Just found the show and it is much better than any of the other chargers podcasts available. Much more in depth with none of the fluff Only critique is that it seems every episode I’ve listen to at some point it skips back a minute and a half or two and just keeps playing a repeat, I don’t know why it does that with every episode only with this podcast

They just lied about Drue Tranquill. They have no credibility. Noise. Oh, and Forrest lamp had 32.25 inch arms, not 33.25. I’m tired of Jamie just getting things inaccurate. Unacceptable.

Lightning Round Podcast is an excellent Chargers Podcast. I look forward to listening to Garrett and Jamie every week. However, that being said, please get rid of the Three Drink Minimum Podcast. Kyle Posey is a horrible analyst and I get tired of seeing his Podcast show up on my feed because I am subscribed to Bolts From The Blue for Lightning Round. Also, go Bolts! ⚡️

I listen to a plethora of pods constantly and the Lightning Round is by far the best I’ve ever heard. The quality is tremendous, the information they provide is worth paying for, and Garett and Jaime are a blast to listen to. Can’t say enough great things about these guys.

This is a really fun podcast, especially for Charger fans. My only complaint is I wish they would do more of them! It really is the best Charger podcast out there with honest and fair evaluations of players, coaches and front offices. I listen to a ton of podcasts in a variety of genres and this is, by far, my favorite sports podcast hands down. This is one that jumps to the front of my queue as soon as it drops. While clearly Chargers fans, these guys pull no punches. Whether it’s the Chargers or the Raiders (or Chiefs or Broncos, etc.)And they know their stuff and do the in depth research needed to bring insights that you won’t get anywhere else. Just listen to their episode on position reviews of LB/DB prospects before the 2018 NFL Draft. You will come away with next level insight into the players that are going to be drafted - and this is true for ALL their episodes. Ive been watching football for >40 years and I come away feeling like I know more after every listen. I don’t always agree with their opinions but they make their points well without the histrionics or biases of a lot of other sports podcasters out there. Outstanding work, guys!

These guys do an awesome job of covering important topics on a consistent basis. They always give solid explanations and facts to back up their opinions and you learn quite a bit listening to them. Unlike some podcasts, I don’t feel like I’m listening to an hour of pop culture, I want to listen to a podcast about football and these guys bring it in a great way while still have a little fun while hosting. Great show!!

Real chargers insight with no sugar coating like you get from most of the media.

The LRP is THE ONLY podcast that anyone who roots for our beloved Chargers should follow. Not only are Jamie and Garrett extremely comprehensive, accurate, and dedicated; they bring tremendous passion and creativity to their shows. The LRP is a needed lifeline, and a therapeutic outlet, for the fans of a team that constantly experience tremendous joy and frustration almost simultaneously. Excellent job guys!

I watch and wait patiently every week for this podcast to come up. These guys know their stuff, put in the time and effort to study all the tape, and really care about this team that ownership so carelessly left them heartbroken. I’ve gotten into the habit of listening twice so that everything sinks in. If your a Chargers fan, or even just a fan of good football analysis, then this is your podcast.

These guys do an incredible show, watching and re-watching games, looking at individual positions and players to give honest evaluations. Unlike some other Chargers fan podcasts and sites, they give honest criticism when it’s warranted. The amount of work they put into their draft prep speaks VOLUMES about their dedication to the show and the listeners.

I’d like to give it 3.5 stars but that’s not an option. I gave it 4 just to show some love.... First what I do like is how many topics they cover about the Chargers and each episode is almost an hour long. They really go into depth and I love that they cover the build up to the draft. What I don’t like is how they, more so Jamie, tend to speak as if he’s more knowledgeable than the coaches and front office. Too many times he gives his opinion in a condescending tone as if it’s fact and not actually just his opinion. Jamie’s cussing gives off a negative/cynical tone and it just sounds extremely unprofessional and immature. I also think it would be better to have 2 host who don’t have almost the exact same opinion on almost everything. It’s like this.... one of them gives his opinion on a topic while the other waits his turn to share his opinion on the said topic and then repeats almost the exact same thing. It’s repetitive. IMO just like any other show/podcast, the more popular ones consist of 2 hosts who tend to have differing viewpoints on topics. This way you cater to more of the audience, we get to hear differing perspectives and have more of an opportunity to hear a host that may see things how we see it. This may lead to a larger portion of the audience feeling like they’re opinions are validated by at least one of the hosts. That’s my biggest gripe with the show. Personally I’d like to see Jamie replaced by a fun/energetic personality who shares different viewpoints from Garrett. I honestly feel like Jamie brings down the quality and energy of the podcast. This podcast has the potential to be really good if Garrett had a better cohost.

