These 2 fellers have seriously the best podcast on the ole interweb!

I’ve been listening to Dave & Dave since the beginning. Not only is this the best Van Halen podcast but it is the most informative. Their format is very long but it can be broken into 3 clear segments. News, letters, and main subject. I occasionally have a few disagreements about some of their opinions but they are very respectful to their listeners. One of these days I am going to write them a letter. Keep the flame alive guys.

Just when you think you know everything about this band, you don't because Dave and Dave will educate you make no mistake. Well I feel it is time for a review update, the VH News segment is outstanding, The interviews with different authors is well done, the album and track reviews are quite detailed. Now it is quite noticeable the current trend Dave and Dave do now is to bash Valerie Bertonelli who was celebrity long before Van Halen, Wolfgang's mother, and still friends with Ed even after their divorce, every move this woman makes, she gets knocked down and disrespecting her is uncalled for, Sammy is enough of a target for constantly being thrown under the bus. The mail bag is mostly the same diehard fans picking apart ad nauseam everything Dave and Dave say. Sometimes the interviews become a long rant in which Loud Dave instructs the audience on his version of why Van Halen broke up in the first place and contnued to have break ups over the years. Sometimes the topics are not that interesting, other fan groups that talk VH on platforms such as YouTube cover more interesting topics, not just making up topics such as let's see who provided janitorol services during each VH tour.( I know that is coming, I want full credit) The podcast also has a Patreon membership so the listeners can support the podcast but it is set up incorrectly and seems to be completely ignored. Now Dave and Dave know more than most fans, and take it all apart and examine it putting back together again. They conduct thoughtful, researched, detailed interviews and are not afraid to criticize what we all love which is the mighty VH good, bad, and ugly. This podcast is perfect for the fandom who is lives in the Dave is the holy grail and Sammy is the blasphemer double standard endless loop, that Dave & Dave also subscribe to. For the rest of us this endless loop is exhausting so I have to keep the 4th and 5th star to myself, while I continue to listen of course. . . .

Best, most informative, entertaining, and amusing podcast ever! Dave and Dave are unrivaled as far as rock podcasts go! Long time listener, always save this one for last. Thanks again guys!

It’s about a week I’m listening to this podcast while I gaming and it’s phenomenal. I can feel friends who love mighty Van Halen I never had talking to me about our mutual passion. All the tiny bits of minutia you just don’t hear about you will hear it here!! You have questions they will read it and answer it! You” ll definitely get more info here about VH than you will from Al, Dave or Sammy! The most thorough Van Halen Podcast ever!!

Been listening for a few years the must listen to Van Halen podcast, I listen on Fridays whenever these episodes come out when it’s done I usually crank VH and have a few cocktails, such great insight it’s like listening to my buddies talk about all things VH. 🎸🤘🏻

Boy these guys are great, if you love old school Van Halen then this is your place, even though they probably touch on Sammy a little more than I’d like.

I’m a Van Halen and have been for years but I haven’t much listened to them recently, with the passing of Eddie I pulled out my old VH vinyl and became curious to see who’s talking about them in the podcast communities. This was my first introduction, starting from their very first episode on the 5150 anniversary. I’ve been looking for a podcast like this and it’s obvious these two guys know what they’re talking about. Cant wait to listen to more and catch up to the current.

Not sure what exactly the title means but I do know that Dave & Dave know their Halen history. This podcast is meant to be listened in sections but it goes by quickly. They compliment each other in what they are thinking and saying. It is all positive and in good nature. Plus their guests are all outstanding. Keep up the GREAT WORK guys ! ”I'll Wait” ....anxiously for each new podcast !

Yes Eddie he did show mike his parts ,man Mike not once in his life has written music why do you think that is guys ... how many real musicians do you know ? Everyone I meet that plays has written music and the ones that don’t are happy to play others songs and they play what the song writer told them to play ... Mike played what KING EDWARD told him to play & he was happy to , that’s why he doesn’t get angry in the press EVER cause he knows he’s the luckiest bassist that has ever lived , without the Gods also known as the VH Bro’s he would be back in South Side of the Windy City known once again as Mike Sablowski Btw also realize ED sang all the bk up vocals with mike live & studio & he never gets mentioned or credit for the amazing bk up vocals VH has

The podcast is really fun with a lot of ballbusting and good, knowledgeable discussion. It's a great way to keep up with a band that is very private. These guys are relentless and do thier homework, they find great guests who have history with the band for cool insight.

until I found this podcast!! This is a MUST for any Van Halen fan. I feel it’s truly impossible for a TRUE Van Halen fan to pick their favorite vocalist. In my opinion when I hear someone say they only like Roth era VH then I don’t feel that person is a true fan. This is what I LOVE about Dave & Dave. They give props to Dave, Sammy AND Gary and are very in depth in their reviews and their investigative work. I simply cannot explain how much I am enjoying these podcasts. Just discovered them last week and am listening to #9 already. There is soooooo much to love about Van Halen and these guys give you even more reasons to love the greatest rock band of all time. But it’s not all sunshine and roses. These guys tell the truth and the dirt and everything in between in a Superfan kind of way and it’s simply the best podcast out there!!

Dave and Dave do a great job on this Van Halen podcast. Production has gotten a lot better. They are likable hosts and carry a wealth of information. I’m not into the Sammy era but the stories around that time period are still interesting. For my money David Lee Roth is the greatest frontman ever and is the only voice for Van Halen. I also rate A different kind of truth as one of the best in the catalog. Keep up the great work. Shawn Franklin

These guys are true Van Halen fans. Love the podcast! In the latest episode they interview Nile Rodgers and Terry Kilgore about the DLR Your Filthy Little Mouth record. Great to hear Nile and Kilgore was hilarious and told some great stories. Keep it up guys!

I've been a fan of this band since 1984. I stumbled upon this podcast a few months ago and have since gone back to listen to the last year's worth. FAIR WARNING.. it's a little different format (once a month 2-3 hours long). I actually prefer this to the other weekly podcasts that last 30-45 minutes. Those with weekly formats oftentime feel rushed to get through topics. Dave and Dave don't have that restriction but, at the same time, they know when to move off a topic. You could say they achieve BALANCE. What is the most refreshing about their podcast is that they are not biased. They share and consider different viewpoints on the hotter topics of VH and always provide a A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRUTH. Give' em a listen!

The two Daves have created a fantastic show for Van Halen fans. They show equal respect to both the Roth and Hagar fronted versions of VH, and they even have the guts to praise the elements of VH3 that are praiseworthy. They have interviewed some very unique people who are tied to the band in some way, and all have stories that even diehard fans like myself had not yet heard. I HIGHLY recommend this podcast.
