VetPremiumPayerStark and Solnis would have been great!Didn’t need the cynical snarky rant at the beginning about Phils optimism for a pitcher who won 15 2 years ago and was bad last year. Stick that in the Dirty Inning Pod so I can ignore it more efficiently. Solo Stolnis!

Ñick909Best Phillies PodcastI don’t think I’ve missed an episode since the Phillies signed Harper. John is an excellent conductor and consummate professional. Justin’s sense of humor, deeply steeped in the Simpsons, reminds me of my own friend group. I like Liz’s point of view on the Union and player’s rights. But what happened Friday’s episode? Was Liz drunk? I wouldn’t have been able to finish the episode were it not for Justin taking up the slack. I hope she’s ok. Keep up the good work gang!

KPjournInformative, funny, on target, and no screaming! 👍🏼This is one of the best Phillies podcasts for staying up to date on the goins-on. John, Liz and Justin are all great and offer different things to the whole discussion. There’s focus on the Phillies, with some actual rational debate and nuance rather than the rantings of live sports radio. Even the tangents are enjoyable.

MatyBramStubbs must goCome on, be serious, “everyone” does not love Stubbs. The “good vibes” are long gone!
-
Brutes77Love this podcastI appreciate how objective John seeks to be while also giving a Phillies fan flavor. Great podcast.

Average Listener DOJohn should be a solo host every showLiz and Justin are truly un-listenable. John knows his stuff and is a true pro’s pro when it comes to the baseball analysis and show production/hosting. I hate having to skip any episodes with Justin or Liz on them because I know I’m missing out on some good stuff from John but I just can’t bear either of them. Not worth the time.
-
ironmist.LOVE this show!John's brainiac analysis, Justin's sick disgusting sense of humor, and Liz's no-nonsense approach make WHYY's Hittin' Season the premier Philadelphia Phillies podcast on the planet. Listen as these three hosts compliment each other in a roundabout way, giving you the thoughts you need on this lovable, yet maddening team. Need some variety besides all three at once? Listen to John Stolnis's savant-grade stats and analysis on his solo shows, or listen to Justin and Liz duke it out on the weekly. Don't have time to watch all of the games or read every The Athletic article? No worries. You'll get caught up on all the scores, happenings, and narratives these three host provide each and every week. So if you need crazy stats, humor, or a feisty approach to the Phils, look no further than the Hittin' Season!

JLnythe John and Justin showplease trade Liz to the Marlins for cash considerations

your pal AlGreat alternative to WIPGreat podcast! Great to have some thing less corporate!

hollis thompsonWho’s worse liz or stolnisMan those two are pretty hard to listen to! Very bad at this and not very insightful, yikes

CS1370More Solo Episodes PleaseJohn does a good job as host. He gives the listener solid Phillies content without biases. The best episodes are probably the solo ones. Justin can give quality content but tries way too hard to be funny. Liz essentially offers nothing but besides loudly cackling.

browntk1Objective ReviewJohn, Justin and Liz team up to make a formidable group discussing all things Phillies related. John does a great job as host, leading the group discussion and moving from topic to topic. He’s knowledgeable, albeit sometimes overly optimistic, in his view of the team and does a good job driving and promoting discussion. Justin, in my opinion, is the most enjoyable member to listen to among the group. His quick witted, dry sense of humor plays well with John and Liz’ more toned down approach. He seems to be the most knowledgeable in the group as well. Respectfully, Liz is the only reason this Pod deserves 4/5 stars. She offers little in the way of actual analysis and tends to interject her political views into discussions with not-so-subtle comments. She oftentimes highlights race, outside the context of its (I guess?) somewhat normal discussion in sports, which oftentimes comes across as forced and leaves an awkward taste in the mouth. As someone who has listened for nearly two years, she’s also had more than a few awkward exchanges with John and Justin. She also tends to yell into her mic to the point it is jarring for the listener. Overall, I’d still very much recommend this podcast with the caveat that Liz is anywhere from “not great” to “what is she talking about” bad. The stream of content is very good and if you’re a Phillies fan, there aren’t many Phillies related podcasts better.
-
gerbilalleyLiz has to goHow she has a job is beyond me. She can’t speak without that awkward laugh. It’s like nails on a chalkboard.

Gil CochranNlcsWHYY did the Phillies lose. Great season you guys have done an incredible job with this pod. What will the next intro be next

KyledrakeinfJohn is the bestJohn is the best, Justin and Liz are atrocious
-
ThomasMRobsonMy favorite Phillies podcastHonestly my favorite of the many Phillies podcasts. John, Justin, and Liz are smart and funny, approaching the team as fans—but ones that know what they’re talking about.
-
m.ev48Quality Phillies PodcastJohn, Justin, and Liz do a great job giving their perspectives about the team. Sometimes can wear thick rose colored glasses of optimism about the secondary/tertiary Phillies players or team state but mostly their analysis is spot on. Been a listener for years, would recommend Phillies fans subscribe!
-
Larryfl1Best sports podcastI listen to many podcasts about Philadelphia sports I can. This is the best one I’ve listened to. Others are good, but this is the best. John is excellent alone, but when all three are together is when the show is brilliant.
-
Twinmommie06More PoliticsI found this podcast a few months ago & was enjoying it until they led off with political views. I can get that plenty of other places. Was hoping this would be about the Phillies.
-
Acknice11It’s overLoved the podcast until a shout out for Pride month. Stick to baseball
-
pumper nickelIt was goodSecond episode I’ve listened to recently that brought up politics. Head over to the ‘High Hopes’ podcast. Straight baseball talk. Update 5/7/23: Still garbage, John is an A+ podcaster. Liz and Justin are atrocious. Shame for John, he deserves better.