I can’t imagine getting through the good and the bad of a Chargers season without Garrett & Jamie. These guys are the best at what they do and that’s bring us an awesome Chargers podcast every week. Can’t wait till they get there daily radio show. I’d be listening everyday. Keep up the amazing work gentlemen.

I'm a huge Chargers fan, but I currently live overseas so it's hard to stay informed. The show's hosts are passionate, but objective. They really take the time to study tape and bring informed opinions. Plus, they can be pretty funny and entertaining. If you are a true fan, you should definitely give it a listen.

I remember when TLR Podcast first showed up on my BFTB Podcast subscription box. I listened to the show that first time I saw it and I haven't missed one episode since that day. Sometimes I wonder, "Do other fanbases have podcasts like this? If not, I feel sorry for them." These two guys hold my attention for an hour a week, with humor, truth, insight and passion for the football team we all hate to love so much. I would like to thank them with this review. My weeks would be horribly incomplete without the pleasure of listening to their show after Chargers games and in the offseason.

Appreciate the in depth analysis that you guys provide. Keep up the great work!

Garrett and Jamie are my go-to guys for Chargers information. They are knowledgable but have a good time. I'm surprised how much I've learned from them about the Chargers and Football and I've been a fan of the team for 40 years. They do a really nice job of staying sober and analytical, even when the Chargers are infuriating! Their special episodes (last year's Serial parody in particular) are really terrific.

This is the best Chargers podcast around hands-down. The guys know what they're talking about and they do countless hours of research and tape watching. If you're looking for insight on the Chargers then this is the podcast for you. Also their draft research is amazing

I don’t know a lot about football. Terms likes a “12” offense make me wonder, “What the hell is that?” Garrett Sisti and Jamie Hoyle, the two Lightning Round guys, explain it to me (1 running back, 2 tight ends). And in a way that doesn’t make me feel stupid. They ask for questions over Twitter. My questions are far from brilliant. But Garrett and Jamie answer them on the podcast — without making me feel like a know-nothing. Sometimes I’ll just @ them with a comment on Twitter. They actually reply. Very un-celebrity-like of them. They know their football. They watch a lot of games on tape, study the tape, take notes and prepare. They’re not just shooting off their mouths. They’re analysis can be prescient. And they know the broadcast medium. They’ve done parodies of TV's “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show” and the podcast “Serial.” Parody is hard, but these guys pull it off better than the pros. They’re passionate. The San Diego Chargers, the team this podcast is devoted to, is not run very well. It is not coached very well. Last year, the Chargers won only four games (some bloggers and journalists were predicting they’d make the playoffs). The season was just awful. When things were at their most exasperating, Garrett and Jamie would commiserate with us, the fans, letting the podcast reach deep into foul-language territory, but not just for foul language’s sake. They were exasperated, too. And entertaining as …. I love this podcast. I look forward to it. I listen to it as soon as it downloads. If you’re a Chargers fan, you too will love this podcast. It’s more informative than any San Diego sportswriter or sportscaster. And sometimes, it’s even more fun than watching the games. Thanks for doing the show, guys.

I have been listening to these two football dudes (nerds) talk (banter) Chargers football since they first aired this podcast about two years ago. I seriously look forward to every episode as if it where the last. Jamie and Garret are, in my opinion, true Charger fans who live and die with the team but also are not afraid to point out areas where the team can improve. They are extremely knowledgeable, and even called for the Bolts to pick Joey Bosa way back in 2015 when the Chargers and Head Ball Coach Mike McCoy where tanking harder than a disloyal mobster wearing concrete boots. If you love the San Diego Chargers, why are you not listening to The Lighting Round Podcast?
