Beyond with Mike Kelton

335

Beyond follows the journey of comedian and self proclaimed “energy expert”, Mike Kelton, as he tries to solve his real life problems via supernatural means. Instead of going to a therapist, Mike goes to mediums, psychics, witches, astrologers and more. Can a hypnotist cure him of his Diet Coke habit? Is a doorman on the Upper West Side his guardian angel? Can he use his powers as an empath to exorcise a demon from a thrift store in the East Village? And for the love of God, can anyone tell Mike if he should move to to LA!? Whether you’re a believer or not, join Mike for an open-minded, hilarious, and emotional journey through the incredible world of all things spiritual, spooky, and downright BEYOND! Produced by Mike Kelton Productions.

    Wonderful podcast
I LOVE this podcast. It is a great mix of spirituality and comedy. I am also a fellow queer (a lesbian no less), and I appreciate you being open with including your partner’s perspective in this podcast. It’s very sweet :)

    Speaking to my soul
I just found this pod yesterday and I firmly believe the universe brought it to me as a gift. I’ve been going through a rough time lately and every day is a new struggle, but I’m always trying to keep my heart open to opportunities or ideas I might not know even exist. I love Mike’s openness and vulnerability, and I think he’s right on with his knowledge quest and embracing the woowoo. The older I get, I feel more connected and less guarded. I really enjoy getting to share in Mike’s experiences as I’m working through my own. Also, he’s hilarious and charming and just absolutely lovable. 😊💜

    Truly lovely
It’s hard to put one’s finger on what makes this podcast so special. Mike is delightful and funny. His “journeys” each season are somehow both lighthearted and deeply affecting. I think he presents them in such a way that even though his experiences are quite specific he allows space to emotionally project one’s own experiences onto them. We all have grief. We all have big questions. We all search for meaning. I love this podcast. I love Mike and his emotionality and his care and kindness in everything he does and how he interacts with the world. He is great and as long as he makes more Beyond I will listen.

So glad you’re back! And a story to share.
Mike! I am so incredibly glad the pod is back. I have a story I wanted to share with you about how your podcast helped awaken my spiritual journey as my husband and I became dads. I finally found time to start listening to Season 3 today, and hearing your voice again sent a zing down my spine in a very surprising way. All of a sudden, I had a wave of sense memory and realized that the inception of your podcast aligned with my spiritual awakening, and became a big impetus for me to stay curious. On Sept 23 2018 (my 33rd birthday), my husband and I were sitting in a doctor’s office holding hands with our daughter’s birth mom. We had just met her for the first time the day before. She was 8 months pregnant, and we were there for a sonogram. I was overwhelmed with emotion but so deeply thrilled and happy that our adoption journey had led us to that room, connecting with a strong, amazing woman and the baby in her belly we hoped would be our daughter. After a few minutes of weird shapes floating in and out of focus, it happened. Our daughter’s face appeared and all of a sudden my world was never the same. The only way to describe it was a download from the universe - in an instant, I knew her. That she was healthy, that she was unquestionably our daughter, even her personality. Her birth mom and my husband told me later that me knees buckled when her face came into focus. Ever since that day, my experience of the world has been so much richer in texture. I’d always had a faint sense of intuition, but suddenly that faint sense became a deeply soulful sense of the world. Today I looked back at the date your first episode aired - Sept 25, 2018 - 2 days after that incredible day. Listening to your podcast was such a fun way to keep that spark alive during a very special time for our family, and based on how I lit up upon hearing today’s ep, made a lasting impression on me all these years later. Our daughter just turned 5, and our son (I knew in my bones since she was a tiny baby that a baby brother would come to us) just turned 1 and we’re the luckiest daddy and papa on the planet. Sorry for the novel - hope this gave you a smile! Thanks for the laughs and the inspiration. ✨❤️👨‍🍼

    Spooky ooky yet feel good
This pod isn’t one you turn on for background noise while driving home. This the one you see a new ep and he’s got your attention the entire time….Like I am physically at my desk but I aint workin Carol. I rarely recall any podcast past a few weeks but I could talk about every ep in detail! The range of topics and cast of characters keep me coming back for more. I’ve cried, had to leave the lights on and most of all laughed out L. Never leave me again!

