This is my favorite podcast, hands down. These ladies work so hard to create informative, engaging, and super fun content. I think this podcast is totally accessible for long-time fans of kpop, or newbies! Aside from the in depth research and information, I think the best thing about this podcast is the friendship between Shannon and Angelica. They are hilarious, warm, and completely genuine. Every episode makes me feel like I’m hanging out with friends. S&A are knowledgeable and open to sharing what they love (like in the Bias episodes, so fun). I’m so grateful that this podcast has introduced me to tons of amazing groups and solo artists. Thank you for all your hard work, ladies! I look forward to this podcast every week! :)

amak is truly spectacular. if you like kpop, or even if you are just curious about it, this is the show for you. i’ve been listening for about a year, and amak has become a highlight of my week. i love how i’ve been able to grow as a kpop stan / get more into & learn more about kpop through this show, in fact i’ve become a deep shawol, a once & a monbebe because of it. if you like kpop, even if you don’t think you’re a podcast person, listen to this show, it’s incredible.

I recently discovered this podcast and binged it. If you are interested in kpop this podcast is for you. The hosts do a great job with researching and including examples in the podcasts. I have discovered some great new music by listening to them and I have learned so much.

I started to enjoy this podcast when I saw that they cater to old and new k-pop fans alike (I’m relatively new). I started to really enjoy them when they handled delicate topics with nuance and care. Then they bashed capitalism. I’m in love with this podcast.

These girls know what they’re talking about! Each episode is packed with research, humor, and keen insights. You can tell that they put a lot of work into this podcast and that they are the truest of Kpop fans.

This is a second to the reviewer who said this is their favorite podcast. Reading that made me realize I feel the same way. I like inspirational podcasts, story podcasts, but I realize this is the only one that I listen to as soon as I can, and find myself wondering if it’s Wednesday so I can listen to a new episode of AMAK. I laugh out loud and squeal while I am listening, getting strange looks from those sitting next to me, and I don’t care. That’s how good this podcast is.

This podcast is everything I was looking for! A healthy balance of music recs and interesting commentary on various aspects of KPOP and Korean culture, these girls are so charming, witty and funny, with a great chemistry between them that I can listen to for hours. 감사합니다 🤗

This podcast is so underrated!! It's fun and informative and most importantly, unintimidating!! Origin story: Whenever I vacation, I like to study up on one specific part of their culture before I go. I planned a trip to South Korea for Dec 2018 and decided to learn about K Pop. I would download a bunch of stuff from one group on Spotify and listen to it for a week on my daily run. I started with red velvet and was hooked!!! Immediately looked for podcasts to break things down even more. Somehow I only came across this one when I switched to overcast (early 2019). Needless to say I binged every episode in was less than two weeks — in this timeline, Angelica was only gone for a day but I still missed her so much for those episodes. I’m now caught up, and I just heard y’all talk about a “SEVENTEEN started pack”. I know this is a lot to ask but it would be amazing(!!) if y’all did a blog compiling a starter pack for different groups. Or a news letter. I don’t follow many newsletters but I would be all over that one. Just an idea. Y’all are truly amazing and I am so thankful for all the hard work you put in. Keep it up!

Amazing podcast! From a longtime fan of Kpop (We’re talking 2006 DBSK/TVXQ and SUPER JUNIOR days as a teenager) it’s extremely gratifying to hear the perspective of two knowledgeable individuals give their insight in a fun and unbiased way! Super informative for a Kpop newbie! I like that the hosts enjoy themselves, and I love it when they get really into a topic because it feels like the listener is joining them for the fun. Because of the show notes links and the random game I'm discovering all sorts of cool stuff, and I appreciate the great production and clear audio (and the cute intro music). The pace never drags, and both the hosts sound fantastic. I discovered this podcast at the perfect time!

Really informative and fun to listen to! My favorite episode is the Shinee one. Hearing Shannon and Angelica fangirl for three hours honestly gave me so much life.

I don't even like K-pop, and I throughly enjoy this podcast. If you want the history of K-pop and a good introduction to the fan culture surrounding it, this is the podcast for you. The conversations are lively, charming and informative. And Shannon has a unusually radio-friendly voice.
