Unbelievably basic and shallow… i miss Kev.

Been listening since the beginning, and during the Chris/KOC times this was 5 stars, and I understand times and people change (KOC leaving)…what made this show pop for so long was the chemistry and personality of both hosts. Jacoby just doesn’t mesh with Chris, it just doesn’t work. I hope the Ringer deeply considers a change in co-hosts with Chris for next season or this pod isn’t going to be around for much longer.

Goldsberry and Verno make a perfect combination. Different ways look the game, but both of them really know ball.

It's no longer an actual mismatch, because Verno and Jacoby are very much on the same wavelength. But it's still a great NBA podcast.

Great stuff, but can’t listen to on my headphones in bed with the volume levels varying all over the place. Guys gotta stay a consistent distance away from the mic, or have the editing team balance it out better. One guy is always louder than the other, and ads often WAY louder than the conversation. Cmon ringer!

Really enjoying Jacoby. Thought I’d miss the KOC dynamic but am liking this even more.

Verno thanks for the Grandma Kitty/Steph Curry shout out. I hadn’t heard about it, and I bet lots of other listeners hadn’t either. So maybe YOU should be the face of the league…cuz no doubt shining a light on stuff like that, is how you “build the brand” — among the casual fans & non-League Pass psychos. This show also gave me good laugh, because Verno was shrieking at Jacoby in his high-register, opera singer soprano-like voice (Re: Jimmy Butler as a playoff assassin)…and since I’ve been listening since the KOC days, I’ve badly missed the Verno shriek voice. Anyone who follows the NBA & knows basketball is familiar with David Jacoby — and he’s been a great addition to the show, coming in to partner with Verno. Keep up the great work, guys!

I’m a longtime listener of Verno’s local show in Memphis and I’ll continue listening to that everyday but I’m done with The Mismatch. Jacoby is a HORRIBLE fit and Verno is missing the balance Kevin brought. I actually prefer Kevin’s new podcast much more and it’s become my top NBA pod.

Used to love this show and i root for verno but he needs a new running mate.

Feel like Jacoby just does takes to have takes. Anyone who says they have enjoyed the last few All Star Games with players giving zero effort is either searching for an alternative take or shouldn’t be hosting a show about anything other than clowns.

Jacoby and Verno are so fun to listen to. This show has quickly climbed into my top 3 listens. Sorry KOC… Jacoby is way more entertaining

I do not enjoy Jacoby in anyway, but I love Verno I’m very conflicted on what to do now. unsubscribe and hurt verno or grit my teeth through a worst podcast because one of the hosts decided to up and leave.

This seems like the grumpy old men podcast without koc now, no fresh new voice.

So I just gotta say, Chris Vernon, you talk and talk and talk, and Kev can barely get a word in sometimes. You have a decent pod but if you want to be elite, CV, you need to become a better listener and it needs to be a better tennis match, back and forth. It’s not easy to listen to sometime. I can feel you thinking and trying to speak on a topic instead of giving air and room to your cohost at times.

I like Jacoby but I think Verno and him might be too similar in the way they view the game

Love the addition of Jacoby. He’s great at managing the flow of the show and has great chemistry with Verno. I’m glad we no longer have to hear about KOC’s music concert tours. Also don’t miss KOC’s squeaky voice. Everyone he got excited it sounded like he was in puberty again.

Show was listenable when Kevin was there to counter-balance Verno’s spicier takes. Jacoby, however, is the worst: not clear he watches all the games, has no analytic or tactical perspective, basically just gives loud hot takes that bring out the worst in Verno. Unsubscribing. Plz ringer just hire Zach Lowe and put this brain dead podcast out of its misery

Gotta agree with the other reviewers, this show was always a good listen but it just got great. The chemistry is off the charts, the takes are hot and it’s super funny. Well done guys.

I enjoyed the show with Verno and KOC, but it’s gone downhill from there. Not because I don’t enjoy Jacoby, he’s sweet. But Verno’s homerism is coming out in full force now, when he talks about Memphis, as well as when he talks about other teams that he thinks are getting the love Memphis deserves. KOC did a good job keeping him in check, but his takes are coming across way more as a fan than a broadcaster now. I guess he fits in though, since that is what half the ringer is about for Boston sports.

Started to like the show but the co host Chris is simply unbearable. Hard to believe this guy has a national podcast.

Always liked the show but with the addition of Jacoby I LOVE the show now. The chemistry is off the charts great. And love that Jacoby brings more of an everyday fan viewpoint to things. It’s a must listen twice a week. The amount of time I lol is crazy. GIANT upgrade from you know who (everyone can now admit how cringe he really was at times).

i have been a day 1 mismatch listener. im happy to have jacoby back on a pod. tried listening to the koc pod, not to be rude but this pod is much much better than that one

So happy to see this dude back on the pod game. Jalen & Jacoby was one of my go to favorites.

Still adjusting with the loss of KOC, really felt like a special pod with those two, but still a big fan. Want to see more classic ‘Mismatch’ debates but I think they’ll get there w Jacoby. With that said after listening to KOC’s new pod , it’s clear than Verno is the back bone of keeping a conversation lively and engaging for the listener!

Thought it was KOC I didn't like, but I guess it's Verno.

Loved the mismatch for years and genuinely enjoy Vernon and liked Jacoby with Jalen. This far I have not enjoyed the two of them together. Way too heavy on trendy topics and way too light on basketball analysis. Too much talk about ideas to fix the nba cup or jersey talk or court talk. KOC and Vernon did some of that but the heart of the show was always basketball analysis. This feels more like barbershop talk than basketball analysis which is fine but not for me. Still gave 5 stars for the years of entertainment Verno provided me and will check back in periodically.

I find the push by Ringer for blue sky to be off putting and alienating for an nba podcast. Ringer NBA coverage is begging to be the Kotaku for video games or MSNBC for news. That is a weird place to be moving towards and why nobody watches or cares about the NBA or things like Star Wars. You know the purpose is no longer the coverage or even game, it’s about spreading virtue and the message is my politics are righteous and the opposition to my politics deserve to be seen as less than human. The ringer is a clown show for allowing this. Crying Kimmel face : (

The man is 0-2 on co-hosts. KOC was a weirdass virgin and Jacoby is trying so hard to play a bit to get attention. Free Verno!

This show is so great with Jacoby on it. He’s always been a favorite of mine and he and Verno make a great team!

I’ve loved this show since its inception. I love Vernon and I loved KOC. Jacoby has been a brilliant replacement for Kevin O’Quitter ;) My only critique would be that the mismatch name makes less sense with these two. They sound like old friends. I enjoy it, but Jacoby seems like too nice a guy to mismatch with just about anybody. This podcast is no longer a mismatch. It’s a match made in heaven.

Seamless transition Jacoby adds a lot of laughs. Only hope for comedy’s sake Jalen and KOC get a pod together call it The Misalliance. Would probably last one episode but would be comedy gold.

Glad to hear Jacoby again. Got to give the people what they want!

Verno is a joke with his OKC takes. Jealous, vindictive, and insecure for sure with no substance or analysis. The podcast is fine but now I just really don’t like Verno as a person. Thumbs down.

Latest episode was decent till this Jacoby guy starts bagging on Russ, better without him in the building? What a cheap shot. Wannabe shock jock.

Why do yall hate the Pacers so much?

If typical sports radio is your thing, the new duo is for you. It’s just hot takes and speculation, more like a watered down First Take style show now. That has its place but it’s not for me. Gave it 4 because it’s a solid production and doesn’t deserve a low rating.
