new infinityDeeper and broader than the restLike most of you, I love Science and Technology news. For the latest gadget and gizmo stuff, I listen to Leo Laporte- the tech guy. For stuff that is a bit more in depth, I listen to the How Stuff Works podcasts. PRI goes even deeper and even broader. Rhitu has a great radio voice. And her frequent guest Elsa also has a great voice. They pick topics from everywhere. An international perspective. I would not want PRI to be my only source. (I like gadgets and gizmos too.) But they definately have found a niche, and they fill it well. Great job.

jasohaInformative and enjoyableA great, informative podcast! Both the weekly science topics from the radio program and the additional subjects discussed by Elsa and Rhitu are interesting and educational. I always enjoy listening!

Napppy BoyAnecdotic "science"Sadly the recent episode on using land for growth of bio-fuels lapsed into junk science. Specifically, the use of chemicals (pesticides) on bio-fuel crops was linked to adverse health effects on nearby humans and animals, including birth defects. There were quotes from both sides in the debate, but the reporter was more interested in the political aspects of the story. No seeming effort was made to verify the scientific allegations. For the most part the series is extremely well done, but this episode fell short. With this in mind, I must give the lowest possible rating to counterbalance the large number of glowing reviews.

Wilhelm OrmsteinFantastic science podcast!I love listening to this program where ever I go or whatever I am doing. I love listening to the show especially while working on my lawn and in my garden. I don't care if my neighbors think I am mad as a hatter, just because I seem so focused on my tasks. Secretly, I am basking in the glow of PRI's The World: Science stories. Thank you very much for all of your work and keep the music selections coming in the podcast.

Music_Lv'rMuch Better'n other Science PodastsThis Science Podcast Beats, By Far, many ither very Popular Public Radio Podcasts, many of which I used to listen to, myself. Since my Background is in Journalism, and a Lifelong "Hunger" for Learning, esp. the Humanities, and Science, I am fastidious about Whom, and What Programs I Listen to. Unlike some other Shows, whose Hosts' voices are "Grating" to the Ear, I find this Show's Hostess' Voice Smooth and Completely Professional, Knowledgeable, and Well-Prepared. Additionally, there are no Call-Ins, into this Show, which I've found I like better, as it avoids an ever-potential Avalanche of Extremism, and Unbalanced LayPerson "Opinions." Highly recommended!

AlexLeyA much needed international perspectiveI've listened to a lot of science podcasts, and PRI's Science Podcast is definitely one of the best! It has a nice mix of international science news, great interviews, and I love the highlights from Elsa. The stories are very timely and relevant in addition to just being so darn interesting! It compliments my other science podcasts very nicely.

Paul Kevin AndersonIndustry-fawning disinformationThe PRI interviewer allows the biotech industry university researcher, Wolfgang Freidt, to make false assertion upon false assertion, unchallenged, and characterizes the recent EU approval of transgenic agriculture as a "new openness" (as opposed to caving in to chemical company BASF.) Terrible, irresponsible disinformation masquerading as journalism.

Rodney JonaceAwesomeI love this podcast. Everything present is interesting and the format is dynamic. The host, Rhitu, makes it easy to enjoy.
-
KathrynRFantastic podcast. Both relevant and engaging subjects are discussed, all from different disciplines. I look forward to listening and enjoy the wide variety of topics - always increasing my knowledge base. There is usually something to share with my students to get them a little more interested in science each week as well.

mc-LAA super science podcast!Rhitu Chaterjee does a super job of crafting this engaging, interesting podcast. The timely topics are treated by expert guests in a way that makes them accessible to lay people. The conversations between the Rhitu and her weekly guest Elsa are fun and informative. I look forward to this podcast each week, and am always saddened when the time is up and I have to wait long days for the next one to appear. I highly recommend it!

lingua203A great science podcast!Rhitu does a good job covering new developments in science. If you have heard about a new discovery in the news, chances are it will be brought up here and explained in better detail. Her correspondant Elsa is also a great source of information.

LuiValenzIt has many good atributes to be a very good sicence podcast!Very recomended science podcast. Talks about relevant and new events, discoveries and cultural aspects related with the scientific world aorund the planet. The topics are presented in a very fresh way. The host (Rhitu Chatterjee ) sometimes interviews sicentis from all over the world and also talks about relevant topics in a very fresh and not boring way. Elsa Youngsteadt is a invited host that brings to the podcast, very cool histories in a very cool way. When Rhitu and Elsa talk to each other, I feel like a can be part to fhte conversation, the way they do it is by Rhitu asking Elsa questions about the scientific topic in a very relax way while Elsa is talking about it, at the same time Esla gives anwers to Rhitu's questions, also in a very relaxed way. At the end the scientific information reaches everybody in a very clear and informal or even fun way. This makes science easy to understand and even fun! A plus of he podcast, is that is not too long or too short (some science podcasts reach the point of being very boring when they are too long!). But this one is just perfect! I really recomend this podcast, give it a try!

LouiePaoScience ExplainedThis is my favorite science podcast. Ms. Chatterjee does a wonderful job setting up each segment. I always find the scientific information presented to be both timely and intriguing. This podcast always gives the listener food for thought. Well worth the time to listen.

DJ BrasierGreat show for experts and laymenThis podcast does a great job of keeping me in touch with a lot of different science topics. As a biologist, I've become very specialized and it's great to have a weekly look at what is going on in physics, chemistry, and other parts of biology that I don't specialize in.
-
Norm Wrightcarbon stuffI used to like this but the last two podcasts had long segments on carbon and global warming, ok in general but it really focussed on the politics (not the science) -- I listen to this for the science not the politics.

adrienne10A World-view on ScienceTaking about a half hour each week, several journalists contribute to this podcast. Weekly topics are tied together well. In August 2009, the host switched from David Krohn to a new host. There may be some growing pains at the transition, where the new host relies a little more heavily on the support journalists. The science is good and current. This is a well spent half hour for both the scientists and non-scientists to learn about a wide variety of very new science from around the world.
-
joranAll the Science You NeedThis is a great podcast. It's focused on one timely topic each week. The stories are original and tied together very nicely by the host, David Kohn.
