Some episodes drag but overall good
Some episodes seem to drag on but I suppose that’s the point too . I usually avoid Jala episodes , they seem to be a one upper about almost everything . Keep up the good work .

I usually wait for the hosts to pick the title...
Found this show a few months ago and I am so glad I did. It is basically a group friends who talk about video games they are playing and all the crazy tangents that come with that. Reminds me of the good old days when I had more time to play games. I am listening in order of release date, and I’m only on episode 117 of 317 so it’s like I’m living in 2015 which is kind of weird, but also cool. Looking forward to the next 200 episodes!

    Goofy and fun.
With the high to low brow jokes from Kole, the heartwarming daddening of Dennis, the humorous bias of David, the straightforward breath of fresh air that is Jala and the immovable patience and good mirth that is Ben, this is a wonderful podcast where a gaggle of friends talk about video game, sometimes.

Probably the best way to casually talk about games.
The best thing about The Level isn’t the hosts, though they’re all great people who really bring an extra level of genuine joy to the show. The best thing about this podcast is that it really mirrors how people actually talk about the games they’re playing (The Grind) and the relevant games-related news of the day (The Brief). It helps you engage with games you know and may want to try, and typically someone brings to the table something a little lesser known that you might want to look up. Also, if you hit the Facebook page early enough on Mondays, you’ll always have your Multiplayer answer read, and who doesn’t want to have words they wrote read out loud on a podcast? Listen to this!

Great video game podcast on opinions and feedback on gaming topics
I started listening to this podcast abut a year ago and have listened every week since then. It's a very well done and organized podcast in which there is detailed and thoughtfull discussion on current game issues, feebdack with listeners about a gaming question, and what the hosts have been currently playing. I'm more of a retro gamer but I enjoy current games as well and it's nice to have a focused, professional podcast like this in which I can learn about current games (many of which I've bought) and current gaming topics. The mix of rotating hosts for the most part is very good. Kole is the host and does a great job with his feedback and Jala is a great host who I wish could be on there every week as she brings her own style of snarky but insightfull comments as a woman on a podast full of men. The weakst link to the hosts would be David. He always seems upset, goes on long rambling topics, and doesn't provide much insightfull comments. Having said that, this is still a great podcast and the best 'current gaming' podcast I've tried, and I've tried hundreds!

Civil, entertaining discussion on current VGs
Cole, Dennis, Ben, and the revolving 4th chair provide a great deal of great content exploring the news, community, and experienced observations in the video game world today. Listening to it has become my Friday ritual at work and is highly entertaining. Keep up the great work team! *BUTTONS*

    They're doing it again
Duckfeed.tv can't help but produce a never-ending stream of top-notch content. This time it's a general-discussion on current goings-on in the video game industry: social impacts, game announcements, and current trends; engagement with listeners in the form of weekly "multiplayer" questions; and their own lives and perspectives in this wonderful hooby we call gaming. Best part of all, what gives this particular weekly gaming podcast its special flavor, is that our esteemed hosts are all industry-outsiders.

A great podcast that reviews happenings in gaming culture, as well as their own experiences, along with your own!

Amazing podcast when there is a member missing
This is a great podcast for anyone who enjoys listening to people with alternative views on gaming culture. There is one problem with the cast. I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not spewing any hate towards David but i do think he should find another medium to express his love for games. The sound quality of his recording is almost never good and the accent he has is hard to listen to. I just don't think that his voice is very pleasant to listen to and I find it to be all I concentrate on when im trying to enjoy the content in the rest of the show. The episodes where he has been absent have been a joy to hear. When David is on I find this cast to be unlistenable. I would love to listen to this cast more often and please only take this as a constuctive commetnary on the show and not an attack on David as a person.

Listening to this is better than working
Gets me through my 12 hour days. Actual video game fans talking about video games. Keep it up.

    Fantastic podcast
A varied cast of hosts share their experiences with and insights into video games. The dedicated section for listener responses makes you feel more connected to the show with every week and the amount of charm and respect each host exudes makes this a must-subscribe for gamers.

    Good personalities
You start feeling like good friends with these podcasters after a few episodes. All offer unique perspectives and quality content. Sure you could listen to the Kinda Funny games cast or Game Informer but why when you have these awesome people.

    Consistently Excellent
Hilarious. They provide a good blend of opinions. Every week, I enjoy their quick, mini game reviews, news stories and banter. Five stars for sure.

