    Cloudy lens
Kai comes off positive but listen to a few podcasts back to back and he’s very negative. Not someone I can trust.

    Thank you!
Kai - been a huge fan for a very long time (across your shows) and just wanted to take a moment to say thank you!

    Kai still can’t get working
If you are gonna frack with your dedicated listeners, frack you. ( ask Molly to explain ‘frack’ ) if I listen to your ‘regular’ show and you are about to start an interview which is more complete here, please have the courtesy of telling us up front and just at the end so we do not have to listen to most of that twice if we want to hear the whole thing here. ( frackin’ radio guy, learn to be a podcast guy as well.) If this did not make you smart enough to understand, please ask everyone. Some will be able to explain it, even to you.

Just listened to an interview Kia did with Baby2baby Charity’s Directors . Was referred to the series from Marketplace, that I thoroughly enjoy. This charity says they stay focused on providing diapers and things for babies in poverty. No questions about how they connect with those in need, how people qualify for the free product, how easy it is for them to get it, how efficient the organization is with their resources, how much the founders make, why after they said they are focused in their mission, they then said they were branching out to do other things. Got the feeling that like too many interviewers, since they were a non-profit, there were no hard questions.

    Short and insightful
I just love Kai’s interview style, and I enjoy The Corner Office podcast because they are to the point, so it’s a quick listen. Generally Kai asks the same questions of each guest, which means you get a sense across many industries and individuals of how they tackle their role or see their company in the industry or market. Highly recommendable!!

Ed Bastian was a good show, really good
That show with Ed Bastian was one of your better ones lately. Obviously, he is a busy guy and held you to the 10 to 15 minutes limit that you must have agreed to. That limit really made you focus on important questions, and it also made you focus on getting rid of your typical pauses, slow motion questions and Segway’s. Don’t get me wrong, those three things are what makes Kai such an interesting guy to listen to and a terrific interviewer. But once in a while, it is really fun to see the speed limit increased, and the back and forth banter highlighted. Truth be told, I usually listen to the Corner Office podcast at 1.5 X speed to make them a little more zippy. Sure could not do that with this one. The other thing super about this interview, was, Kai asked the questions that big time, big company CEOs think about, and should be thinking about. The long term, the really long term. Hearing what Delta is thinking about doing 40 years from now was definitely a highlight. Again, I, you’re doing a great job. Love to listen to you, and Molly also. Thanks very much for helping to make life more interesting for little guys like me.
  • Update please
    Kai is a partisan
I would have enjoyed Jamie Dimon turning the table and interviewing Kai, who seems to have all the answers in advance (maybe from Barney Frank, Maxine Walters, or Elizabeth Warren) to the questions he asks.

    Always fascinating
For me there are no better podcasts covering business. As a CEO of a small company I can only hope that one day I’ll be “Corner Office” worthy.

    Great interviews
I love these interviews with business leaders. I only wish they were longer and we have an opportunity to delve deeper into issues.

    Great show
Thoughtful and insightful interviews. Kai does an excellent job at asking and eliciting responses to tough questions.

Great interviewer, but too emotional on any differing political opinion
I used to really enjoy this podcast, and I still give each episode a try. I find myself, not because my opinions differ, but because of the political anger from the interviewer, turning off more episodes than I would like to. Please just focus on your program and the interview.

    High quality content
Just listen. How else can you get into the minds of people of this caliber? Trust me, it’s worth it.

    Good listening, good guests
I enjoy these episodes but wish we could trade a little of the self referential interruptions for some harder questions. Kai got there with Jamie Dimon but didn’t get to reveal the underlying business model (commission? fllat rate?) of Real Real. Thank you APM and KR.

    Best CEO interviews
Kai does a great job with the CEO interviews and never lets them get away with giving a flippant answer on serious topics. The production quality is also amazing!

    Full discussions with interesting folks
I honestly wish every interview aired on Marketplace was uploaded in its entirety here. I love hearing the full conversations and the flow of discussion points.

    Keep up the good work!
UPDATE: Still listening to episodes that continue to give valuable insights into the C-suites of businesses new and old. Great job ladies & gentlemen. Just listened to the PayPal CEO episode, and it was fantastic. Thanks for the podcast, definitely subscribe!
  • Mike3803
    Well done!
Kai is one of the best interviewers I’ve listened to in a long time. He seems to make the guest feel comfortable while asking tough questions. Too bad he seems to love radio, I think he would be a great evening news guy on TV.

