Gamer4253New favorite podcast!BGB is an amazingly funny, entertaining, and informative board game podcast. The banter is on point and while I couldn’t disagree with Kellen’s game preferences more, the sass and chicanery he brings to the podcast is wildly entertaining. I started listening recently and have been working my way through the older episodes in reverse chronological order. I’m very confused as to why I got a top 10 Bird Games list but I’m so here for it!!! 😂

SomeDude6547Awesome show!Great hosts, unique topics, plenty of old and new game coverage. One of the best out there.

EdsmorgGreat Podcast, Great CommunityThere are two great things (among many) that make BGB stand out: the mix of hosts and the community they’ve created. All three (sometimes four, if we’re lucky) hosts have different tastes in games, but aren’t exclusive in their tastes. This leads to really good, thoughtful discussions about the games they review, and makes the main topics they have each episode engaging. Not to mention each episode I find myself laughing to myself at their quips and good natured ribbing of each other as I walk my dog. Their own personal friendships really shine through. As far as the second thing, the community around this podcast is wonderful. It’s full of welcoming people from all over the world and I’ve been so lucky to regularly meet up with local BGBers for games. What more could you ask for from a podcast about board games?

JesseandjennyWill be good when they figure out their micsI had to turn it off. The volume change between the two hosts was crazy. I had to keep turning it up and down. One host would blast me out and the next was too quiet. Content seemed good though.

italianbreadmanBest board gaming podcast?Mark, Neilan, Kellen, and Christina are a pleasure to listen to, and this is my favorite board gaming podcast as a result. There’s also a fun community attached to the podcast where you can participate in special events and contests like the one I “lost” this year by buying Sleeping Gods from another Discord member for a ridiculously low price ($0.01). Worth it.

Board ‘n GamingGreat podcast!Enjoy the show and love listening to everyone’s personality come out through the conversation of gaming!

Jt50 ++A staple in the board game space.Just a few months ago I ran out of episodes of a long running comedy podcast and found myself trying to fill the hours at work. I work in a kitchen so there is a lot of time to pass while I work. Skeptical of the board game podcast space I finally landed on the BGB “pod” and I’ll never look back. Listened to eighty some episodes in three months and the hosts have truly shifted my perspective on the board game space. The genesis from like to love of this podcast was the burgeoning era of cursing from Kellen. A well timed bleep cracks me up. All the hosts are amazing and you should definitely check out their podcast, discord and Patreon if you have the means to support this great style of content. Thank you BGB.

stickstomagnetsThe deep dives!I’ve listened to board game barrage for years, but I finally had to leave a review to acknowledge the depth of research they put into their November 23 “board game epochs” show. Even more impressive than usual!

Dukehockeyfun & right level of depth🎽 also i listen to you guys when i run, which is the highest level that i rate podcasts

TheECPThe Best Board Game PodcastThis is simply the best board game podcast. The chemistry between all four hosts is fun, and their different tastes for games can really help see things from different perspectives. But I especially love that they give plenty attention to older great games rather than just focusing on the latest BGG hotness, they have helped me curate a collection that includes several great games 10-30 years old. Lastly, their discord community is great and welcoming, and I love how friendly and accessible the hosts are, even being to play games with them on BGA. Mark especially helped me though a tough time and made me feel welcomed in the community and I’m forever grateful for this group of people ❤️

CaptainApeBoard game barrage: a great board game podcast.Found bgb from their draft episode with susd and now I think they have surpassed susd as my favorite gaming podcast. Great show keep up the good work 👍

