While definitely an acquired taste. I absolutely love this podcast. It’s irreverent, funny and so much fun. I listen as soon as new podcasts are released.

This is by far my favorite Outlander podcast! I love hanging out the Allison & Julie (and Jeanine in the early daze) and recapping all juicy Outlander episode bits. Listening to all the hilarity these ladies bring to the podcast feels just like hanging out with my friends and discussing the show! Keep doing what you’re doing ladies. I probably wouldn’t even remember to watch new seasons of this show if it weren’t for your podcast (that was supposed to be a compliment but interpret as you see fit 😅)

I’m super late to Outlander, I just binged the whole thing in a month due to a broken ankle and the ability to binge any show for the first time in my life. Anyway, I’m really grateful for this podcast as no one in my life watches Outlander and I love listening to the hosts say things I’ve totally thought while watching. Keep up the good work friends!

I love this podcast! I have been a huge fan of Outlander since the pandemic and I am obsessed with the show. Over the summer this podcast was mentioned on Reddit and I thought I’d take a listen. I was hooked from the start! These ladies have honest opinions and incredible insight on things I perhaps have overlooked while watching. They are also hilarious. I am a runner and was bored listening to the same old music so I started listening to this podcast instead. It’s awesome! Imagine me running in my neighborhood in the dark before work, giggling like a psychopath as these uproarious ladies make jokes about things in the show I didn’t even think could be funny. I must look like a real weirdo. Worth it! It makes the time pass so fast and it puts me in a great mood for the rest of the day. My personal favorite is when they compare some aspect of the show to Les Miserables or some other musical. It cracks me up every time! I few like I could totally be friends with Julie and Allison. They are awesome and totally worth a listen! They will help you to appreciate Outlander even more and they will crack up up in the process. You won’t be disappointed!

Stumbled across this podcast & am DELIGHTED. Not only am I in Chicago but on page 509 of “Go Tell the Bees, etc.” Listened to the S7 eps & have rolled back to the podcast beginning. Appreciate the costume love, rankings, & musical theater shout outs. Keep on rockin’, ladies!

Absolutely love these ladies! Became and Outlander fan and fell hard last year! My other Outlander fan girls told me about this podcast and it’s one of my favorite recaps for this show. Allison and Julie say what we all want to say and thing what we are all thinking, while thoroughly entertaining us in the process! Can’t wait to power through the rest of the episodes!

I’m currently listening to Season 3 and you ladies are hilarious! And thank goodness you got Janine a microphone! I wish you’d leave politics out of it though. Super unsavory.

Addendum: So happy these two are back for season 7! Gotta say that as a reader of “the books” I did not actually watch one episode of season 6. Totally content to “Janine it” and was not dissapointed. Pamplemousse lover and die hard outlander fan, and I’m obsessed. Rarely agree with their show criticism, but I can still appreciate it and their realness and uh, hello, their hilarious banter. Fave podcast. Binged it way too fast. Y’all are the best.

Don’t even know where to start about this podcast. I’ve been an outlander fan for a while, both the show and the books, and this podcast has led me to love it even more. Just recently found it though, so back to binge listening from the beginning during my commute to and from work! 5 stars isn’t enough to describe how much I enjoy listening to Julie, Allison and Janine, I’d give them 100 if I could.

Allison and Julie are TREASURES. Whip-smart analysis/unpacking/critiquing one minute, jokes so funny you might snort-laugh on the sidewalk the next, both of those things COMBINED after that. With these two and Janeane, it always feels like you’ve just gotten to the bar to catch up with pals on the Outlander goss.

Oh how I have grown to love Allison & Julie. I listen to three podcasts that cover “Outlander”, but always save this one for last each week. After six seasons, I finally decided to listen to the Dudelander episodes; the only thing funnier than A&J are Neil & Kevin!!!! Just completed 26 hours on the road; thank you, guys, for keeping me awake and laughing out loud all the way down I-95.

I wish neil and kevin would be meaner to each other. But for real, i picked this up after i finished college in january and couldn’t have outlander girls night anymore. Has been such a great listen!

Admittedly, I listen to this while working. Probably frowned upon but also very necessary. Ever since our band of merry people left Scotland, I have not been as obsessed with Outlander. However, a lot of my motivation for watching does come from knowing I will get to listen to y’all promptly after the episode! My only complaint…y’all really make me want a beer at 6 am. Other than that, this show is genius! Wish I lived in Chicago so I could meet y’all!

Thank you! I had almost given up on finding a funny entertaining Outlander podcast to fill the void of the Droughtlander to the point that I was beginning to feel out my significant other - “what do you think about doing an Outlander podcast with me?” Response: uhhhh - when HALLELUJAH I found this one! I can keep my day job and listen to Julie, Allison and Janine crack me up while still having an intelligent discussion of my favorite show. Thank you!!

Allison, Julie and Janine are outstanding. They are sharp, always honest and make me laugh out loud! I’m kinda an old lady listener— book reader — and love their perspective on my favorite show. Didn’t realize how much I missed them until I started listening to the Season 6 eps. Smart with a lotta of the right kind of heart!