    Dunkin Donuts &?the Environment
It was an interesting interview with Nigel Travis. But...there was no discussion about DD’s foam coffee cups and the move away from them that the company announced last winter. Also, I would be interested to hear Me. Travis’ take on the movement against plastic straws.

    Overall, great podcast.
Kai does a great job interviewing CEOs. He allows them to speak without interruption, but still questions them on tough topics. I just started listen, but now it’s hard to stop. Would certainly recommend.

    Disappointed in Rissdahl
Been a long time fan of Kai Rissdahl. Great radio voice and I thought well informed. Listened to his hit piece on Mnuchin. Disappointed in the tone and lack of professionalism. If he wanted to disagree with the Secretary, no problem. But he sounded petulant and partisan. He was rude and had an unproductive attitude. I’m an economic conservative who devours NPR content and the like, so this isn’t about me disagreeing with his point of view. It’s about the tone. If Kai wanted to, he could have discussed why lower taxes can seem a boon to folks, and how demand side economics argue that’d create additional growth, of the sort Mnuchin and his ilk expect. Then, he could have explained why that isn’t like to come to fruition, discussing low labor participation or stagnant wage growth (which are weak points but at least better than his main one). Instead, he started badgering Mnuchin about how many companies have given one time bonuses. Yeah Kai, it’s been like one month since the bill passed—companies don’t just radically change wage policy that quickly. In any event, super disappointed. Great opportunity for an in-depth, thoughtful policy debate. Instead, it was Fox News/MSNBC-style partisan bickering. If you want to take a guy down, go beyond the headline talking points. Go deeper into policy. Don’t be a partisan hack. Step it up. Mnuchin is easily crushed on economic policy; instead, we got partisan chirping.

    Mnuchin Episode
The episode with Steve Mnuchin was a biting conversation both by the host and UCLA students. It was a great example of what’s in short supply - disagreement with a conversation nevertheless. Keep these kind of discussions (holding at schools is great) going and you’ll have a fan.
  • RPompetti
    Excellent.
Loved the interview with Steve Mnuchin and way to come armed with the facts.
  • Gotta choose a name not taken
Loved the episode about Susan Burton
I always enjoy Corner Office interviews, but the recent one featuring Susan Burton was particularly powerful. I would love to hear more like this.

The movers and shakers and Kye.
Short and sweet chats with heads of industries. So informative! Esp when it's an industry you never stopped to think about.

    Always interesting!
Corner Office is one of my go-to podcasts. I always learn something. I’ve picked up a few good book recommendations too. Sherry Lansing’s biography in particular. Thanks for covering the few female CEOs out there!!!
  • Efbrazil
Weak interviews that ignore charity and corporate responsibility
The questioning in this podcast is weak. Most outrageous to me, the recent interview with the tyson’s ceo had zero questions about animal welfare. Really, not even the certified humane label? Every ceo should also be asked about their charitable giving and pay gaps between the top and bottom of the company, but this podcast ignores those issues. With access comes responsibility!
  • Hyannistoolman
    Awesome!
Kai, I have to say I really like this podcast. It awesome to get the CEOs perspective on things and you selection of folks to interview has been great! I don’t normally review podcasts but wanted to ensure this one has the support to keep going! And yes... I’ve also donated :-)

More Corner Office - love it!
I’ve been a long-time fan of the NYTs Corner Office column and NPR. This is a great radio show - the perfect hybrid of two of my loves. I always learn so much about business, leadership, emerging trends in the US and international economies.

    Chief Content Officer
I loved the interview with Joanna Coles. Not a wasted word. I wonder what she listens to if anything, while walking her dog. Corner Office is my go to podcast for dog walking and Joanna’s interview was particularly refreshing. One or two minutes inside her brain would be exhilarating!!

    Marriott CEO Arne Sorensen
I work for Marriott and it is always great to hear our CEO speak about our company, economy etc. because he has such an amazing grasp on business politics and the humanity. I’m so happy to be a part of this great organization.

    Amazing access to top CEOs
I know Marketplace does 5 star interviews but combining that with some of the top CEOs in America is simply brilliant! One day is CEO of Microsoft, the next it's CEO of Marriott. Fascinating!!!
