SewistJstarr4250But where are Marlo and Phil??It's been over two years since Phil and Marlo's last episode. They are very much missed and I hope they are well, however perhaps it's time to rename the podcast. A few random and unrelated podcasts have appeared and it's quite puzzling.

Azka BhattiSeason 2?Is there going to be another season with the other 20 out of 40 couples interviewed. I hope so. Would love to hear from them.
-
jenhawaii27Hoping for more episodesI love this podcast so much, I especially love the easy conversational interviewing style that Marlo and Phil have. Everyone always talks about how love starts, but what makes a successful relationship last is such a helpful subject. Thank you!

gyuitrA real treat!I so hope Marlo and Phil continue this podcast. It is so enjoyable to listen to and I wished each episode would go on longer. One of my top podcast recommendations!
-
cybrgkHanging with FriendsMissing my friends Marlo and Phil. Hoping they are ok and come back soon. This is one of my fave podcasts. I’ve learned so much about marriage from them and their guests and I’ve been married for 11 years! Lol

Rhyminrichie4 Stars with a commentThis might not be fair because I’ve only heard one episode, but my initial reaction for what it’s worth is this:.I was really looking forward to hearing both of you again -Especially the great Phil Donahue and his interviewing. I think Marlo sounds great.. Very natural in her interview style…But I’m a big fan of both of you and I was surprised that Phil sounds so scripted- almost announcer-ish…He was always so off-the-cuff on his show throughout the years. I kind of want him to sound “looser”.. But I like the concept of the podcast and I wish you luck

Fun1894UghFour commercials in first ten minutes and one was a repeat. Why so many? It’s not like you have to struggle with monetizing.
-
Janet in BothellDouble dateI love this show - they are great interviewers and the guests have been so interesting - so fun to hear how all these different relationships work!

JenDonohueWhat Makes a Marriage Last! What a perfect companion piece to the book! Being married 20 years, it was such a treat to read the book and the insights and stories, then to follow it up with the interviews here! Fantastic! My only fear is now after the first batch (series), they push it to a subscription based podcast (please don’t). If anyone hasn’t read the book, please do! It’s such a fantastic book and these podcasts compliment it so well. You won’t be disappointed.

Sweetpea1116I have learned so much from this podcast. My husband and I have been married 20 years and almost every podcast I listen to, I find something I can draw on. Not to mention that Marlo’s story is my story. I married a man who was raising his 4 kids on his own and she validated so much if what I went through, because it wasn’t a typical step mom situation. I raised these kids. Apart from that every week, I tell my husband “honey, you have to listen to this.” I have learned things that we should be better about and I have learned things I don’t want to do or be by listening. And yes, I, too, was crying at the end of Michael J Fox and Tracy Pollan. Wonderful. Can’t wait for season 2.
-
A independent voterWonderful podcastFabulous! Such great questions. Makes you think more about your own marriage. Michael J Fox and Tracy Poland’s interview made me cry too Marlo.
-
Tizzie LishI only wish......that Marlo and Phil's voices were louder. On several episodes, it is obvious that they are sitting far from their guests and the microphones. The only episode I didn't enjoy as much as I had hoped was the one with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos because it was not a dialogue; it was a monologue. Marlo and Phil are exceptional listeners and their concept for this podcast is clever!

thelayaboutTime Spent with Good FriendsLongtime US talk-show host, Phil Donoghue, has teamed up with his wife Marlo Thomas to create a warm-hearted chat with guests on what makes a relationship work. Marlo is the daughter of entertainer Danny Thomas and an award-winning author of "Free to Be, You and Me." Their at-once familiar voices greet their guests, many who are personally known to them. Nice break from everything else. Their chat with Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle is particularly lovely and soothing.

Fun With 5So EnjoyableLove the venue! My husband and I too are in our fortieth year of marriage for all the same reasons of happiness and joy of all the couples I have listened to! I love the formate and the the shared conversations that happen in the podcast and can’t wait for more to come!

