    Stuff I’m Learning Today
In just the hundred or so episodes I’ve listened to of this podcast, I’ve had a lot of self reflection. I’ve learned that I can control today, that sometimes all someone needs is a little encouragement, that making the hard decisions oftentimes reap the most rewards, and that even someone that you wouldn’t imagine could be happy like a janitor could have more joy than anyone you know and even pass a little of that joy on to you. I started out as a fan of Darrell’s, and he has been a mentor to me in so many ways from helping me learn the ropes of podcasting to helping me be a better father to my children. I would most importantly think of him as a friend. It may be tough to look at your life and see what needs fixing or needs review, but if you want to become a better person, this is the podcast for you because if you aren’t learning— you aren’t living.

I learn something new every time I listen
I am not going to say that I listen to every episode but I have listen to many of these. The various hosts do a wonderful job at sharing stories from their lives in hopes of helping the listener learn something new. This show gets me to think and re-examine my life. Lately it has been really trippy because I have been going through a lot of things in my life and lately every episode has been really helpful with the chalenges I've been facing. To all the hosts of this show past, present, and future... THANK YOU. Thanking for sharing your life with me. Hopefully one day I can return the favor on the Friday Forum.

    Extremely Helpful
I love getting bite sized bits of information that I find helpful. Even if you don't listen to every episode there will be at least one per week that applies to something that you would find helpful.

    Podcast with real world lessons
Stuff I Learned Yesterday is a podcast with real world, secular lessons that speak to people without pushing an agenda. The format of each episode is short and easy to digest with each episode standing on its own. To me, the real draw of this podcast is the use of actual real life events and experiences of the hosts and contributors to share a lesson they have learned. The one drawback to this podcast is that some of the episodes can revolve heavily around the Christian faith, which some may not identify with, but they are few and far between. I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone looking for a short yet insightful podcast that inspires.

    The Pivotal Point
I love personality tests and love the way you transparently shared a bad experience, that could make you could look bad, to show us how well aligned relationships can help the gifts in our personalities shine. I like how the Kolbe reflects instincts - because it is what shows through under stress. Thank you Emilee!

    My Favorite Podcast
This is my favorite podcast. I like that it’s short enough for me to listen just about anywhere. I like that my kids get to listen with me. And I love the inspirational messages as well as the strong community this podcast has created.

    Great stuff!
I love all of Golden Spirals Podcasts! I love the insight to TV shows, and here in stuff I learned yesterday, I love all the stories. They help me cheer up! Just started listening to this one because I listen to mark's under the dome and orphan black podcasts and heard he was doing this one. Thanks guys and gals for giving me interesting things to listen to when I can't sleep you are an insomniacs dream come true! Judii aka the grammie lol

Wise words that touch the heart
I just started listening to Stuff I Learned Yesterday. I've been wanting to listen but was busy with the We Have To Go Back podcast getting ready to go to LOST2014 in Oahu. One of the first episodes I listened to today was Ain't No Mountain High Enough and I had to come and leave a review because I loved it so much! I was on that same trip described in the episode and Darrell brought it back to life in my memory. Of course it was all beautiful to look at (the LikeLike & H3 are my favorite areas of the island) and Darrell did an amazing job describing it but I also loved how he brought the wisdom to it about not giving up when you are doing something because you don't know the effect it will have on the future. I'm looking forward to catching up on all the older podcasts and highly recommend this one to everyone. Thank you for a great podcast!

    Great lessons, Great Podcast
Mandy is such a great addition to the podcast! She has a great honest and trustworthy voice. It's also nice to hear a woman's perspective/voice. Welcome Mandy. She should do audiobooks :-)

    Pretty Darned Great
This podcast, simple in concept, is a terrific listen. Thoughtful, positive and full of the simple reminders we can all use regularly. Darrell and GSM are great, and the listener contributions add a nice variety!

Stuff I Didn't Know I Needed to Hear...
I began listening to this podcast with it's first episode. It started out with me listening to them as I got ready for the day and quickly evolved into sharing them with my family. My kids (ages 9 and 12) are so engaged in learning from Darrell that it opens the door for many family discussions. Plus, we can use examples from the stories Darrell and others share to help the kids (and ourselves) apply the lessons taught here to real life. Definitely worth a listen.

    Stuff I’ve learned...
I’ve learned to trust Darrell. I started listening to GSM’s The Fringe Podcast back in 2009. Over the years I’ve listened to GSM’s other TV and movie related podcasts and really enjoyed them. I usually listen to them as I fall asleep and then pick up the next night from the last thing I remember. Something else that I’ve learned is that Stuff I Learned Yesterday podcasts are different. These short episodes kept me awake because they inspired me and made me think. Now, rather than listening to the podcasts as the last part of my day, I listen to them when I wake up as a great start to a new day. I recommend finding a place in your busy day for these wonderful stories.

    Makes Me Smile
Now that the weather is nice, I have been listening to this podcast out on my walks. I usually use my walk time as a time to de-stress from the day. Darrell, the host, offers insight and reflection within each of the episodes as well as a few laughs. Within each episode, there has been something mentioned that I can relate to. The Friday Forums are great because you get to hear stories from the community. Plain and simple…the podcast makes me smile.

    Deep Thoughts with Darrell
So that’s a fun subtitle for this great podcast, but it’s apt. Darrell does a wonderful job with these short podcasts, observing what’s happening in his life and thinking about what it means to him. The fact that he is willing to share that with us is terrific. Try a few of these and you will be hooked and become a subscriber!