Love the podcast, you are some funny chicks, especially Janine. However, kind of disappointed you have not recommended any beers this season, I’ve been buying everything you have mentioned in the past. Fantastic pod thank you very much.

I have come to the realization that I am still watching Outlander just to listen to this podcast. One of the only (maybe the only?) podcasts that makes me laugh out loud. Love you guys!

This show makes me laugh a lot. I just have to remember not to have it on when my daughter is in the car with me. I can’t tell you how many times I have yelled at my stereo trying to answer a question or set you straight on a piece of book trivia. And oh how I laughed until I cried listening to your live fan-fic session. I love Outlander and I love all your witty commentary about it, even when it’s critical. After all, I love my husband and I still light him up when appropriate. Keep up the good work ladies (and Janine). I look forward to your commentary on season 6. Je suis prest.

As has already been said many times in other reviews, really entertaining show- have never laughed so much listening to a podcast. My (non-Outlander fan) husband will occasionally overhear some random section and invariably laughs as well. The part that I recall making me laugh so hard I was crying was when they riffed about men and women tuning each other out…Swedish Chef and Beaker impressions and all (I think it was Lallybroch S1). Well done, ladies (and Janine)!

I just discovered you in early September 2021 and I listen ALL the time and LAUGH all the time! If you love Outlander, but also have a sense of humor and recognize it for the ridiculous ride that it is, then this is the podcast for you. Allison and Julie are laugh out loud funny and I’m so glad I discovered them (and Outlander) during this past nutso year and a half. What a treat it was this week to get my first two episodes in real time. I can’t wait for season 6 and beyond.

Love the “iN tHe BoOks” comparisons to the episodes! Just really good. Also Janine (sp?) is super entertaining when he watches the show. He somehow knows when to contribute and when to let the ladies talk!

Like a lot of people, I discovered Outlander during quarantine. I decided to search the podcasts for any outlander related shows and discovered this one. I have since re-listened to all the episodes and now going back for a third time. There are points at which I laugh out loud. Allison and Julie capture my kind of humor and I’m sure they’re a blast to hang out with in real life. Subscribe to this podcast, you won’t regret it!

An entertaining podcast that talks about one of my favorite shows while imbibing. Love it! Keep up the great work ladies! My only note is to please oh please leave out the politics. I come to listen to intelligent critics who don’t take themselves too seriously talk about a fantastic show…politics is way too depressing and serious. Plus it lasts forever! I went back to listen to earlier seasons and there’s Donald Trump. Total downer. Bleck.

I’ve only relistened to this show 6 times. Obsessed with the commentary and relay the critiques to everyone I make watch the show. 10 of 10. But five stars will do.

The feeling like I’m at a good friends house with friends like you and plenty of beer and whisky during this time of covid is a happiness well appreciated. I’ve just recently started the whole Outlander series after a break of 20 years from reading the first few books and your ‘deep’ analysis, ‘colorful’ anecdotes, and just straight up fabulous celebration of what we hold (or wish to hold) dear is just what this world needs. To you all bravo and looking forward.

I just discovered this podcast this year and once I heard the first episode I binge-listened to everything else they had to offer. Definitely the highlight of an insane year and looking forward to much more in the future!

The Outlander fandom has a reputation for being intense, this show is probably not for those people. But if you don’t take yourself too seriously but still love Outlander you need this podcast in your life. Thank you Allison, Julie, and Janine for this hilarious podcast.

OK I discovered Outlander during quarantine. I loved seasons 1-3, whatever, my feelings about the show aren’t important. What is important is that I finished watching the series under 5 months ago. I only gave this podcast a try 5 days ago. I have not moved in the last 6 hours because these ladies are relentless with their humor. I haven’t laughed this much in a long time. I would go so far as to say I love this podcast way more than the actual show. And when the next season of Outlander airs, I am watching it only so that I can keep up with and enjoy this podcast. Seriously, I have a major friend crush on the hosts and want to drink Miller High Life with them as they talk about their love of Pamplemousse (#Pamplemousse4lyfe)

Like so many others here, I binged all 5 seasons of OL in quarantine and am obsessed. I found a Reddit thread of podcast recs and this one had SO MUCH high praise that I decided to give it a try and am so glad that I did! I have my moments where I get so full of Frank/BJR Rage and these girls alone have helped my be able to separate my feelings about the character(s) from the incredible performances from Tobias Menesmsesesess. Let’s be clear, these girls are not fangirls just blindly shipping their fave show and loving every moment - they are critical when they need to be and shout their praises for excellent performances when earned as well. They’ve spoken candidly about all of the leads and no joke, my heart was fit tae burst on behalf of Cait when I listened to their high praise for her in Faith and had chills the whole time they were talking about Sam’s performance in The Birds & the Bees. Oh, and I totally cried with Julie during the Dragonfly in Amber ep! I’m reading the booooooks now partly thanks to my aunt’s insistence, but really it was Allison that sold me. These girls just get me and make me laugh over so many of the quirky and wonderful moments of OL but also have helped me appreciate certain aspects of the show that I previously overlooked. I was thinking the other day how I’ve probably spent more hours with these girls (and Janine) than anyone else in quarantine and I love that for me. Can’t wait for Droughtlander to end and get to experience all of the fun things you do for listeners IRL!

