QueensYankeeGalAmazing PodcastI’m a long time listener and fan. I learn something new from every episode. I appreciate the preparation and effort put into the show. I feel like I am listening to 3 friends of mine. As a self taught film nerd I recommend this podcast to everyone. I even listen to episodes more than once. Thanks Jess, John and Tom! I appreciate the your sense of humor as well.

WHMHTFavorite film podcastPossibly my favorite group of hosts to listen to. Their preparation for each show is impeccable and I always come away feeling like I learned something about films or the movie industry.
-
AlexanderDaGr888Talk about the subject please!I’ve listened to quite a few of these episodes and every one of them spends far more time talking about random topics or other films than they do talking about the subject of the podcast. You end up with maybe 20-30 minutes of what you’re looking for based on the title with a ton of filler. They could go so much more in depth on these films.

Kiblet22Cinema Criticism and CompanionshipTom, Jess and John, You may envision this podcast as a kind of personal passion project; a place where film enthusiasts come together to gaze and marvel at all of the little details that contribute to the magic of cinema. But, for me, this podcast was something more than this: you were my companions during this lonely and uncertain time. I’m from the UK, but I live abroad, and listening to your perspectives and movie picks brought me so much comfort. This is detailed, lively analysis showcases the many talents of its hosts, but honestly, it just means the world to me. I am most certainly sharing your nostalgia on the release of the 92nd episode! Thanks you folks.

tomcoatesJust love this podcastHonestly it’s great. Amiable, chatty, conversational, interesting. Lots of film facts and an incentive to watch all the best movie picks as well. Love it. Strongly recommend.

Merrimack-KidNever StopThe three of you, especially Jess, are terrific. You have to continue together once all the years are covered. A new topic must be covered by the three of you. I can’t think what that should be, perhaps Emmys or golden globes or just major events by year. But never stop!!! You’re great. Or just pick movies that you loved that were not Best Pics

JungleJon1989Greatly Informative and Extremely EntertainingLove the Podcast, I’ve listened to all the ones that I’ve seen the winner of (54/92 I believe) and I really appreciate the research you put into each episode, and keeping it entertaining throughout! Great Chemistry from the three of you, and I’ll be sad when it stops popping up, and hope you guys have another project after this one!

Classic Liberal 2020Great idea marred by SJW pontificatingThere’s a great idea here: three Brits in the entertainment industry randomly select an Oscar winning Best Picture, discuss the ceremony for the year it won, the overall year in cinema, and the making of the film, then watch the film and discuss its quality and whether it deserved to win. And it’s entertaining to hear their various opinions; but they tend to get mired in identity politics and SJW virtue signaling that it tends to get eye-rollingly silly. It would be nice if they were more open minded.

Holly J. CrossSo entertaining!!!Terrific!!! Not only do the hosts discuss the film, but they give tremendous background on the movie, directors, actors, facts about the year the movie came out, and other movies in that year that maybe should have won instead of the picture that actually took home the Oscar that year for Best Pic! The hosts are smart and funny, and it's a very well-produced podcast as well. Thanks for hours of entertainment John, Jess, and Tom! I appreciate all your hard work and dedication to the production of this podcast!

Kayela001000101000101Hate movies - love trivia - perfect solutionSo I am just not a movie person - the two hour format does not do it for me. I am, however, a trivia lover and podcast person, and therefore three people talking about a movie for almost as long as the actual movie is the perfect vehicle for me. The hosts are engaging, fun, smart, and interesting. I love their segments and perspectives. It’s a well-organized and well-produced affair! Great job guys!
-
SphinxyvicDon’t always agreeBut this podcast is really amazing for all the background stuff they add about the films and the people involved in them! Also re the biopic question: there is a Charles Darwin biopic, called Creation and starring Paul Bettany. It was pretty good, but a little bizarre.

Great reviews, coupled with Academy history and film facts, makes for a very entertaining and educational podcast. Recommend to all film fanatics, whether you're an Oscar watcher or not.

NickzolExcellentHighly entertaining and well structured. The three engaging hosts break down each Best Picture winner and give us great context on what is going on in Hollywood and the rest of the world at the time. Highly recommend it.