    Inspiring
Over the years I’ve listened to all the podcasts that Golden Spiral has put out and wasn’t to sure what to expect from this one. The Fringe Podcast was the “Gateway” podcast for me and the production quality of that as well as any GSM cast is what I judge all others by. So, with that in mind I gave this one a listen. And I’m glad I did! This podcast in both inspiring and challenging to me, as 27 year guy, and to the countless others who contribute and listen to this show. And I’m sure it’ll be to you as well. Darrel is an excellent story teller and is transparent and real with his life lessons.

    Inspiring and Tons of Fun
I've listened to many Golden Spiral Media podcasts, and they're always enjoyable and entertaining. This one however takes another step and becomes truely inspiring. Darrell shares many different moments of his life and makes this a very personal experience. If you're looking for a short podcast that will bring a smile to your face, and yes possibly learn something, this is the one for you.

Great Reminder of Simple Lessons in Life!
I’m really enjoying listening to Darrell’s stories . . . love the gentle and relaxing pace. In this overly complicated world, this podcast is reminding me of so many simple life lessons. Everyone has lessons from their life to share with others and Darrell is gifted in how he shares his. Keep up the awesome work!

    An inspiring podcast
I just found this podcast and I love it already. Darrell seems like a great guy. Stuff I learned yesterday is a nice concept. The episodes are short and easily digestible. Above all I find the shows inspire me to use what he has learned and to pay attention to what I can learn from my own life to enjoy it more moving forward. Thanks Darrell.

    Thoughtfull and insightful
I've followed Golden Spiral Media for years ever since the Fringe Podcast. I am obsessed with pop culture and technology, so when I heard Darrell was going to start a life guidance podcast, I was sure it would be the first GSM podcast that I would fall out of listening to. But I was SO wrong. This podcast is only a month old, but it has all ready given me a new perspective. Many of my issues with depression and lonliness have been helped through this podcast. From inspiring me to think positivly, to convincing me to reach out to others and search for my dreams. I've even gotten insight on sneaking to eat Holloween candy! Can't thank Darrell enough for bringing this to me. It is (one of) my very favorite things!

    Simply inspiring
I've been a fan of Darrell's work through the Revolution podcast and so it was natural to start listening to SILY. I'm so glad that I did. His shared experiences and life lessons have affirmed that I'm not alone in questioning my actions and has helped me through self-reflection try to be a better husband, father, and co-worker. Thanks Darrell.

Wonderful way to begin the day!
Darrell's podcast reminds me that it is okay to be human as he walks through successes, failures, daily living, and stories from ordinary people. i listen in the morning on the way to work, and it gives me food for thought as I go through the day. I look forward to it each morning. Keep up the great work!

    smile
I am a listener who was not sure if I’d get into this podcast, but once I started I haven’t stopped. What an uplifting show. It really makes you think (not in a hard way!), take mental notes and recognize what is truly important in life. I loved your daughter’s idea, and I try to give someone a compliment everyday - I didn’t realize I did that until the challenge came about. Darrell you have really opened up your heart to all of us - thanks for the smile this podcast gives me. GSM rocks!!!

I've enjoyed Darrell since the Fringe podcast. This is a different type of podcast but just as enjoyable as well as inspirational. Keep it up!!

Making Myself a Better Person, Spouse and Parent
I have listened to Golden Spiral Media podcasts since they started podcasting about Fringe BEFORE the show had even aired. I wasn’t sure if I was going to listen to this podcast, since it wasn’t about a television show, movies or technology. And, it took me up to "SILY Episode 19 - I’m glad you like the shirt on my back” to even listen to one. I have since listened to all of the SILY episodes, although not all at once, because I wanted to think about them and give each one the time I thought they deserved. I have grown to truly appreciate the SILY podcasts. The older I get, the more I realize that I want to work everyday to be a better person, father and husband (son, brother, et al) and I feel that this podcast helps in a small way. My wife and I have tried to teach our kids to be thoughtful, mindful and self aware and I find that I can share most of the SILY podcasts with them and have discussions about them. Thank you Darrell for taking the time to put these out and for opening yourself up to us.

    Morning Commute GOLD!
I will admit I was ready NOT to like this podcast. I thought it might end up being too sappy or have too many religious overtones. But Darrell has managed to strike the perfect balance of inspiration, storytelling, and that indefinable personal touch that makes this short format, daily testimonial perfect for my drive into work. I’ve learned a lot from what he has shared so far and plan to implement many of his ideas in my own life and career.

    Outstanding!
I was a huge fan of Darrell's work on the Revolution podcast so I decided to give this one a shot too. Darrell's personal insights and anecdotes as well as his positive attitude have truly enriched my days since I have been listening. As a fan of the works and insights of motivational leaders like Zig Ziglar and John Maxwell, I think Darrell Darnell is going to make a huge impact with this podcast - he already has for me.

The Best GSM Podcast to Date
Having listened to GSM podcasts since their inception I can honestly say this is the best yet. The quick daily podcasts are perfect to listen to on my way to work. Darrell’s years of podcasting culminate in a mature polished product on Stuff I Learned Yesterday. It is clear he is passionate about this project. His willingness to be honest and sincere with the audience make this a podcast worth listening to. Great STUFF!

Darrell brings his talents to the front with this personal and inviting podcast. Brings to mind Stephen Tobolowsky of theTobolowskyFiles. Darrell is a natural story teller.