FooFighter559Solid podcast and yet...4/16/23 UPDATE: I've said it before and I'll say it yet again: what good is a podcast if I can't hear it? This is my go-to Phillies podcast. Host John Stolnis' analysis and (nearly) relentless optimism about the team is always appreciated. I can't say the same of Justin Klugh or Liz Roscher NOR CAN I HEAR WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY. I understand this is a podcast without a big budget but seriously, I'm deleting the latest episode (#653) because the sound quality is absolute garbage. I don't want to have to ratchet up my earbuds/speaker, etc. just to hear casual conversation, then have to rush to turn it down when Justin's laughter blows my eardrums out. 8/22/22 UPDATE: Hearing all three hosts is still an issue. Sometimes sounds like John steps into an other room or distances himself from his mic. Sometimes the volume of the hosts' voices rising up and down is frustrating enough to make me quit listening to an episode. 7/27/22 UPDATE: Now I hear Justin and Liz better than I hear John and, man, I wish they'd get their sound issues figured out. I enjoy their main podcast, "Hittin' Season," which John Stolnis hosts -- often solo but sometimes with Liz Roscher and Justin Klugh. I like John's insight and take on the Phillies' games and their organization as a whole, and he obviously loves the team (which I also find engaging). Their other two podcasts though, "Continued Success" and "The Dirty Inning," I almost always skip them. I'm more interested in Continued Success because they talk current MLB and Phillies news. The Dirty Inning...I'm just not that into ancient Phillies history and don't much care what the team was doing 50 or 60 years ago, etc. But my biggest complaint: Justin, it doesn't matter what you have to say IF I CAN'T HEAR YOU. I don't know if it's his mic, recording equipment or what... But the main reason I bail on the podcasts with just Liz and Justin is because I have to crank up the volume in order to hear anything that Justin is saying, and then my eardrums get blown out when Liz starts talking.

PhilPhan24SOLO JOHN STOLNIS!I ONLY listen to the pod when I see it's just John Stolnis and an external guest on the show - 4-5 stars! I stopped listening and won’t tune in as long as the other two regular guests are on the show - 0-1 stars. Seems from reading other reviews that nothing has changed and I’m making the right decision.
-
R2RS88Terrible. Don't waste your time.Below average baseball talk at best. Also, stay out of politics boys and girls Most listeners don't come to a sports podcast to listen to your poor sense of political humor. Also Liz is so bad it’s actually funny.

Jim McColiganNext stepsGuys, sorry to hear about the situation with SB Nation. I’ll follow you wherever the next steps take you. Please share the details when they are available so I can subscribe and continue to enjoy your content.

CpdietzJust can’t listen to this show anymoreJohn needs to go somewhere better, he does a great job but the rest of them are just unbearable. Phillies podcasting very clearly has an untapped market that desperately needs better shows. John should branch out and go find someone else to work with, because this crew is not it. I think John and maybe Jack Fritz together could be great.

PhilaPunkRoxk❤️❤️❤️love you allJohn, Liz, Justin, Trev, Chris—I look forward to your podcasts every single week. Thank you for this wonderful feed and for your passion.

Anf41Came for Baseball - Heard 1st grade political viewsSo disappointed because I wanted to listen to baseball, and they just wanted to espouse their 1st grade level political viewpoints. Could not dislike the hosts more.
-
broot12345Is this a Phillies podcast….Tried listening to the November 18th episode. Ends up I waste ten minutes listening to people berate Elon Musk!? Can’t use this podcast as an escape from the real world and into sports I guess… talk about what you advertise. No one cares about your other opinions….
-
Nick Garcia JrFor the Phans!I found y’all midway through the 2022 season, and I must say that I really enjoyed listening. Breakdowns are compact and insightful, stats are on point. Definitely worth a subscribe for the Phillies fan! I look forward to y’all’s offseason coverage and previewing the 2023 season.