Cappster_A Perfect 7 Star PodcastThanks to PrinceHarming for providing the two stars that iTunes won’t give me. Mark (Biblios Tank), Kellen (Sackson Tank), and Neilan (that Other Tank), put together a fun and informative Board Gaming podcast that covers all kinds of games and topics. Not all topics are bangers *cough* board games you’d eat *cough*, but at least the guys have the balls to put it out there so we can bust on them. If you’re not listening already, you should be.
-
PrinceHarmingNot much fun to be hadFor a podcast about games the hosts seem devoid of any sense of fun. They come across as know-it-alls, condescending and only seem to have a good time when they’re poking fun at each other. The one exception is Christina who comes across with a sense of fun, she has a personality. The episodes she on, especially when she’s driving that particular episode, are good. But she isn’t on very often. I unsubscribed after giving the show a decent shot, maybe 20 episodes.
-
mDougalMy Favorite PodcastThis show is the best. As someone who mostly plays family games with other humans, and hobby games solo, I love the variety of games covered. These four tanks are smart! They analyze every facet of a games design and talk about how the game made them feel. This is excellence in board game podcasting.
-
Small MeepleOld man keeps yelling about BibliosDon’t trust these guys, they’re clearly funded by big meeple. They keep pushing their favorite publisher (boardgametables.com) that isn’t a publisher? We see through the thin facade. 5/5 listen in weekly. Better with snack but OK without one.
-
SomeguyinIndianaThe Best Board Game PodcastShut up and Sit Down owns the YouTube space, but Board Game Barrage is the king of board game podcasts. They cover a wide variety of games every week, from the latest hotness to whatever old relic from Mark's youth he happened to have dug out of his closet recently. My only complaint is Kellen's overwhelming positivity can sometimes get a bit grating; he never has a bad word to say about anything they play. Seriously though, great podcast.
-
JuxkBest Podcast Ever CreatedBoard Game Barrage is my favorite board game podcast. The tanks have great chemistry and always give concise, insightful reviews of both the latest hotness and underrated gems. The podcast has an amazing Discord community where people often get together in person and online to play and discuss games. I recently participated in The Contest which was organized by Woggers on the Discord. Contestants tried to see how long they could go without buying new games this year. I lost recently because I played Arkham Horror: TCG, which was locked in my “vault” as part of the mandatory Contest challenges. I then proceeded to buy Blue Lagoon, a favorite of the BGB crew. Listening to the BGB podcast each Thursday is a highlight of my week. Keep up the good work!
-
thedaviestgravyIt’s me, hi, I’m the contest loser it’s meBGB is an excellent podcast. Even more so, an excellent community that delights in the exposure of your lack of self control. I have lack of self control. What lost me The Contest?? It was Japanese imports, that’s what. Blast or Nothing is great, but not sure that was worth losing. If it wasn’t that it would’ve been Summoner Wars or Cthulhu Wars explains 💉 In any case, great pod and great community!

Kierkegaard555Funny, Insightful, and ConsistentThis podcast is great to listen to. The contributors are funny, know each other well, have an insightful perspective on the board game hobby, and are very consistent about dropping episodes. What more could you want.
-
zackofthenorthseaBest Podcast EverThis truly is an amazing podcast. I discovered these guys last year and have since listened to every episode. They inject a lot of humor into the show, while still staying on topic and providing interesting insight about the hobby. All three guys have varied tastes in games, so you hear a different angle on a lot of releases. Even though I’ve never met them, every Thursday I feel like I’m sitting down listening to three of my best friends talk about what they love, which is the highest compliment I could give a podcast.
-
BdizzleekydoodahGet ready for Kellen, he’s the funny one!Great podcast with great topics! You’ll hear terms like the teach, by virtue, tempo consideration, and many more!

ComstockOhioBaby’s first podcast…JK. Been listening to boardgame podcasts for years, but came across this one not long ago. Got hooked, it’s so good I listened to all 256 episodes (in reverse order, not sure why). How many hours is that, how fast did I go through them all….Who could say. too bad Biblios is out of print and this podcast made me buy a copy on the second hand market….the whole crew is great, but the one that always makes me laugh is…….Green!

BWhit87MehNot the worst but the heavy lisps and inside jokes get old real quick.
-
writetheskyRed, Orange, Green, and BlueThree friends who are drawn to different things within the board games they play. They’re funny and well spoken (maybe funny or well spoken) and they’re board game chatter is engaging and thoughtful. While I align the most with the Red Tank, I imagine the views of the other tanks would give a voice to others in the board game space. Thanks for your good work!

D Money 48675309Three great hosts brought down by oneI started listening to this podcast at the recommendation of SUSD. Mark, Neilan, and Christina are fantastic hosts. However, Kellen’s arrogance and constant berating of his co-hosts really brings down this podcast. The difficult part is I actually enjoy Kellen’s discussions about board games, but constantly putting down the other hosts gets old very quickly.

