Memories of his previous trip filled him with anxiety. What was he thinking? After everything that had happened, did he really want to go back? Scams. Altercations. Mishaps. But also humor and beauty. His curiosity overcoming his fears, his second trip would prove as unforgettable as the first. [o] Read by the author. This man has issues.
I’m listening to him talk about his toilet problems. He seems unfit for travel and unable to do any research. Seriously, if your focus is on misadventures, then misadventures will seek you out. Morocco has millions of happy tourists that I couldn’t help thinking the problem was with his personality. What’s the point of this podcast? It doesn’t work as humor, as literature, or as helpful guide. Bye bye.

    Why does this exist?
I was 8 minutes in to this podcast when I decided to leave my one-star review. Before traveling to a foreign land you should research it. Not just Google searches, but learn about the history, culture, people and art. Morocco is a beautiful country filled with passionate, interesting people. They have a long history that includes strong ties with the Jewish people. I traveled to Morocco alone in 2018 (I’m a woman) and the only uncomfortable thing I experienced was the airline losing my suitcase for a couple of days. The people were kind and warm, the food was heavy and delicious, and my life was forever changed. The author should maybe stay at a sandals resort in Cabo next time?

    I just escaped to Morocco
It seems a bit insensitive to laugh at these accounts of the authors amusing and unbelievable experiences in Morocco, but I’m guessing humor is the only thing that him through them. I highly recommend this podcast and the book, too!

    Misadventures indeed!
This author has had some hilarious and intense experiences in Morocco! Definitely worth a listen. And the interviews with the author shed some interesting additional light on his experiences.

    Dumb
This is poorly written and is a whiney author complaining about everyone and everything in Morocco.

    Drivel
In the mood for a few hours of uninformed ramblings and thinly-veiled xenophobia, peppered with forced synonyms conjured up from the collegiate thesaurus a naive and amateur traveler keeps adjacent to his laptop? This dullard’s memoirs are an absolute disservice to the beautiful country and people of Morocco. They perpetuate fear, stereotype and suspicion rather than foster understanding and appreciation.

    Interesting
I enjoyed listening to this and bought his book. Side note: the relentless pressure Matthew describes reminds me of how women feel when they tell a man “no” in America.