LovetntSo thrilled I was led to this podcastI listen to Love Letters and Modern Love so you can see why Double Date needed to be in my life. Marlo and Phil are such wonderful interviewers. You can feel how much they love each other and they ask the perfect questions! It all touches my heart. In other news, I actually recommend this show to people who aren’t married and to people who seek a relationship that will be long lasting. Somehow I feel like this is the recipe for success. Thank you for all you do.

LadyWigginBest Listen in yearsI admit I’m a podcast junkie. I have a variety of topics I enjoy. This podcast, however, has brought me so much joy it’s difficult to capture in words. I’ve always been a fan of these two and it just warms my heart to hear these interviews. My husband and I have been together for 33 years, and that’s a story in its own, and I still find value and things I can relate too in every podcast. It’s been refreshing and the best podcast listen in years. Thank you
-
MaggieRAMarlo & PhilLove the stories. You both tell the story. It’s nice to hear that these celebrities are real people and endure the way your fans do. Thank you for these beautiful stories
-
Yadimojo197360 minutesLove, love, love the show! However, it’s not long enough. I know you must speak to them for longer than that and we want to hear it. Most podcasts are at least 60 minutes long and I want to hear more. The interviews are fantastic!
-
Judester531Wise, endearing conversationsLove the combo of Marlo and Phil interviewing other couples with such enduring stories of love and marriage!
-
faithsmSfmI find this podcast lovely and fascinating. My husband and I have had a loving and wonderful 41 year marriage and I very much enjoy hearing how other couples think about what makes their marriage work. Maybe you should interview those of us who are just “regular people “ in long term marriages!
-

Minny in calFun & intimate conversations with married couples!Thank you Marlo and Phil for your podcast! It is really helping me think about how to make such an important commitment work from the get go! I’m in my early 50s, and have never found myself in a relationship that was a match worthy of marriage. Hope to find such a match and to have a delightful marriage! Your podcast is preparing me.

Cpratte89LoveThis podcast is so sweet. I enjoy listening to these stories
-
DispleasedreaderSurprisingPerfect timing because at a first glance seems too short. Great questions which vary couple to couple. Lovely conversation. Like eavesdropping on a dinner party.
-
MariaRaveloGreat listenI love that the story is told mostly by the guest couple, so that you don’t feel like it’s an interview! I actually feel like the couple is telling their story!
-
yogagirl56Fantastic and so interestingI love listening to these interviews. They are uplifting and funny and wise. I can't wait for the next one!!!

Burdie55A Great Start to the Week!Marlo
-
TAB_9000Charming but overactedThe interviews are nice, but Marlo's intros are so painfully performative I can hardly stand it. The ad reads are equally horrid.
-
monkeygirl910Comical!These episodes are hilarious! Thank you for the entertainment! - Elle Madsen, Host of Lady Empire

cdavenpoMonday’s are good now!I look forward to Mondays every week - because this podcast comes out with a new session. The hosts are delightful, ask questions of the guests that cover many aspects of marriage - and speak of their own successful marriage. Their guests vary in many ways but all are very interesting and entertaining in their own right. Try this - so you’ll look forward to Mondays too!

Sim0ne1Heartfelt, Insightful, and FunIt’s a pleasure to listen and learn from these longtime partners, who are so honest and generous about their struggles and joys as individuals and couples. And of course Marlo and Phil are as adorable as ever.

Susan2009Sage wisdom and Fun!Just found this and catching up on the back list. A fun conversation with two veteran interviewers who have a long marriage and a married couple (famous, so far). It’s like listening to a fun couples date ! Every marriage is different, but the little things and big things matter a lot. This peek behind the curtain of marriage, while very entertaining, also let’s you see that all marriages have difficulties, and all couples must find solutions that work for them. This podcast is for young and old, newly in relationship, and long time love. How to be happy. How to treasure each other. Mistakes to avoid. And, mostly, how to decide to be married and make it work, and have fun in the process!
