HP_LibrarianGood content, poor productionThese folks know their women’s basketball and have lots of interesting opinions. Interesting interviews and insights, BUT the production quality is poor. The audio is iffy and many of the hosts mumble. An exception is Missy H. A few speech lessons and better mikes would make this a five star plus podcast. And you can skip the Saturday podcast all together. Again hosts are very knowledgeable but not at all professional.

The-embassyUnprofessional audio.I get that these are journalists, but please have at least a little professionalism when speaking into, when used correctly, sensitive microphones. Howard whistles through his teeth, Jackie makes so many audible ‘mouth noises’ that her pods are literally unlistenable. With the tongue clicking, lip smacking and breathing through her teeth. I love the content, but please have someone that has had some on-air training. I can’t get what I believe is quality content, if I’m too distracted by the unprofessionalism and lack of self-awareness when speaking into a microphone.

Jasbo121Expansion Draft EpisodeI was so looking forward to the Expansion Draft episode but it was just a big mess. Talking over each other, not coming to any consensus, giggling too much. If Em Adler had not been there it would have been so much better. Also not sure they understood the rules and kept mixing up protected and cored players.

KarenBog3 dorky guys on speedThis is a good podcast when Howard Megdal is the host, but Hunter Cruse and his sidekicks are unbearably idiotic, misogynistic, and badly in need of an editor to kibosh this super-pleased-with-themselves stream of consciousness they subject audiences to. Also - fix your sound balance. Every person speaking on the podcast should be at the same sound level.

Makanda DawnWatching men’s sports while podcasting?I can’t believe the hosts of this show were loudly watching and commenting on men’s college football while they were doing a podcast about women’s basketball. I also love men’s college football but I can’t say I’ll listen to this podcast again. Poor audio quality and now the manspread, not worth my time.

InfusionP@nd@Audio QualityThe audio quality of this pod is sometimes fine, and sometimes so bad. The most recent episode about WNBA rookies was so hard to listen to. In the middle of the podcast(7:40ish minutes in) they’re talking about whatever their watching. What?! This is a podcast, can you be focused on what you’re doing. They’re talking over each other, this episode was all over the place. You can hear sirens in the background🤦🏻♀️. This particular episode seemed like the main host was unprepared, and the episode as a whole had no flow. Really disappointing cause I’ve listened to multiple episodes and other hosts seem vastly more prepared and pardon the pun but they seem locked on to whatever they’re talking about. The only reason this is getting a three and not something lower is because I’ve listened to other episodes and the topics were interesting and the conversation had a natural flow, and everyone felt engaged and focused. When the people on the pod started commenting in whatever they were watching I was like ok, I need to review cause that was so bad, at least edit it out.

Lisa LRNew mics!Love the content but please take up a collection for new mics. The audio quality is so bad that I sometimes hesitate to listen if I’m doing something that doesn’t guarantee absolute silence. Can’t listen on a walk, for example. Please fix this and you will TRULY be everyone’s first listen every day! 😊

Dot_301Production QualityContent great. Production quality debatable. I’m happy to see more WNBA pods out there. This one piqued my interest because I listen to Locked On Panthers. That said, the production quality is this pod is so hit or miss I don’t always make it to the end which is disconcerting.

lsh2123AudioGreat pod but please improve the audio quality.

ilovethewizardsadding to the chorus of people screamingplease buy some decent microphones

Ez6767Love the pod, please spend $100 on a microphone.Title.

TheLastAlecBad audioContent is good, audio quality is embarrassing. Get new mics!
-
sj$$$$$Bad audioPlease please please improve your audio on this podcast. Using your computer microphone instead of an actual microphone for a podcast is not acceptable. Also, bring audio based content, think about how you are speaking. All the fast talking and mumbling makes for a really poor listening experience. I want to listen to the full episode but I almost give up part way through because I can’t understand and follow the discussion.

timzes54Needed Pod!As someone getting into betting women’s college basketball, this pod is essential. They are informative and entertaining, a winning combo. I only wish Locked On had a daily WCB pod, as I don’t follow WNBA (I’d love to, this years 2 power teams scared off bettors. Need parity). Keep up the good work! WCB is great.
-
midohaAudio QualityI love this content but I IMPLORE you to improve the audio quality. Howard’s is close to unintelligible.

team werkDTNo episode on DT breaking the scoring record?
-
EAW1228Audio quality takes away from enjoying thisI really would like to continue listening to this podcast but the audio is terrible. Howard’s is especially poor, which makes it hard to enjoy.
-
Dart5115Horrid audioHard to enjoy the podcast with the annoying audio quality. One star from me. ⭐️

JCW@1Terrible audio quality! Are you serious??? The Saturday boys’ poor audio quality and lack of ability to clearly enunciate their words make trying to listen to their content futile. Just listed to Howard and Gabriella. Yes LSU won the national championship and deserve all of the accolades coming their way…as does Angel. However, totally missed the point of the incredible streak So. Car put on since last yr SEC tournament loss to Ky. And it took a perfect storm of Iowa’s offense, sketchy referee calls that nullified Boston, calls that also affected the title game, and poor shooting that finally resulted in a narrow defeat. Congrats to So. Car., the incredible senior class, and Staley…a very important part of the story!

tylermiamiLove itLove podcast but please fix audio quality on some episodes
-
lmnopeteStep into a closet or something.Decent coverage, horrible audio and background noise. Almost unlistenable audio.
-
Mama31012HorribleHoward makes for a dreadful host
-
Meagh KIckKnow your facts and hold your bias. You gave incorrect info on sun players and referred to teams as ugly or pretty.

sassynoaKeep it coming!!Great daily WNBA content with best writers giving locker room perspectives. The investment is genuine and in depth. Request to please cover the Merc more often? I feel like the coverage has been disproportionate towards some teams. Also I don’t plan on listening to the NBA locked pod bc who cares about mens basketball. in the NBA locked on. Commercial they say to make them their first listen, I wonder do they advertise their listeners to tune in to your WNBA podcast? Just some ptsd from mens sports. Anyway keep it up very grateful to you and the intelligent staff.

