Of course the show itself is extremely insightful and I listen as much as I can in the morning, hoping to catch the rest with the podcast. The only problem is that the volume level of the hosts is much, much too quiet to hear clearly. In the old days I would have hooked the podcast up to an amp and added a limiter to the chain, because the rest of the audio is, to varying degrees, louder. PLEASE fix this issue, seems simple enough to remedy!

UPDATE 10/14/2024 I fail to understand how the audio continues to be an issue for the flagship of this radio station. Every Monday episode begins with one or both hosts sounding as if their in a closet under blankets, clip and caller audio being higher than the hosts, etc. Tends to take until Wednesday for host mix levels and mix to get better, that’s if hosts speak into their mics. Really enjoy the program but prefer the podcast over AM signal going in and out. The audio quality varies GREATLY between Dan, Amy, callers, guests and commercials. One star is for the audio quality. Content is five stars.

Five stars for content Volume variance is a problem, sometimes soft and need more volume on Dan and or Amy then the callers and interviews come in much louder.

Love the show. Listen to almost all of them and enjoy your fill in hosts as well. I often find it hard to hear because of the range of volume. If I have any noise in background I often miss things and have to go back to hear what I missed. I turn the volume up and then get blasted by the commercials (though there’re not many). Great info that I can’t find elsewhere.

I no longer have to get up early to listen with the addition of the podcast! Shows are current and stimulating with no fluff on any side of the political fence. Also the guest invites includes not just friends but foes offering perspective from both sides. Not a long time listener to the radio show which often on the road was bad reception, but now I have a chance to catch up on the earlier highlights I’ve missed. Keep up the good work Dan and Amy, continue informing the masses and the entertaining banter - it’s a bonus !

I enjoy the topics and feel it’s very informative BUT Dan is so rude and condescending to Amy it’s a turn off.

I find it insulting that Dan Proft claims to be “one of the sharpest political minds in Illinois” when he’s not even a resident of nor does he reside anywhere near Illinois!

Found this podcast in my iTunes podcast recommendations and now I can listen without the horrible interference from the power lines.

Whenever I want to catch up on what is happening in Chicago or the world in general; I tune into this program. Great stuff..timely…thoughtful…

Intelligent and very informed podcast. If you want unfiltered opinion about all politics and Chicago politics in particular you will enjoy his wit and candor. Try it out.

Very poor choices for substitute hosts. Not interesting. Not interested. I’ll be tuning out until Dan is back. At least get Shawn from Elmwood Park or the Cow Guy. Others are awful. Yawn.

I love this show! I remember the 1st time I heard Dan fill in for John and I thought, These two make a great team. They cover current and varied topics, have terrific guests, good mix of callers, and aren’t afraid to allow differing points of view. I almost wish I still lived in Illinois so I could listen live...thank God for podcasts and streaming!!

I love Dan and Amy. I used to enjoy Bruce Wolf and Dan too, on that other radio station. Dan is a little curmudgeonly at times, but his vast knowledge makes up for it.

No other show covers Chicago, burbs, Crook County, State, Nation & culture like Dan and Amy. A daily must if you need expert commentary & analysis with biting humor.

Great way to keep up-to-date on local and national news. Podcasts are better than live, because Shaun's calls are edited. Good commuter podcast!