    Knowledgable and Enjoyable Podcast
Awesome podcast - The host, Kole Ross, is extremely professional sounding and easy to listen to. They discuss a lot of story-based games, both popular and obscure. Very polished podcast - I don't miss an episode.

    Addicting and funny!
One of my top 5 podcasts. I love that this show has weekly discussion with the listeners, where our comments from the Facebook page are read on the air. The audio is top-notch and no one talks over each other or shouts so it's very comfortable to listen to in an office environment. They also keep us up to date with video game news and sometimes movie related events. It's an all around favorite that I will keep listening to years to come. If you're a fan of this show you should check out the others on their duckfeed.tv website. It's where I learned about this podcast.

It's clear that they have a large affection for games and the game industry
When the Level hosts describe their podcast as a podcast for people who love video games, it definitely shows. The hosts have perfected their format and have excellent personalities that play with and bounce off of each other, and it's clear that they have a large affection for games and the game industry, further cemented by their bonus episodes where they speak directly with developers. My favorite part of the podcast has to be the Multiplayer where they read listener responses to questions on their Facebook page, not only because it's a great way to interact with the hosts but it's also a chance for the hosts to open up about the subject they just gave the audience. 5/5
  • Cast Iron Brick
Good game talking from fun people.
I really enjoy Duckfeed.tv's content and this is no exception. Really insightful and entertaining discussion of games both as products and as an artful media. The hosts are kind, conscious people that are a relief from a lot of the personalities you hear from in the gaming community.

    Good Games with Good Friends
A lot of gaming podcasts trade quality for sincerity, or vice versa, but The Level is of the best caliber in production quality while also feeling a bit like enjoying a conversation with friends, beer in hand. Definitely a choice listen.

Disappointed, but for a silly reason
I love abject suffering, bonfire chat, etc - and I'm even a patreon donator. So I decided to try The Level out. I started at episode 105 and I'm disappointed. I think the main reason is the number of "ah's" and "um's" by the Asian podcaster. I had no problem with his accent, nor am I a racist at all, but with every "ah" a little bit died inside me. In fact it drove me crazy to the point of distraction where I couldn't focus on the content. Maybe just some additional editing is needed. Still giving it four stars though because, ah, Umbasa!
  • SpikedNalgene
    Excellent
Cool group of dudes who I'd love to listen to even if they weren't talking about video games. Also: they talk about video games!
  • Samuel Bair
    Awesome Gaming Podcast
Rather than another "gaming news" show from big journalism, this is a show where you get some real person on the street opinions on whatever the hosts happen to be playing. I've learned about a lot of cool indie games from these people, as well as many AAA games that I will never want to play, and everything in between.

    Great show
Great show.ive been listening to all the duckfeed casts for a while now.very funny and down to earth dudes.they really seem to enjoy what they do and genuinely like interacting with the audience

It's a good show if you can dig the style.
I started listening to another show on the network first, Bonfireside Chat, while I was playing through Dark Souls 1. Once I finished the run of the Dark Souls 1 episodes, I wanted something else to listen to, which led me to Abject Suffering, and then to other shows on the network. I mostly listened to very heavily produced, rapid fire podcasts before I found these and initially I thought the more relaxed style was slightly offputting. Once I realized that, hey, it's dudes talking about video games and there's no need to be in such a rush all the time, I found myself listening to this one over other video game news podcasts. Definitely give the one a try if you're on the fence at all.
  • AllisonByProxy
    Great entertainment for game fans!
A fun group of friends discuss everything that's going on in the games industry. Lots of great humor and good chemistry with all the hosts. Super high production values. Give this one a listen.

    Great video game news pod!
Serves to give an informative and often hilarious update into the world of weekly video game news. As with all vg podcasts the real fun starts once you get to know the members and can appreciate the insights they have with the appropriate context.
  • Slade7866
    Fun, Engaging and Informative
The show and hosts are engaging and personal and delivered in a familiar fashion so as not to feel dry or forced. These are people that you'd want to play the games they talk about with and they aren't just chatting about their own experiences either, they share industry news and give heads up on upcoming titles that are of interest. Highly recommend it for any gamer who wants to hear gaming news from the mouths of their fellows.

