The Hollywood in Toto Podcast w Christian Toto

Most Hollywood news sites either ignore or malign readers who crave more freedom, less regulation, and a smaller government footprint.

You won’t find that at Hollywood in Toto.

Christian Toto is an award-winning journalist, film critic, and podcaster with more than 20 years of experience covering Hollywood. Toto is a Rotten Tomatoes certified reviewer and belongs to both the Critics’ Choice Association and the Denver Film Critics Society.

Most importantly? He loves movies. What he doesn’t love is how both Hollywood and the media can’t stop trashing people that don't agree with their point of view. AKA Conservatives.

Toto has worked in media long enough to know the vast majority of entertainment coverage leans to the left. And it’s getting even more imbalanced. That’s why he created Hollywood in Toto in 2014 – to give fellow conservatives a place where they can discover the latest news and reviews without insults.

HiT also cheers when Hollywood gets it right, no pun intended (this time). Stars giving ’til it hurts. Movies celebrating freedom and liberty. Actors using their platforms for unabashedly good causes.

    Transparent Views on Hollywood
I first heard Christian Toto on Cam & Company, and have always enjoyed his take on entertainment. I am a big fan of his podcast and website. I truly appreciate that he looks at Hollywood and entertainment from all aspects. He may have a definite right-of-center worldview, but he gives honest, indepth reviews on all entertainment and the Hollywood “scene”. I especially enjoy his interviews!

Solid insight into Hollywood and media
Toto has always been a great writer and critic so it should come as no surprise he makes a great podcast as well. He stays current, gets great guests you don’t get elsewhere and he shares an honest insight into entertainment. I do keep it on top of my playlist.

    Love and audio
Christian, I love your podcast and your website. I listen every week and I go to the website at least every other day. I wanted to bring it to your attention in the episode about Stephen Colbert and Will Smith, there was a subtle thumping noise in the background and I thought it was my car and then I pulled over and I turned the car off and I turned the sound off and the thumping went away and when I turned your podcast back on the thumping came back, so could you look into that please anyway keep up the great work.

    Enjoy this Podcast
I listen to this podcast every week! I enjoy hearing interviews and reviews from someone who loves movies as much as I do, but from a right leaning perspective. Refreshing. Keep up the good work.

Episode #166; Christian Toto unveils a thought provoking and highly illuminating conversation with another leading light of Conservative artists. Another gem of a show!

    Amateurish sound. Decent show.

    Consistently Well Done
You can count on Christian Toto to consistently provide well done content with a fresh, conservative perspective. Hollywood in Toto is definitely one of my "go to" podcasts.

    One of my favorite podcasts
If you want a fresh perspective on Hollywood, this is your podcast. Christian Toto speaks to people making their way in the liberal monolith and gives insight into films and TV to help you find art that you'll want to spend your time and money on.

I have listened since the beginning and enjoy hearing Christian’s respectful and thoughtful take on pop culture and film ever week. I never miss an episode.

    Where is everyone?
I listen to every HITcast as soon as possible. Finally someone without Hollywood ideology disease telling us what’s happening. Every podcast gets 5 stars from me. But why aren’t there a couple thousand ratings - or even a hundred - every week? I try to tell the world! Listen up! Hear some truth for a change.

    Great Alternative
I love this podcast and it's take on contemporary culture. I've slowly been building a daily alternative to NPR and this is one of my cornerstone shows.

    Great Podcast!
I’m not particularly conservative but I find this podcast helpful in finding good new movies as well as finding age-appropriate content for my kids. It has a real DIY vibe. Check it out!

    Pretty pretty pretty good
Good podcast. I enjoy the Ringer podcast the watch and channel 33 for culture updates, I put this on their level of quality and love of film, but without being beaten over the head with lefty politics mixed in.

    Fun and informative
This is a great pod for people interested in film, media, etc but are tired of the same lazy ideas from the same lazy places. Great guests, great commentary.

A True Intellectual (who’s funny too)
Entertainment is like food, you either like it or you don’t. Christian will evaluate entertainment based wholly on its merits and isn’t swayed to endorse or lambaste something because of politics. FINALLY someone who’s honest.

    Enjoyed it but...sound!
It’s a show about entertainment yet you haven’t hired a sound guy? Perhaps just a consultant to come in and set it up maybe?? Content is good. Sound is crap. Content is worth 4 stars.

    Good stuff
Got turned onto the podcast through listening to the Franchise. As a left of center listener I applaud Christian because, while I may not agree with his views, they are thought out and delivered in a grounded and articulate fashion. In an era where inflammatory click-bait hot takes are the norm, it’s great to hear a rational perspective that I wouldn’t otherwise be exposed to.

    The BEST take on Hollywood
Christian is hands-down my favorite news source on Hollywood. He cuts straight through the hypocrisy and BS that celebrities throw in our faces. He does it with optimism that always makes me feel better about the world. His interviews are getting better and better.

    Refreshing
Nice to hear Hollywood news and guests with a right of center point of view. Also thanks to your "The Franchise" commercial I'm a now fans if theirs.
  • Davejoh
Good for film buffs on the right
I enjoy listening to Christian on the Mike Rosen movie show, and on this podcast he gets a show all to himself. It's nice to get Hollywood commenatary and analysis that comes, at least implicitly, from a right-of-center perspective. And either way, it's good movie chat.

    Delivers in Toto
Christian brings a unique perspective having worked in and around Hollywood for a long time. He's able to point out the bias yet still deliver thoughtful commentary on the product from a center right perspective. We need more opinions like Christians in the media. He's a rising star!

A fresh ear on out dated Hollywood talk
What I love about this podcast is that it pulls the curtain back on Liberal Hollywood to let you hear people who think different and often time sane. Christian has a way of bringing out great stories and fact from his guest. If you're looking to hear something different this is the podcast. If you're looking to read a new take on Hollywood check out the hollywood Toto website.

    Always an entertaining listen!
Already like Christian on the local AM radio station on Saturdays with Mike Rosen. It's fun to hear him fly solo on this podcast too.
  • Rabid Moderate
    Interesting perspective
I always enjoy Christian on the radio, and find this podcast to be very easy to listen to. He's thoughtful, charming and offers a perspective that's much more moderated than you typically hear on other outlets.
  • swagger 7
    Crisp and Unique
A great podcast that perfectly captures the politics of Hollywood from a right-of-center perspective. Interesting for people from any side of the political fence, however. Really unique interviews with people like Kyle Smith, John Nolte, and John Sullivan- people the media may ignore, but Christian Toto really digs in and finds some incredibly interesting points about these people and the progression of their careers. The podcast is crisp and on point. Definitely worth a listen.

    Talk Show
For the best center-right review of pop culture, Hollywood, movies, entertainment, there's no one better than Christian Toto's Hollywood in Toto. A must-listen if you're interested in an entertaining view of everything Hollywood from a reasonably-minded, insightful person.