Panthermed25Halfway and can’t stopThis podcast is something I checked out after the birth of my second child looking for a new board game podcast. I started listening to episode 1 two months ago and cant’t stop. The banter and discussions between the three hosts and regular guest the blue tank, will sometimes just make me laugh out loud! My board game tastes don’t fully align with this group but I can’t wait to learn one of each of your favorite games in the future!! Keep up the great work! Oh and the orange tank is best tank, not just by color of tank, but also based on how some of our taste in games align!!
-
J GreenawaltThe most genuineBoard Game Barrage has quickly become one of my new favorite podcasts. Their banter is some of the most genuine in the business. The Kellen’s sarcasm and dry humor is second to none, Neilans kindness and likability warms the heart, Christina’s charisma and laughing fits make it impossible to not laugh along and Marks game knowledge and insightful critiques keep me interested. If I had to pick one thing that keeps me coming back though it would definitely be the swearing. No joke it is so refreshing, to hear people swearing and just being normal people like me and my friends. In a community that seems tip toe around offensive behavior such as swearing and even being negative about games they stand above it all by just being genuine and by being themselves.

lpchengAwesome workKeep up the awesome show!

GanybyteGreat podcast that’s fallen into a rutGreat game podcast that really stood out a few years ago, but these days I end up wishing I’d skipped about half of each episode. They used to be 5 stars for me, but lately they have fallen into a rut with this battle of games “fire away” filler bit they do that for some reason is now more than 50% of most episodes. With this latest episode, Bob the Beauty, for example they take two random games and pretend to compare them for “beauty”, tournament style, but really they each just pick whichever game they like better while giggling at eachother like middle school kids. This segment clearly is a joke, which is fine, but instead of 10 minutes every once in a while it’s taken over most episodes and I always come away wishing I’d just skipped that part.

RawApples2-4 hosts, playtime 45-75 minTired of Brits waxing poetic about Concordia? Worn down by Canadians and their love of dexterity and cosmic amphibians? Look no further than this entertaining blend of 2-4 hosts who secretly love each other while competing for the top honor of best player…or at the very least not letting Neilan win.

DasistSuperlative board game podcast - fun, engaging, thoughtfulThis podcast brilliantly balances a fun conversation between friends with a well-structured, well-edited show about the games the hosts have been playing and other topics around the hobby. There's banter and life to it but also clear and honest mini-reviews and impressions. It helps that the hosts also have a variety of preferences for different types of hobby games and different proclivities for how they approach playing.
-
kdeckerrLove this PodcastI listen to about 10 game board podcasts and this one is my favorite. I love the banter and chemistry among the hosts and the diverse opinions. They cover new games and classics. I always love hearing what games the hosts played between podcasts. Keep it going!

AT PhilVerbal abuse isn’t rightLove the podcast, but there are times when name calling and degrading is had in the show, to an extent that’s not comfortable for me. Even if it’s supposed to be funny, over time this type of abuse sinks in and starts to mold your self-perception. You begin to believe the words that are said about you. It needs to stop. Be kind in other ways.

Giuliano CGBest podcast out thereEvery week I look forward to listening to these guys. They are not afraid of telling us what game they don't like. Rare these days and really appreciated! While I don't like many of the games they like, it's always good to hear what they have to say. For example, Biblios as the best game of all times??? Come on, guys! It shouldn't be allowed! Other than that, they are awesome!
-
JaccuseVTCan a podcast be a perfect 10?BGB comes pretty darn close! I listen to a fair amount of board game podcasts but I get giddy when Thursday comes around and I can listen to these tanks pontificate about board games for an hour and change. Is the banter witty? Eh. Do they say “sure sure” and “but, buuut” too much? Sure. But what I love most about them is their clear love for each other. It truly is endearing and infectious like a warm cup of cocoa. All you Kellen haters need take a step back. He makes the show. No he’s not my favorite tank (that goes to Tom Brewster). So shut up and sit down and listen. iTunes only let’s me give 5 stars, but if I could give 10 stars I would still only give 8.63 stars.
-
MindbnderToo much stanky snarkI’ve tried on several occasions to like this show but the constant snark and denigrating comments by the nasally voiced one keeps pushing me away. It’s okay for other people to like things, man. Lay off.