    Excellent perspective; well-balanced panel
*** Update for 9/14: *** The hosts of the Level CONTINUE insightful, respectful, and hilarious commentary for people who love video games. In recent broadcasts, they have broadened the panel of hosts to bring unique perspectives on gaming and society. My absolute favorite aspect of this podcast is how the hosts interact with their audience on a weekly basis. They have even introduced Twitch streaming so that we can all experience gaming in new and interesting ways. Support this podcast and support independent voices! The description for the Level is apt -- "a podcast for people who love video games" -- it's not just about video games, but it's more about video-game-influenced culture. They approach such topics as sexism in gaming culture, gaming mechanics as a form of storytelling, and even how one's opinion of a particular game evolves over time (I'm looking at you, Kole! Dark Souls!). I really appreciate the varying perspectives each host brings to the table. It's refreshing to hear and very uncommon in today's gaming media. While the podcast seems long if you glance at the track length, Kole does a pretty good job of keeping everyone on task without cutting people off. My only suggestion would be to involve some additional guests on the panel (females, perhaps?) as the show evolves. I've been listening since the Don't Tree (I introduced a friend to Dark Souls and this podcast was a hit on one of his Google searches) and I really hope the guys (and any girls, should they be in the rotation) keep this going!

    Well worth the time
So, I've been listening to this podcast for a long time now, and I love it. The guys cover news and both a mixture of new and old games. They always provide an intertaining read and I always eagerly anticipate the next level.

    Reeeeeaallll Nice
This is a very nice podcast. A nice mix of comedy, facts, and thought out opinions. It's a more relaxed podcast and I like that. The length of the podcast is also excellent.

    Gamer Guys Talkin' Shop
The Level is an awesome podcast in the Duckfeed.tv network, which focuses on current game news and reviews whatever the hosts are playing currently. The guys of The Level all have varying tastes, but there is enough overlap that there is discussion from multiple viewpoints on any given topic. A great show, with a variety of ways for listeners to get involved: Facebook and Steam, and also the Multiplayer prompts which are read and discussed on the show. Totally recommended!

totally well-concieved audio magazine about videogames!
The Level is a newcomer in a crowded space, but I'd put it on par with greats like "The Besties" and "The Indoor Kids". In fact, the content in each episode is so well-thought-out and varied that it actually makes other VG podcasts seem one-dimensional. There is discussion of not only new games, but gaming news, and also game culture in general, audience participation (which all Duckfeed shows are so great at!), and even the occasional quiz segment (which are awesome). If you're on the fence, definitely give this show a shot. They've got a weekly viewpoint you're not going to find elsewhere

    Contine to next level?
The Level is a really solid, 'non-professional' gaming podcasts that has found its way into my weekly rotation. I came to the show as a fan of one of the cohosts (Kole) other show, Watch Out for Fireballs and stuck around since they give me the things I'm interested in such as news and impressions of new releases as well as the interplay between all four cohosts. It's a standard format show but it's refreshing to hear some thoughts by people who don't get paid to review products for a living, these are guys I can relate to on a more day to day level.
  • Teencthulhu
    favorite current games podcast
super organized and yet pretty goofy. I like the overall flow of the episodes. Each speaker seems to bring a different opinion to each item being discussed which is a nice change of pace from podcasts that have several like minded folks. David Moneysmith's overall grumpiness towards most games is especially enjoyable. keep up the great work!
  • Justin Argle
    Intelligent discussions about video games
Great podcast for anyone into video games. Kole is a great host and each of the co-hosts bring something differant to the discussion.

One of the only video game podcasts I would ever listen to.
Truly a podcast for people who love video games. The hosts are genuinely interesting and entertaining. They discuss topics in ways that insightful. I am not someone who listen to video game podcasts but this one has got me hooked. If you don't download this you are missing out on something that is great!

    "Where are the game chips?!?!?"
Hosts with a passion for video games and a sense of humor. Funny, informative, and well organized. A great Podcast for any serious gamer.
  • Lankysam
    Insightful discussion on games!
The Level is my favorite all-purpose games podcast. Compared to this shows predecessor, Stand Under the Don't Tree and Riddle Me This, they've added a lot of well-needed structure to the show, and the result is a streamlined experience that is much more digestable. Here's what to expect: the hosts go over their thoughts and reactions to the games they've played in the past week, which serves as a nice appetizer to the meaty discussions on game mechanics and design choices (from the player's POV!) that happen in the second half. As with most podcasts, the personality and interaction of the cohosts is of supreme importance, and here they come up capable of deep discussions without wasting your time on hemming and hawwing through their thoughts.
