The very least you could have done is to know the names of the characters in the story of which you speak about. Your speculations are so atrocious that I'm embarrassed for you. I can't say you know nothing of which you speak about but much more research could have gone into this which is too bad because I started off liking your pace and banter. Overall not a bad attempt but need more attention to details.

I first read The Hobbit about 12 years ago and it immediately became my favorite book. Secrets of The Hobbit has not only rekindled my love for this amazing tale but it constantly makes me want to go back and reread the book over and over again. The crew does a fantastic job of getting the listeners hyped up and ready for Peter Jackson's movies. Mixing humor with facts and some speculation from time to time they break down the latest and greatest news about The Hobbit and deliver a truly awesome podcast. Keep up the awesome job guys!

I love that they consider everything in Middle Earth as reality. The Hobbit has always been my favorite book of all time and the discussions bring back all the original joy of reading for the first time. I will have to replay all the episodes it they ever dis-continue.

The podcasters are fans and reasonable experts on Tolkien, knowledgable on all Christopher Tolkien has published. Where the movies diverge from the books, they note this and discuss it. They examine the latest news about the movies, dig deeply into the themes of the books, delve into the appendices of the LOTR, Silmarillion and Book of Lost Tales, get input from Dr. Cory Olson "The Tolkien Professor". A very satisfying podcast for life long fans and those new to the Tolkien universe.

I'm a big fan of the Tolkien books and movies and this is the perfect podcast to listen to as I reread The Hobbit and prepare to see the first Hobbit film by Peter Jackson. I love delving a bit more into the lore of the books and movies as I listen to this well done podcast. The hosts do a bang up job of bringing me back into that wonderful world of Tolkien.

I love this podcast because it's chock full of great information and speculation on the upcoming Hobbit movies by Peter Jackson. I'm also a big fan of Fr. Roderick who always has a great faith-based perspective on the material he discusses without being preachy or overbearing. Always entertaining and thought provoking.

A great Podcast for Hobbit Movie Fans!

Father Rodrick and Dave Kale puts a lot of effort into all of his podcasts and gives you so much good and fun information that you can sop it up with a biscut. My family listens to this podcast as soon as it is put on I-tunes. They eat it up and re-listen to most of these podcasts. My kids say that it motivates them to work harder as they listen to these while doing their chores in the salt mines. Great job...keep it up. By the way where was Dave at in Arkansas? We live in the Holy land too...Arkansas!

This podcast is a great way to keep up with what is going on with the new Hobbit movies. If you are like me, and don't have time to go to different websites, and check on the news this podcast lets you know what is happening.

Had to post for this again just because these episodes have gotten a lot better since last year. This is mainly because of all the new material in the new Hobbit trailer. I loved how Dave and Father Roderick spent so much time analyzing different aspects of the trailer, which really added a lot of depth to a video that was only 2:30min long. Lovin this podcast. You guys rule.

It was a special day when I discovered The Secrets of the Hobbits. What a great show!!! Those of you who remember all the anticipation, fun, and excitement surrounding the time leading up to each of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films will recapture the Tolkien spirit with these podcast. Great Show, Just the sort conversational style and information exchange that I have with friends at work when on luch or coffe break. I feed my ipod with this and other SQPN shows and it helps me get through the Boston traffic comfortably. In fact the other drivers probably wonder what I'm smiling or laughing about..

The first chapter book I ever read was the Hobbit. I remember I used to look for hobbits when I was young but never found any because they could hear us from a mile away. This podcast illuminated me to details I never saw when I read the book, and with the upcoming movies, it keeps me up to date with rumors, fun facts, and the occasional recording hiccup that makes me laugh.