DaantidoteGood content / terrible sound qualityThe content and topics are great but unfortunately the sound quality is so bad that it really takes away from the pleasure of listening to them to the point where you have to stop at times. Also reading 2 commercials in a podcast of 20min is not helpful. If efforts were equally put into the sound as much as they already put into the interviews and their drive in highlighting women sports to the forefront then it would be a 5 star podcast

Caitlin_A_MGuest - learn how to pronounce names!A recent guest on the 3/25 show - Emme, I think? - repeatedly mispronounced players’ names. It’s not “ah-zzi,” but instead Ay-zzi Fudd; it’s not Olivia Nelson-“ohdawda” but instead Olivia Nelson-ohdodea. And these aren’t like…not well known players. I love Howard Megdal but these guests must be vetted. Got the impression she hadn’t ever really watched a UConn game and was reading stat sheets purely.

Bckbck113Need to improve qualityI appreciate the consistent coverage of the WNBA, but the quality of these podcasts really vary. Some are completely unedited to the point that they are unlistenable. Want to listen but you have to put out a product I can listen to. Additionally, the single-host episodes often don’t work well. Maybe look at ways to make sure there are two people on each episode?
-
mschin3Great PodReally enjoying this pod as I’ve started to get more invested in the W! Only criticism I’d have is that Howard’s mic/sound quality could be improved. I love his interviews but they’re hard to listen to and understand at times.
-
rototillerSound quality pulls this pod downAppreciate the podcast but the sound and mixing (ads back into regular show can blow out your ears) and interview sound quality is especially terrible. Also yes, the mouse clicks are distracting. Makes it tough to listen and even consider/hear content.
-
FjkfhjvfjnTerribleI’m sorry but the production is terrible, the hosts are not so great, the topics don’t make sense to a new fan. Really a shame that the WNBA doesn’t have any good podcast outlets or YouTube channels for new fans to get engaged.

Ryan9876653838Could be so much better!I know there are very few women’s basketball podcasts, as this was one of the only ones I could find. However, it could be so much better! Your Sweet Sixteen “analysis” was just you reading off the matchups going down the bracket..... anybody can do that! Give us details about the matchups, how the teams got there, what the storylines are going into every game. The only one you really touched on was Iowa/UConn, but even that was pretty short and sweet. Talk about teams you think are showing great potential and others that are supposed to be good but you have your doubts about. I was just expecting so much more when I listened. The way this podcast was run, it was hard to tell if the host even watched the Women’s NCAA Tournament games.

MariaP113UnderwhelmedFirst and last time listening.. I was excited to listen to the UConn Vs. South Carolina game review until it became about Paige Bueckers and her white privilege. White or black the girl can ball. Why did it have to become about race?
-
Grove0127Extremely bad SEC previewIt’s like they have never watched SEC women’s basketball. Regurgitate what general news says, no perspective on Mississippi State even though they are #6 team in the nation. Just awful insight on other teams other than USC, typical (oh, Carolina just got beat by NCS). So get off the “Cocks”!!!
-
Terrible IGBetter Transition! The transition from interview to commercial is terrible!! Howard asks a question, and either it goes to commercial or it cuts off the full question! Why can’t you place the commercial after the guest answers a question! Something like “we’ll be right back after these messages!” Also Howard needs to allow the guest to finish answering the question. Too many times he cuts them off. We listen for the guests, not to hear Howard.
-
El CebeGreat conversationsHoward - great conversations with great figures in the game. One bit of constructive criticism: the mic picks up your mouse clicking/keyboard typing on occasion and I have to say it drives me nuts.
-
mffromazInterviewing guests and background noiseI am a new WBB fan. I love listening to podcasts that interview players. It can be hard to follow the podcast when guests are performing activities in the background, e.g. walking, errands, and TVs. Just a helpful tip for those of you who we are trying to get to know better. Your fans are really interested in what you have to say just with a few technology considerations. Thanks for all of your hard work Howard.... you are awesome!
-
wbb qweenMust listenThe in-depth and thoughtful coverage women’s sports needs/deserves!
-
mjhendGreat in-depth coverageAfter such an amazing first weekend of the 2017 NCAA women's tournament, I was searching for a podcast that offered in-depth analysis and commentary. This is what I was looking for! So happy to have a smart and engaging review of women's basketball. Thank you!
-
hannigan2017Fun and thoughtful analysisI really enjoy this podcast for WNBA news. Howard has interesting guests and is clearly very dedicated to women's basketball. The audio is shaky sometimes but it's still definitely worth listening.
-
vmaioneWomen's basketballGreat insight into women's basketball -- on the college and pro levels.
-
TheCrazyUncleGood News/Bad NewsGood News: Love the guests, content, discussions. Bad News: The audio splits the speakers by channel. Howard in my left ear, the guest in my right ear. Makes the pdocast almost unlistenable with earbuds/headsets. Use the speaker to get better sound. Fix this and it's 5 Stars! Update: Episode 10 is out and all is well. Thanks for the fix! Up to 5 stars.
-
samletsReally enjoying so far!Sharp commentary and good guests, so despite some audio problems, overall a great first few episodes for this pod. Most open WBB season in years and glad it's getting this sort of coverage!
