Wow! If you would’ve told me 2 years ago that I on a weekly basis would looking forward to the latest TGN podcast episode and join their Slack, I would've thought you were nuts. I sincerely thought podcast were super boring, for educated millennials, or just a waste of time. How wrong I was! The Grey Nato not only is hosted by two guys that are such a heartfelt and dynamic duo but is genuinely exciting, engaging, educational, relaxing, funny, and all together awesome. Will be a life long paid supporter and will gladly cut a favorite streaming service if need be to continue to enjoy the podcast and the exceptional community behind it. Thank you James and Jason. I’ve been listening to The Grey NATO since episode 1 in 2016 and it’s my favorite of the 30 or so podcasts I listen to. Jason and James are a joy to listen to and their breadth of topics, including “travel, adventure, diving, driving, gear, and, most certainly, watches” leaves something for everyone. I honestly can’t believe I hadn’t left a review before now. But I will be a lifelong listener and subscriber to their Slack community, and I recommend just about anyone else does the same!

I never understood the draw to the podcast format. That was until I subscribed to The Grey Nato. So great to hear conversations among friends, advice from industry experts and the occasional banter between these wonderful hosts all revolving around horology and adventure. I understand businesses need to make money but regardless the early episodes of this show are far better than the more recent ones.

Not enough great things can be said about this show. Jason and James are two of the most interesting and easy to listen to individuals you could ask for. The chemistry between them often spark great tangents and harmonious discussion. Years ago, I was heavy into outdoor exploration but have unfortunately been lax with these activities lately. These gentlemen have reinvigorated my love for the outdoors and am sure they can do the same for you. Thank you gentlemen!

I love the grey nato! It’s a fun mix of watches, gear, movies, and day to day adventure from James and Jason. Y’all have a wholesome approach to the wristwatch community and you’re both blessed with soothing voices. Great stuff to have on while doing chores and projects around the house. Keep it up and know that you have a fellow enthusiast out there crossing their fingers for a Pelagos GMT, a 58 sized Pelagos, or a 58 GMT.

The show is two friends who talk mostly watches but also travel and adventure. It makes you want to get out of the house and explore.

I started listening to TGN in December of 2019…(fast forward to November of 2021) these guys have literally helped me make it through the pandemic! From the “Isolation Tapes” episodes to the drop of Jason’s novel, I have been fully engaged in every episode because of the unique view that both James and Jason bring to the table. From watches to hiking, diving, driving and any other adventure imaginable, these two have been able to capture my imagination and expand my horizon for which I am extremely grateful. This is one of only a few podcasts that I look forward to every week and I can’t wait to see what else is in stock for the TGN boys moving forward.

I just recently started listening to this podcast and it is hands down my favorite find of 2021.

I listen to it regularly which is hard to do with so many good podcasts. It’s a great show.

I listen to many podcasts, but most that are gear related end up very dry and frankly boring. Jason and James rise above that with their mix of gear, travel, and great recommendations, as well as their general banter. Highly recommend this show to anyone into watches, gear, cars, and the outdoors

I titled this my 2 sherpas for an expensive hobby because in their truest sense, James and Jason are guides. I very much appreciate the variety of topics covered on TGN. While I am 80% here to think about watches, the other topics covered are fun, interesting, and well thought out. I thoroughly enjoy the way J & J can speak to any corner of the watch market with equal enthusiasm and knowledge. This isn’t like and death stuff but it’s great to have resources like TGN to help guide our passions. They have also helped shape the way I view the watches that I own, why I own them, and watches that I only need to appreciate. Well done lads, I appreciate you time and efforts to create this entertaining and informative hour of my life every week.

James and Jason are enthusiastic about every topic they bring forward. I have listened to every episode and appreciate their choice of topics, though mostly enjoy the watch talk and EDC topics the most. They are consistently authentic in their views and don’t become swayed in their opinion of products. Looking forward to many more years of TGN.

I initially tried this podcast and found the chit-chat and banter irritating because I “just wanted to hear about watches.” After I chilled out a bit and returned to give it another try, I grew to enjoy the banter and these discussions have actually affected some of my decisions about how to spend time, make purchases, etc…So if you are hard-core watch person, just give it a chance. The watch content is very good and eventually they get to it. There is an honesty and non-pretentious quality to the show that is refreshing.

I have enjoyed The Grey NATO since the beginning. It offers something for anyone interested in watches, but is most remarkable for encouraging experiences with our timepieces. The sense of adventure imparted exceeds the hour of the show. Jason and James know their subjects, but communicate in an accessible and non-elitist way. This is my favorite podcast.

Although I hate camping, skiing, the outdoors and I couldn’t tell a carburetor from a ham sandwich, I feel these guys are living the life I should be living. Every episode is interesting, and I almost always feel an urge to get up and do something after listening. The urge is momentary, but thrilling.

I love this podcast. It is never quite the same so each week is exciting. It’s watches… sort of. Their interests just absolutely align with me. It’s great to get a perspective on watches and the surrounding watch world from people who like being outside and doing outdoorsy activities. Use the watches. Don’t just collect them. These guys should definitely be paid more. I have probably bought five or six watches because of them. Not just because they are saying people should buy them. Their interests just align so well for people who like watches and the outdoors. They know what makes a good outdoors watch and don’t follow just the hyped up watches. The podcast is great because the guys never sit still and don’t follow one format. When they say watches, gear, diving, driving, travel, and adventure they mean it. If you are passionate about any of those things, Jason and James will probably get you interested in the others.

I absolutely love this podcast. I started to listen to podcasts just recently and I am working my way through all the back episodes. Not only do I love the talk about watches and the recommendations, but I find that the discussions compel me to get outside more and enjoy the outdoors. Keep up the good work.

I came for the watches and stayed for everything else. I’m not outdoorsy in the least but James and Jason make everything easy to digest and enjoyable. Can’t recommend this podcast enough.

I listen to a lot — a lot — of podcasts. But if they all released an episode on the same day this is the one I would listen to first.

What a satisfying podcast. It’s like one part a sophisticated and gear-intensive Mr. Rogers episode, one part the around the fireplace true North and non-creepy parts of Prairie Home Companion, and one part a unique blend of two interesting g personalities walking through engaging travels. And now meeting Gishani on the podcast was fabulous. Keep them coming!!!
