I don’t understand how they can make such a wonderful show each year given the source material. I genuinely look forward to this podcast every year and it has become a personal tradition to watch the movie and listen to the pod right after. Who would know 5 people’s descent into madness would bring me so much comfort and joy. Genuinely so good, listen to it for bed. The guy’s voices have a great combo that at this point helps me sleep better than melatonin. To this day I have never watched PBT

2024 update; happy 10th anniversary to my favorite podcast! here's to another decade of not watching this movie 🥂✨ i have never been so emotionally and temporally invested in a movie that i haven’t seen nor plan to see despite these boys’ best efforts. each year feels like an encroaching challenge. 2020 was the hardest one to overcome but even the gimmick of a watch along director’s commentary won’t make me give in. i can just close my eyes, listen to these boys wax poetic about death blart, and see the movie it was always meant to be. thank you for the annual gift.

Third update: I find myself in 2024 in a hotel room with my family and as they watch the Harry Potter marathon on TV, I sneak into the corner to continue my new Thanksgiving tradition. And giggle to myself, trying not to reveal my hidden agenda and little audio secret. It’s amazing. Thank you. Second review: It’s 2023 and I’m in a crumby hotel visiting in-laws. My 9-year-old woke me up at 6am to get breakfast and play Pokémon Scarlet and after eating a not-bad-was-it-good? hotel breakfast I’m relaxing, drinking coffee in the lobby with my boy and listening to this year’s episode. i used to dread thanksgiving every year and since this podcast started i don’t because i always have at least one thing to look forward to. it genuinely improves my life to have this podcast in it.

I really like how it used to be that everyone except Griffin was marked as host, and he was a guest. Now he’s the only one there but he’s still the guest.

Five men travel where no human has gone before, for incredibly good reason. No matter whether they love of hate this movie, their reasons are now so beyond human rationalization that it never ceases to be baffling or entertaining. Never in my life have I seen people commit to an atrocious idea for so long. This podcast might be my favorite part of thanksgiving.

I look forward to the holidays because of this podcast. It is a joy to wake up on Thanksgiving morning and listen to this funny, funny podcast.

This is quite literally the best movie podcast I’ve ever listened to they cover the same movie every episode but it still somehow one of the funniest podcasts I’ve ever listened to. It’s really impressive how commuted they are to doing this. I am always looking forward to the next episode it’s the reason I love thanksgiving.

who knew 5 good boys could turn an unremarkably awful and in movie into something even stranger? it’s comedy alchemy. this is the only reason I look forward to thanksgiving

I picked it up around 2018, and have tuned in every year (and sometimes in between if I miss my boys) and I love it every listen. And no, I have never once seen the bad movie, but will always listen to my good good guys suffer 😁😁

I’ve been using this podcast to fall asleep to lately. I find the bad years hilarious and the good years comforting and my dreams have only been a little weird because of it. The once in a blue boom was my favorite but they’re all delightful.

I love both MBMBAM and TWIOAL, but when combined into this insanity, it’s unfathomable. The only problem is every year I had to deal with the internal conundrum of whether or not to even risk watching PBMC2 even once!

This show is my own personal Thanksgiving ritual…

Every year as the weather changes, I hear the call deep in my soul to rehash all of this from the very beginning. Before I can even press play I am already laughing to myself. The only downside (but not really) is that I have to do my relisten earlier each year in order to finish before Thanksgiving.

Each year your souls are sapped away a little more by that movie.

Every time I have to drive somewhere that takes me longer than two hours to arrive at, I inevitably end up relistening to this entire podcast along the way. This is the best content the McElroys have ever produced. I await each episode every year with baited breath and if they ever cancel the show within my lifetime I will go into a deep state of mourning.

A yearly treat to make the passage of time less horrific. You shouls listen to the all of the episodes back to back in one day. The delirium is exquisite. It’s a Paul Blart fugue state.

play every single episode on my death bed so these irate men who did this to themselves can soothe me to sleep one last time

After years of listening I am currently watching PBMC2 for the first time. I am 15 minutes in and am very upset with the decision. I pity you all.