Aerock19Thanks John!Thank you for all of the post game pods.
-
everyone gets a podDirty InningWhen will you actually talk about the game of baseball? And enough with all the giggling, annoying.
-
stop with the silly voicesTerrible audioContent might be good. Don’t know. I stopped listening because the audio quality was so bad. One host is screaming. The other sounds like he is in a cement basement talking through a blanket. Expected more from a “professional” SB Nation podcast.
-
wotnonsensePetty people being sanctimonious with satireI started listening to this podcast to enjoy some discussion about the Phillies. Instead I was subjected to a class-warfare rant by some arrogant and ill-informed people with an axe to grind. Turned it off after 15 minutes.
-
phillies_kiiiiiidTypical mediaStolnis said he’s not here to carry anyone’s water. Proceeds to carry his fellow media buddy’s water.
-
drheelNo original reporting and foul mouthedYou admit you don’t watch all the games or even the reporting on the games. A total waste.
-
Gritty67Good show minus LizI repeat: Good show that could be great if Liz never came back. She’s inarticulate, has average overall baseball knowledge, and embarrassed herself by inserting “like” before and after every third word. After the last episode one wonders where they received their medical degreee and if they might work for big pharma. Freedom drives these lunatics crazy, and into fits of rage. Pathetic. Always wrong on predictions too, and their Covid takes are particularly bad, not only in the moment but especially in hindsight. Best opening music to any podcast, however, so a star has been added. Probably Stolnis’ decision, because he’s the only relatively normal one of the crew.
-
KRS16Done ListeningI finally had to unsubscribe to this pod. Too much whining, negativity and way too much politics. And that’s not because they are mostly liberal politics. I listen to pods to escape politics. Plus not very knowledgeable about baseball.
-
CJcedro7HorribleContinued Success specifically …

NorwaybaseballfanHighlight of my dayI really enjoy listening to this podcast, it’s a nice way for me to stay up to date with baseball and helps me feel closer to home. Sometimes I find it so hard to stop myself from laughing on public transport, it really makes my day.

bubbafatt27Great Phillies knowledge!Great show John, Justin and Liz. I really enjoy listening every week. Keep up the good work! I have some ideas for the next Phillies Multiverse episode. 1. What if Jim Thome doesn’t sign with the Phillies? It might have set the franchise back a few years. He was invaluable to the 07-11 Phils in many ways and he wasn’t even on the team then. 2. What if J.D. Drew signed with the Phillies? In hindsight we’re luck that he didn’t. If he did we wouldn’t have gotten the compensatory pick the next year. And we drafted Burrell with that pick. 3. What if Terry Francona was given more of a chance? When the talent started showing up in early 2000 who knows what would’ve happened? 4. What if Ryan Howard doesn’t blow out his Achilles’ tendon? Does he become the Hall of Famer we thought he would become? Happy Holidays!

philzphan85Questions for the lock outAs always, you all rock. I realized last night as I was listening to your pod talking about nothing currently going on in baseball LOL but at this point it feels like I’m listening to old friends. I have two questions I was hoping you all could talk about during the walk out, the first one is: I haven’t lived in the Philadelphia area since turning 18. From the mid to thousands to the mid 2010s I lived in New York City, and for the last seven years I’ve lived in the San Francisco Bay area. Not friendly places for Philly fans.I know that many if not all of you I have also not lived in Philly for a while. My question is, how do you handle not living in the Philadelphia area and sports allegiance? Are there non-negotiables? Are there some situations in which you would route for your new local areas teams? What about going to away games to watch the Phillies, how much gear do you wear? How loudly do you root for the Phil’s ? And what about kids? My six-month-old daughter, my first kiddo, is currently wearing almost exclusively Philly gear, but I am worried that this will change.Second question is mainly for John colon interview one of your kid. Which player from the Phillies would they be most excited to hear the nationals had traded for? Which player would they be most upset to hear the nationals had traded for? Which nationals player would they be most upset to hear the Phillies had traded for? And which nationals player would they be the happiest to hear the Phillies had traded for?

NC Phils fanDisappointed…has become just rantsStarved for more Phillies content I’ve listened to this this pod for 12-18 months. It’s really become just a series of rants with poor discussion and lack of evidence. I love pods where people give strong opinions but those opinions are usually substantiated with “and here’s why”. I may or may not agree but love the debate and thought processes. The last 4-6 months it’s all just “this is my opinion and anyone reasonable agrees with me”. And then restating that over and over for an hour. Disappointed and now looking for new Phillies pods. There’s just no depth to this. Simple ranting.
-
jvfchiGreat podcastWhen I’m having a bad day. I listen to Phillies baseball podcast. Y’all are the best seriously. - Liz. Podcast makes me feel a lot better. Also GO BRAVES 2021 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!! Haha

RichAOJRJon=good Liz=ughStolnis is good at what he does, but Liz Roscher drags down every episode she’s on, as she often comes across as extremely unprofessional.
-
Kanakainda360Agree with everyone else, get rid of LizLiz Roscher please get rid of her. Would be a great podcast without her.
-
HdjsnsirjLiz Ruins the ShowCompletely insufferable to listen to. Sounds like she’s hammered half the time. Legit can’t listen to a pod if she’s on it
-
dvm1127Very DisappointingI expected a professional podcast but was very disappointed. I didn't finish listening. They need to clean up their language. I recommend they listen to Phillies Talk to see how a good podcast is dome.
