Yay! A great podcast! Wait - only how many episodes?
It was so great to find a really, truly wonderful podcast ... and so depressing to realize that there were only 10 episodes back in 2019. There are thousands of items still to be explored, Mr. Mandvi! Or thousands of other museums to get lost in! The world needs more of this podcast! Or, well, I do; I shouldn't speak for the world ...

I’d love for this series to continue to each of the various branches of the museum. So fun and made me think of familiar things from my childhood in a whole new way.

    Family Friendly
Interesting historical information. My kids (ages 15 & 11) even enjoyed listening to some of the episodes about things they were familiar with (like the BeeGees, Muppets, etc.). Hoping that more will be made.

    Smithsonian
I live outside of DC and love the Smithsonian museums. I’ve been through them all, but there is so much to see. Aasif is a fantastic actor and hearing his voice is like listening to a friend.

    A Buried Gem
This exploration of selected bits of the Smithsonian's pop/entertainment archives is surprisingly wonderful. The surprise is that, although the individual episodes certainly contain the commentaries on society that you would expect, they take turns that you might not. And Aasif Mandvi is the perfect guide. He is both an avid fan, but also a comic with a subbtle touch. Love that guy.

    Waiting for season 2
This is interesting from start to finish. Even the topics I didn’t initially have an interest in were good.

When is season 2 coming out?!
I really hope that there’ll be a second season! Such a fun show and great for family car rides. Also, episodes we short enough to listen intently yet long enough to really get the substance in!

    Entertaining but Contrived
Aasif is a very entertaining speaker. He brings a great energy and personalization to the subject matter. The social justice virtue signaling becomes predictable and repetitive. He works it into his narrative even when the story does not dictate it (like Jose Felciano’s guitar). Overall, it was an fun and engaging series that gets a bit too preachy. Worth a listen.
  • LindaJeane
    Thank you
The first ten were great. Each as fine as the one before. And so much more to explore. Hopefully soon!

    Amazing
This podcast is amazing, it is both educational and entertaining. I look forward to episodes. Some listeners get so upset about pointless things, and can’t even get Asif’s name right. Only complaint is that some listeners need to take a chill pill

Where pop culture and history intersect, that’s my jam!! This hits the spot - bullseye!! The host is a fantastic guide, the archivists are knowledgeable and charming, the exploration of the items (and what a great variety for season 1!) was entertaining, engaging and endearing. I really hope to see another season (or 12) of this show!!

    Fantastic! More please!
Great museum ed. Great pop culture ed. Great American history ed. This should be a never-ending series as the collections at the Smithsonian could easily support 50 years of such a podcast!