    SO MAGICAL
This podcast is LIFE (and afterlife)!!! I binged seasons one and two, went through a weeklong withdrawal, and thankfully season three began at that point. Hilarious, poignant, and sometimes chilling—this is the podcast for anyone who has wondered what lies beyond the things we see in the physical world. I can’t wait to hear what’s next!

    Great pod!
Love this pod—it has a great host, subject matter, and format. Mike is so funny and his experts and other guests are very well chosen. A must-listen for Halloween or truly any other time, as Mike is always giving you new ways to think about life, death, and everything…Beyond!!

    Beyond is BEYOND.
This is my fav pod, ever. I can recall every ep - even ones from 3 years ago. Mike has a way of bringing a levity to the spooky that feels akin to do a ouiji board with your best friends on a middle school sleepover. It’s that kind of energy. The editing and production is next level; between added foot steps, thoughtful music composition, and well-written/performed narration, it’s a 10 out of 10. Listen to this pod. That’s all. You’re welcome

    Have a listen.
I started this podcast some days ago. The weather just got colder, and fall was setting in. The advertisements for this pod were fun, full of whimsy and spiked my curiosity. I started with episode one of season three. I was immediately entertained by the music, sound effects, and subject matter. (Spoiler ahead) I too was dealing with some negative energy, when it came to my next door neighbor, and found the episode to be very insightful! After finishing the episode, I decided to go back to season one episode one (recorded back some years ago). And I was pleasantly surprised episode one season one, held my attention and entertained me as much as the most recent episode of season three did! The storytelling by the hosts/cast/special guests are strikingly interesting, humorous, and come from a place of true experience. So now I need to pour myself a glass of wine, cheers my BF, for I have discovered my new favorite podcast! Skeptics beware! But also, have a listen. You just might learn something (or at least be entertained!).

    Episode 5
Episode 5, how precious. I haven’t moved on to 6 yet, but this episode was so moving, I held my phone (that was on speaker)close to my ear and stopped everything I was doing, without realizing it. The fact that Patrick very quickly put your mind at ease about your partner was a higher power working through, I believe. The stories with Victor and Chris, also special.

    Season 1 AmAZE
Season 1 is amazing. Super funny and engaging. Loved every bit of it. Season 2 while being super touching and interesting- not as engaging as Season 1. Some of the best content in Season 2 is not when Mike Kelton is looking for his “guardian angel” but when he interviews other people with their stories of connection and friends who have passed. Definitely still worth a listen, but hoping for more of Season 1 in the next one.

I am in this current conundrum of finishing my complete binging of this podcast over the past week and not wanting it to end! This podcasts is so unique and in one hand I love it for that—and in the other am frustrated that I can’t quench my thirst for more with another podcasts similar bc well, there isn’t one. It is so wholesome and full of personality and just really makes you feel less lonely. Everything anyone could ever want in a pod. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! Release more eps ASAP plznthxkbye

    Season 2: Sublime Story Telling
The love, kindness, and connection that filled this season was sublime. I loved the spooky stuff too, but even there Mike found empathy, compassion and a willingness to be real about the complexity of human life (and death). The combination of kooky-spooky hilarity with real-deal heart-felt spiritual seeking was unique and wonderful. Thank you Mike for being daring enough to ask the question that launched this season, and generous enough to share your discoveries. I listened to the final episode many times over because I didn’t want it to end. Can’t wait for Season 3!

    Favorite podcast EVER
🔮🎉💕✨👏🏻My friends and I are obsessed with this podcast! Mike Kelton is an icon... a magic-maker, and a trendsetter! We have adopted all the lingo “synchronish, bish” and “I. L.” and “Carol!!!” When season 1 came out - the past life segment was breathtaking and inspired me to get my own which totally changed my mindset. Thank you Mike for sharing your “good eng” with the rest of the “uni.” Your sweet spirit totally comes across and shines through the pod... getting us through our days and bringing so many giggles and warm feelies into our lives. 🎉👏🏻🎉👏🏻🎉✨✨✨ There are not enough podcasts like this. This one will sprinkle magic & love across the hearts of all who listen 💜🔮💜🥳🎉👏🏻👏🏻

The Patrick Visit Episode was all loooovvvve
The finale ep was the best Xmas present for all of us and especially for you. So happy that Michael reunited w/Patrick and was able to express gratitude of what he meant to his life. Hope there’s more Patrick’s out there, we need them!