Cap_N_Jack300th iTunes Review: In Short, It’s GreatKellen, Neilan, Mark, and occasionally Christina (too occasionally), are the best kind of board game enthusiasts. They’re the kind that can talk cogently, entertainingly, and clearly about their opinions on games. The format of talking about three recent games and then a thematic subject works wonders for pacing, and the show is a breezy delightful hour (though I treasure the moments I look at my feed and see an extra long episode). I struggled a little bit with whether to fill this small review with in-jokes (perhaps a reference to how much I love episode 139—though that would be disingenuous, the best episodes all have four hosts, not three, and the red tank is beloved), but I wanted instead to say something sincere. The board game hobby has smart voices, enthusiastic voices, welcoming voices, and more. But they don’t have anyone as suffuse with pure joy as the Board Game Barrage folks. After listening to their back catalogue (some of it while unemployed and depressed), they feel like friends—friend who are knowledgable about boardgames, so the best kind of friends.

MBC 19Hands-down the best!Undoubtedly the best board game podcast out there! Perfect balance of humorous banter, insightful reviews, and heartfelt friendship. Inspires me to be a better man. I mean gamer. Their latest episode was the best one they’ve had in a long while - 212 Hope you guys continue the podcast for years to come! Seriously cannot imagine having to drive to work without the sweet sounds of the tanks in my ears.
-
Starznspock4everBrilliant PodcastAn amazing podcast about board games the three tanks + the intern (aka blue tank) are amazing. The bickering, inside jokes, and exchanges are an amazing dynamic and they maintain an amazing and engaging dynamic that allows you to feel immersed in the conversation. I found this podcast after I moved across country and I no longer have a board game group to play non-solo versions of games. Although I am hoping to make new friends in my new city, this podcast allows me to have an outlet into the hobby!

Refpeh16Wait, are we friends?I don’t typically write reviews ever, but I feel like this one is warranted. Not gonna lie, I definitely boarded this train pretty late… I was introduced to BGB through hearing about them via SUSD, so my curiosity peaked, and I started listening. I don’t particularly share their opinion in regards to most of the games they review, but their banter is so incredibly hilarious that it doesn’t even matter. I will say though, that their opinions on board games have kept me more openminded to games I wouldn’t particularly gravitate towards, which definitely deserves merit. They share their experiences in such a way that really makes you feel like you’re lifetime friends. Definitely going to keep listening!
-
amdadyHonest and Trustworthy ReviewEveryone on this podcast is great that isn’t named Kellen. Kellen is so rude to Mark and Neilan that it’s amazing to me that they invite him back every week. With friends like Kellen, who needs enemies? I do enjoy their banter, but often Kellen takes it a bit too far. Besides Kellen, I do enjoy everything else about the podcast and their insight on games that may or may not be worth playing.
-
chileangumbinoTop of the ClassWhen it comes to board games this show has quality and quantity. Check out their wiki for games. These people have their stuff together. AND they’re not terrible to listen to. Their diverse personalities make for an entertaining and professional show. This show is top of the class. Primary Host of Board Game Snobs Gaby

Joe'SchmoeOutstandingly charming!Despite playing a LOT of board games, I don’t really find myself listening to any board game podcasts. Or at least, I didn’t, before I randomly stumbled upon this one! The cast here is incredibly charming, with great takes on games and some really warm banter to accompany them. I’d absolutely recommend you give this a listen!
-
Grosario611One of the best board game podcastsBGB is hands down my second favorite podcast (SVWAG still reigns supreme). I love the banter and different opinions represented by Kalen, Mark, and Neilan. These guys all have insightful comments on the games they’ve played. The best part is they often disagree and although they do rag on my favorite tank a bit too much (team red tank), they are always respectful to one another and you can tell they value each other’s opinions. Also, it’s just neat to see someone from the Bronx on a board gaming podcast. -Gus

Max T AlexanderThe best way to start your Thursdays (and every other day ending in Y)BGB and the quartet behind it have given me my favorite reason to look forward to Thursday mornings! The show's casual but directed structure makes for great discussion on board games (new and old) and the questions and themes that span genres and life as a board gamer. Each of the four hosts are affable and express their likes and dislikes in a way that makes it easy to understand and relate to. Whether you like games where you can see your enemies' armies fall before you, don't care if you're losing as long as you're laughing, or just really like monks, you'll find valuable, friendly voices within the BGB crew. I'm looking forward to listening for years to come!
-
BriKGreat board game podcastEach episode is worth listening to and the hosts sound like they are having a good time (which projects onto the listener). If only I could get Siri and Alexa to play it on command!