I’ve spent a good chunk of quarantine discovering and binging Outlander and then discovering and binging this podcast. Allison, Julie and Janine have provided much needed laughs and wonderful insight. I binged watched all 5 seasons in quarantine and really enjoyed the show. love hearing podcasts about it i I find podcasts to relive moments. your show is the third podcasts I have found. I liked your season 1 and 2 for the most part. But It is clear you should have stopped watching Outlander after season 3. You do not like the way the show anymore. You don’t like the way it is filmed, scripted, acted (except for everything Murtagh and Frank/BJR). Your book knowledge and personal experience with acting and being a tv critic writer does not let you like this show overall. I’ve heard other shows I’d book readers that are critical but seriously Why do you still watch? If I didn’t watch the show before listening to your show I would think it’s the worst thing in tv. It’s not that bad. But at this point you have fun expressing how terrible you think it is. Too bad because the actors are ALL great. There’s no way a network can include all the things you want in 13 episodes. It’s not perfect but it’s not as bad as you say. Oh well

I am soooo bummed that I just discovered this podcast during droughtlander moment. I read all the books and watched the show. I appreciate the “in the books” section. They are all very funny and make some interesting observations. It’s very entertaining and when the droughtlander/pandemic is over, I look forward to listening to them again.

I love this podcast. The hosts’ personalities are easy to embrace as they navigate such a tumultuous show! I love how they’re able to provide insightful thematic/character analysis while still making me laugh. Thanks for providing many a-ha moments during my quarantine re-watch of Outlander.

I do enjoy this podcast for the most part. Mainly because the hosts do a wonderful recap and will fill in some blanks for us non book readers. But gosh, they sure do complain A LOT about the show (and about life in general)! They complain about the writing, the scenery, the special effects, the wigs, the opening theme song... sheesh! If they love Outlander so much why do they hate so much? It's exhausting. They also talk way too much about their personal lives. A little is fine, it gives the listener some insight to the hosts, but scale it back a bit. It seems as though they think they're a whole lot funnier than they really are. But then again that's what drunk people do, laugh at themselves :) lol!!

Exhaustive goodbyes one ep followed by a 10 second travel by BRJ while Ian begs at the stones,after they disappeared thru undisclosed stones - he prays, slaps his palms...ultimately walks out of sightlines before they all ‘return’ w the most ridiculous impotent’it didn’t work’- Yet, when Claire in S1 plaintively begged not to leave Jamie b4 Culliden, ‘it worked’ -

I generally really like when podcasts let the personalities of their hosts shine, but this podcast focuses too much on the personal lives and stories about themselves that I find irrelevant. I do not fine their personal stories funny, but they clearly find themselves funny. I’m listening to an episode and it took five minutes for them to start talking about Outlander. The hosts are also fairly negative about life in general? I think it’s okay to talk about your feelings, but the hosts complain a lot. I don’t recommend this podcast, but I know others who enjoy, so it’s probably not my cup of tea.

As an avid book reader, and lover of panpelmouse (or however one spells it), I love the wry commentary from these two lovely ladies. Though I’ve spent the majority of this quarantine catching up on episodes (giving it up to dudelander and the grab bag), can’t wait to continue on the season 5 journey and beyond with y’all. Keep the jokes and commentary coming because women are, and will continue to always be, funny! ❤️

I feel like I have finally found my people. This show is hilarious and I love everything about it. I never thought I would meet someone else who could talk about the movie speed, Harry Potter, baseball, and outlander all in one conversation, multiple times, but here we are. Home at a last.

I’m starting from the beginning and I love the dramatic retelling a, love the jokes, and high key love the producers gasps from the background because he didn’t watch the show but is reacting to the retelling.

Love your takes and full on honesty. Maybe refresh with a couple chapter readings so when you reference the book, you’re referencing correctly

The perfect show for Outlander fans who aren’t afraid to roll their eyes at the bad television adaptation choices or to loudly celebrate the good ones. These two ladies and their rotating crew of friends are witty, irreverent, and just a little drunk. Mark me: if audio quality and a lack of F-words are your primary criteria for evaluating your podcasts, stick to NPR (or maybe just stop being a BPD). If you want to feel like a fly on the wall during a convo among smart and hilarious friends about your favorite series, look no further than Podlander Drunkcast.

This podcasts has been one of my favorite things to listen to at work. I’m often trying (and miserably failing) to cover up the fact that I’m laughing at my desk. Julie and Alison are hysterical - drunk or not - and I love hearing Janine’s reactions as they talk through episodes he’s never seen before.
