 Stars Long Overdue
I’m ashamed that I’m just now getting around to writing a review. Roseanne and her podcast are what inspired me to begin making my own content some years ago. Hers is one of the first true crime podcasts I ever listened to, and it remains one of the most authentic. Roseanne has really come into her own over the years and is completely, wonderfully unique. The cases she chooses are always good ones. She utilizes great research skills to provide lots of details, and she has the intellectual ability to contribute smart takes on every case. Some specific things I love about the podcast include her voice. I’ve seen a few rude opinions about her voice but I personally enjoy it. Again, it’s unique and has this special quality of being both engaging and soothing. It’s one of the only podcasts I can listen to during the day and stay completely engrossed in, while I’m also able to also listen to it before going to sleep due to her somewhat soft and relaxing voice. Another part of the podcast that I love is Roseanne’s snarky sense of humor. I’ve re-listened to the series on Elizabeth Holmes and Sunny Balwani several times and cannot contain my laughter every time she jokes about Sunny’s chest hair creeping out of his partially unbuttoned shirts. Whenever I need a good laugh, that’ll do it. I almost woke up the house once, late at night, and tears were streaming down my face as I tried not to laugh too loudly. She’s so good at creating those types of visual images. And she only makes fun of complete doofus criminals. She has the utmost respect for those who have had crimes committed against them. I hope Roseanne keeps speaking her mind for years and years to come, and I’ll continue being a faithful listener. Thank you for all of your time and hard work, Roseanne!

Please don’t read any of the negative comments you are awesome and so genuine Thank you for all of your stories. This podcast is like a true crime meditation session. I love it!!!!! I’ve listened to all of them. I totally get you. I love your voice. I love the delivery style. And I appreciate the calm and quiet and realness of you. Thank you

    Smart, thoughtful and calm
I been listening for at least 2 years. I like the thoughtfulness and research. Maybe not for everybody, but the world would be a better place if it was.

    I like her style
As a native southern Californian I gravitated to this show. I like her tangents and her silliness. I also like it when she drops the F-bomb and gets really mad about someone and/or some situation. It’s quintessential Rosanne 🌞

    Compelling and Honest
I like it. This is a really good podcast. Everything is presented with an absence of pretension. The host is direct and clear, and to the point, and thinks, and feels the way the listener does about this stuff. This is much better than main stream crime podcasts.

    This has grown on me
Host has pleasant voice. Rambles on at times but that’s part of charm. In depth coverage.

A Refreshingly Different True Crime Podcast
I’ve been listening to this podcast for a while on and off like most podcasts in this genre. This program is unique these days. One person, no parent company, no commercials, and a variety of approaches to telling each story. I like that a team of people don’t sanitize the creator and host. She is who she is. She does what she does. She is good at so many things and keeps me listening. If I am bored with a multi episode story line I can move on to a different story. Usually she finds information and researched deeply though and I love that long format. I’m glad she does both longer stories and one episode. Keep on doing what you do, how you want to. I for one will keep listening!!! Good work! Stay independent!
  • sssssmiley