    Wow!
Just wow! Mike is amazing in the podcast world. Start from the beginning but know that it just gets better and better.

Season Two is forced beyond belief.
Season one was a wonderful little venture down the road of mysticism and the occult. Each episode was a treat and I couldn’t wait for more. Season two is a series of eye rolls and mumbling “this guy is serious” under my breath. The supplemental fluff of “What so you B?” is so unbearable that I can’t make it through Mike’s giggles.

    The pod I needed!
I ~love~ this podcast. It brings so much beautiful energy into my life like for real for real. The stories are so genuine and human it makes me feel connected to the universe/people/myself. Thank you Mike!

Mike is the best! I love his insight and story telling!

Season one good, season 2 bad
Season 1 was great. Season 2 is thin, diluted, convoluted. It feels like it’s trying to stretch a single episode’s content into an entire season, diluting it with content that is basically just chatting with whomever about whatever, and hoping we don’t notice, the way you might cut up the food on a kid’s plate and spread it out so it looks like a lot. This season (2) should have perhaps been called something else entirely, or should have waited until something could be made in the vein of season 1.

    Supernatural experiences
I recently came across your podcast and as of today, I’m all caught up. I’m not typically someone that would ever leave a comment or share personal experiences with a stranger, but I feel like you’re so open-minded to the unexplainable, judgement free. Honestly, I’ve had so many experiences it’s difficult to quantify them all. Here’s the highlight reel: 1. Maternal great grandmother told me she was a black witch and had cast a spell against my mother. My grandfather (her son)and I were close so she wouldn’t do the same to me. Age 4ish 2.Poltergeist activity - age 10 3. My sister and I had the same dream and it woke us both up. We jumped up and met in the hallway in the middle of the night. We both dreamed that the doors were unlocked and a man was going to break in and kill us all. We ran downstairs and sure enough, all the doors were unlocked. Age 16 4. One of my closest friends was killed our senior year. I have horrible survivors guilt because I almost went with her. I dreamt of the accident every night for about 6 months. One night she came to me and stood and the end of my bed and told me to “knock it off” she was fine and she would always be looking out for me. Age 17 5. I was driving a car with my children, grandmother, cousin, and sister. My son was crying hysterically and I asked my cousin to take him out of his car seat (never done that before) and put a blanket over his body. Maybe 1 minute later, I see headlights coming straight at us with no time to react. I heard someone say turn the wheel (no one in my car) which I jerked to the right. The big old 80’s solid metal car hit us almost head on, had I not jerked the wheel. The left side mirror went through the side window and hit my sons car seat (where his head would have been) leaving an indentation. We all walked away with cuts, scrapes, and bruises. They guy was so blitzed he kept driving and they found him at another bar down the road. Age 22 6. My mother-in-law invited a medium over and we each had about 30 minutes one-on-one with her. The first thing she told me was I had a female guardian angel, then she proceeded to name her. It was the same name as my friend that passed my senior year. Age 39 There’s much more but it already sounds incredulous, so I guess this will suffice. There IS life beyond this realm. Blah, blah, blah all that stuff just to tell you I enjoy your podcast, topic matters, and your vivacious personality. Love and peace! Michelle

    The Upside Down…perhaps not
Powerful episode and story telling based on actually events. Following the arc of the narrative one reaches a point where everything seemingly resolves itself and you are in a safe place. Or perhaps not. There is still one more door to close. Irony can be so powerful.

    best ever!!
Mike is producing pure JOY and light. a necessary listen to lift your spirit and open your mind every week (and multiple times a week, even, which is goals!)

    DARLING & SPOOKY POD!
Mike is BEYOND kind, which alone makes you want to support the pod. I have really enjoyed listening to the episodes interviewing people on what they believe, because it really opens your mind to a much larger variety than you encounter in day to day life. But, I am also SO here for the spook. Love the episodes exploring the park, cure thrift shop...dare I say more? A must listen for anyone even mildly interested in spooky stuff, but also getting in touch with your inner curiosities on the beyond.
