    The BEST
Outstanding interviews with some of the most important artists around. If you don’t already know who they are, you better listen and learn!

    Essential listening
What can i say… Conan’s interviews with indie recording artists stretching back decades catalogs a history that would likely otherwise be lost. He doesn’t just interview the well known faces, but digs deep with band members whose voices might not have been in the forefront, getting some truly unique perspectives. His conversations with contemporary artists are equally as good, colored by his thoughtful approach and a deep knowledge of indie music history.

    Agony
Tuned in to hear the talented and never interviewed Steve Bartek. I would think the host would be prepared to guide the guest through a series of questions instead of just winging it. The lack of background knowledge was staggering.

Excellent show for underground music and musicians
I found this pod following some of the guests. I stayed for Conans excellent interview skills and sincerity and authenticity of being an underground musician and a fan of the genres in underground rock and all the sub genres. A must for fans and musicians.

    Amazing!
It's staggering just how many fantastic artists frequent these podcasts. Conan is a masterful interviewer, always keeping you engaged and asking the right questions. Definitely for fans of Noise Rock, Post Rock, Indie and anyone who's ever been or been into independent music.

Great guests, great host, great show.
No other show has this level of informed detail done with so much care and finesse. Conan is a kind, informed and very funny host bringing forth a different kind of conversation from many similar podcasts, coming from an informed place of a touring musician. From Tony Visconti to Gerald Casale to David Yow and James Williamson. The guests always seem to have a great time and the mood is infectious. It has absolutely been essential to my mental health through the pandemic. I look forward to every episode, you should too. Protonic reversal is a treasure.

Great guests, host needs some work
I was drawn to this one because of the quality of the guests. Conan gets some fascinating subjects (at least if you’re into ‘90s noise and underground rock), and I come back frequently to see who’s up next. He’s generally a thoughtful and well-informed host, and it’s clear that he’s got some personal familiarity with his subjects. Problem is he tries too hard to make that apparent — lots of forced “knowing” laughter, audible nudges and winks, and missed opportunities to go deeper on questions. Also a general lack of focus with his threads — basically just lots of rookie interviewing mistakes. He could do more to become an active listener, give some space, and let his guests lead.

Excellent Under the Radar Music Podcast
This has become one of my favorite music interview podcasts. Conan interviews some of the bigger names in the post-punk/indie world plus many more who continue to fly under the radar. There’s always something fresh and interesting to come out of it, even from guests who get interviewed a lot.

    Underwhelming
Guy managed to make an interview with Ian MacKaye boring. I suppose that's an accomplishment.

Great show with a musicians approach to interviews
Conan does the same great job asking questions of huge indie gods as he does with lesser known but often equally interesting guests. The format seems open without a ton of canned questions. Actually, there is only one real canned question “why do you do what you do?” Great show. Give it a listen.

The best music interview podcast out there.
Irreverent, thoughtful and unique. In the last year Protonic Reversal has gone from a very good niche podcast to something truly important. Providing a lifeline in the bleakest of quarantine times, the show continues to delight, amaze and engage. Tony Visconti, Gerald Casale, Steve Albini, Patty Schemel, the list goes on. Anybody who is remotely interested in weird or underrgound music is doing themselves an immense disservice to not check out this consistently listenable and awesome show.

    Superlative Podcast
Conan Neutron is a terrific host, musician and personality. Mr. Neutron has an impressive array of guests from the underground music world and he engages them in genuinely stimulating informal interviews that play in a realistic conversational sorta way. I am grateful for this podcast. Thanks to you Conan and to all your guests!

Annoying laugh is too much to overcome
I listened to this solely because of Mark lanegan interview. And it was a decent interview. But it was almost completely ruined by the hosts constant cackling. He laughs hysterically at his own jokes... wait, they aren’t even jokes. They are just comments. Example: Isabel Campbell and queens of the Stone Age have different fan bases. Enter 20 second long hysterical laughter, that drowns out what lanegan is saying. And this went on repeatedly. I’m glad he interviewed lanegan, who is a legend. But this host is just intolerable to listen to

    Entertaining!
The interviews are truly entertaining with tons of laughter mixed in with some cool information from new and old musicians. The podcast kept my attention from beginning to the end. Love it!

    Could use some work
Overall a good podcast once you get past the intro. The intro music is a full 3 minutes long and it gets very tedious after the first minute. The canned laughter is way too loud and too long. I think a class in audio production would take this podcast from good to great

One of the best music conversations out there.
Lively, funny, and super-interesting interviews with musicians (and other creative types) -some of whom you'll know, some of whom you won't. This hidden gem of a podcast is in high rotation over here. Dig in, Poindexter!
