Witt erroneously credits Trump with getting TSMC to build in Arizona. TSMC actually broke ground in 2021 and solidified their commitment to US manufacturing as a result of President Biden’s bipartisan Chips Act. The same Act that Trump called horrible and wants scrapped. Witt’s error went unchecked and fuels a damaging misperception of Trump’s understanding and commitment to America’s semiconductor security. Please issue a correction.

In your latest episode your quest misquotes Luke 4:22. The crowd did not ask, Is not this Mary’s son. They asked, Is not this Joseph’s son. The people clearly believed that Jesus was Joseph’s son and not illegitimate.

RE Interview with Elaine Pagels. At the end, she said “…and that was not the only [experience].” And you jumped to “Thank you Elaine Pagels.” And the podcast ended when surely many many of us wanted to know what other experiences. I have had mysterious experiences after the death of loved ones. I was eager to hear what she had to say. Please have her come back to talk about that topic. I’m not religious at all, but some experiences cannot be forgotten. It’s the greatest mystery of all: what comes after life? We cannot know, but experiences shared can bring solace and comfort and a deepening curiosity. Thanks. I’m actually a fan of yours David Remnick. Thought I should mention that too ;-)

She is smart, engaging,interesting

High quality like magazine itself though you can detect flaws in interviews mostly in terms of blatant preconceptions. E.g. Remnick is smart & excellent but clearly comes 2 interviews w/ biases & preconceived ideas about the interviewee. And some programs fall flat such as recent interview of Kaitlin Collins(ie, mostly softball qs as if too afraid 2 ask tough qs.)

David, you forget the power of Fox News & the news outlets that spew negativity. H/W had to fight 40 years of misinformation, lies & Elon’s starlink. Changing minds after many years of misinformation is a hard task.

Great interview David & NYer. Objective perspectives like Shotkin’s help interpret the situation in historical context, which unfortunately social/modern media distorts to polarized hysteria. Thank you for the balance.

Remnick was interviewing the ACLU head, Anthony Moreno, who is always a VERY compelling interviewee. But Remnick kept interrupting Moreno before he finished his thought! I dare Mr. Remnick to listen to that episode and count how many times he disrespected his guest. On legal matters the guest obviously knows much more than the host. So show some humility and LISTEN before barging in with your next brilliant question.

I cried listening to Sarah McBride’s episode. She is an amazing person who has made me think about to be a better human being. The grace that she spoke about is embodied in every word that she spoke. Thank you for highlighting this extraordinary woman!!

Oh joy. Another antizionist screedster humanities professor telling lies. You don’t seem to understand how or why we are sick of legacy media. He was a boring pest at UChicago, and I bet he left because while they would tolerate his anti Jewish bias he couldn’t bear teaching at school that valued free speech. Unsubscribing from both the podcast and the magazine for now. Maybe I’ll come back in a year. But I doubt it.

This is one of the few voices of reason and truth telling. No more than ever. David Remnick (with guests) is a brilliant fair minded interviewer and this program is a wealth of inside and information. One of our favorites. Thank you.

I’m here for the crossword puzzles and never thought much of your “journalism”. Even with that low bar you’ve managed to disappoint.

Unlike some of the listeners who are upset about Gingrich on the show, I thought it’s a revealing episode of Remnick’s own world view, which is doused with neocon and neoliberal sentiment, basically establishmentarian. It also explains the much more conservative tone—except for cultural issues—of this show compared to many writings of the magazine. Hope they can have some left-leaning guest hosts occasionally for a change.

As a 54 year old black man from Corona & Jackson Heights, Queens, I’m here to inform yall that the topic of conversation in the barber shop is, “How did Kamala go from curry to collard greens?” Kamala is an Indian name. It’s not African, Caribbean, or Jamaican. It’s Indian. Saying she’s black cause her pops is Jamaican is like saying Elon is black because he’s from Africa…. White Liberals out here getting played like a fool LOL

I often enjoy these conversations, but get so turned off my David Remnick’s interrupting that I end up turning it off halfway through. It’s possible to do hard interviews that push people to ask direct questions without constantly cutting them off in the middle of their thoughts, which I almost always want to hear finished.

I always enjoy these podcasts and appreciate the scholarship and careful curation of guests and topics. Top notch.

It would be irresponsibly charitable for me to call the August 20, 2024 episode disciplined journalism. A just democracy allows for the possibility for a minority position to win if the minority wants it more. So calling pro-life success anti-democratic is simply incorrect: A minority of grassroots activists won a court ruling. It did so because it sacrificed more for that ruling over a longer period of time than the majority did. Pro-choice advocates such as myself could learn much from the focused and shrewd advocacy of the pro-life movement. Instead, this episode decided to complain about how supposedly un-democratic that success is.

Mr. Remnick, I can’t think of anyone else who could ask the right questions of Nancy Pelosi as fluently and inviting as you did. Thanks to you, we all have further insight into an extremely wise mind. Amazing and effective interview. Thank you! -Bethlehem, PA

Love the content. Five stars. In comparison with other podcasts, though, the audio sounds notably more muffled. Please make it crisp: listening to Nancy Pelosi sounds like she’s bubbling underwater while David Remnick talks into a pillow.

A great shame the New Yorker has succumbed to a self-righteous, shrilly far-left ideology that refuses is shockingly or willfully blind to its own one-sided assumptions and biases. Used to be a fount of thought-provoking, credible, deep writing and journalism that explored a variety of ideas, and dared to wrestle with them honestly and from multiple angles. No longer. As for Mr remnick’s at-this-point rabidly one-sided anti-Israel narrative, easy enough from the luxury of New York to utterly fail to fathom the existential reality of living surrounded by Islamists with a genocidal agenda against Jews, sustained by global mobocracy through once credible institutions such as UN and “rights” groups, but New Yorker reporters have no excuse for their condescending inability or willingness to question the vicious palestianian/Arab narrative that denies Israeli and Jewish identity in its own land. If you want to understand why kids on campuses are so far gone, have a listen and read from the propaganda arm of their teachers, the progressives who lack the courage to scrutinize all with equal fairness and have lost the plot on the post-enlightenment dream that we all share a common humanity but that culture, yes, matters too.
