    Funny and Insightful
Greg Velasquez is by far the best technical analyst of the game. All the hosts are smart and funny. I often relisten to episodes for the great vibes and LOL moments.

    Great pod, listened for years.
Great pod all around, all the people giving 1 star over minor details are drama queens

    Explicit WHY???
Sad to think now have to check each podcast to see if it’s rated clean or explicit. Obviously, you could’ve cleaned up the podcast before posting it. What does that say about you?
  • @Gringo_Mark
    Great interview with Sebi Salazar!
As a youth volunteer coach, I agree with most of what Sebi said except the part about kids watching soccer. For example, during Champions League, I would send clips of videos to my son of his favorite players: Yamal, Mbape, Hakimi, etc. but he already has the same plays and some better angles from the multiple videos posted in social media shared with his friends. Social media has changed and will keep changing access to the game. Saludos

    Domestic abuse apologists
From 1 star to 2 stars bc Belz admitted to being a eurosnob. Once Greg stops shilling for mls I’ll revisit this rating. * Back to 1 star when you brought Matt Doyle on. I hope this podcast collapses.

    Terrible Leadership and Editorial Decisions
These guys claim to support the women’s game, but it’s just not true. They announced they are ending their women’s coverage because, in part, a few long-time listeners felt they were, and this is a direct quote from Adam Belz, “bait-and-switched” because Scuffed started covering women’s soccer.

    Thank you
Found from woso coverage, really enjoying it. Even dipping my toes in broso because y’all are so enjoyable.

First rate content start to finish.
Absolutely LOVE the content of this podcast. I appreciate the no frills just facts aspect of the vibe, as well as the tangents and sidebars that each host goes on— let’s us see them as people more than pundits. Production values have improved greatly from early days. Quality and integrity through and through.

    Scuffed: where memories are made
This is a podcast with soul, veracity, and vim. Belz is the protagonist who works alongside compatriots Vince, Tara, Greg Velazquez (away goals), and watke to weave a tapestry of footballing fervor. I wish they would go more into detail about youth soccer but maybe there’s not as much of an appetite for it. The recent episodes with Salerno discussing the champions league have been okay. Salerno provides a decent foil for the even keel of Belz and Tara. I’d like to see more pushback against his takes but they might be giving him grace because he’s new.

    USMNT and USWNT focused
If you are a fan of US national team soccer, USMNT or USWNT, this is a great podcast. They follow the established pool players at their clubs and are always interested in the up and coming players too. In depth analysis from die hard fans who put in the effort to not just offer takes.

    Best USA Soccer Pod
The only American soccer podcast worth listening to. The exact opposite of the Lalas podcast. Great coverage and analysis of both the women’s and men’s game, and a fantastic group of hosts. The discord is also my go-to place for written soccer analysis. Both from the hosts and the listeners

    Iconic pod with iconic people
Are you in need of a podcast that will change your life for the better? This is the pod for you. Each time i get that little notification of a new episode, i sprint to this app. If podcasts were usmnt players, this one would be Christian Pulisic (or Jedi if you’re a cool kid)

    Great show!
Excellent women’s soccer coverage - I’ve been looking for a podcast like this for months! Keep up the WOSO commentary!

    Your thoughts on USMNT
Guy’s what are your thoughts on Gareth Southgate?

A must listen for any USMNT fan.
Love the banter, analysis and overall vibe of the pod. Highly recommend.

    Mostly mean :/
Majority of what they say about women’s game is negative. Not just about players but about coaches etc. There’s little nuance. Appreciate criticism and feedback about women’s soccer, but there’s so much negativity I have stopped listening.
  • Decumaria
    The Snarky US Soccer show
The Snarky US Soccer show never covered the USWNT until 2022, admittedly ignorant of the women’s game, perhaps reluctantly, and certainly unaccustomed to following winners. But a USWNT (4 x World Cup, 4x Olympic champs) on the rebuild perfectly suits their snarky take on the ugly game portrayed here.

    Tara needs her voice
The guys are shutting her down too much, too loudly. Generally love you guys but listen. For example, Crystal was bad this game.

    Best US Soccer Content Periodt
My favorite podcast of any genre. Belz is an amazing interviewer and Greg an insightful analyst. The Monday reviews are completely hilarious, and the team is always looking for new angles and ways to keep things fresh. If you are interested in current and future US internationals then this is the gospel.
  • HikerBob69
    Some episodes are great
Vince talks about race a weird amount. While I even agree with the views, it’s just unnecessary and a bit awkward in a soccer podcast. Sadly, he’s the reason I cancelled my Patreon contribution. Greg Velasquez seems very knowledgeable. Belz is a solid interviewer! When it’s just those 2, it’s a 5 star podcast.
  • ajoseph8
    Great podcast!
Scuffed is an extremely enjoyable podcast for those who like soccer and more specifically who follow US Soccer. The hosts do a great job breaking down games, scouting players, and producing truly enjoyable content. Highly recommend!
  • eg09vt
    Could not be more negative
I don’t think you can find a group of people more interested in tearing players down, unless you’re a favorite of one of the hosts. Incredibly condescending, especially when speaking about the women’s players. I have tried and tried to listen but the negative attitude toward players because of what club team they play for or take the spot of one of their favorites is grating. They “grace” us by talking about the women once every two weeks but spend the entire time talking about the same three or four players, even when they aren’t on the field, or in some cases, haven’t touched a ball in 18 months. Production quality is extremely low and they sound like men who are recording in their mothers basement.

    Couch Critics
Listened to a dozen or more episodes. There appears to be a lack of experience on the Pod. I doubt any of the hosts have played soccer at a moderate level or higher. Playing or coaching brings a different level of understanding. I would be okay recommending this to casual fans or people who became fans later in life. But if you have played or coached at a high level, there is not much here for you. I would push those to Sam’s Army for a soccer bro take. Or I would recommend State of the Union for a more family oriented and polished POD. And ESPN FC has a lot of good content too. There is also biases that creep into the analysis. This further reduces the credibility of the Pod.

Essential listening for US Soccer fans.
The Scuffed team has an extraordinary depth of knowledge and does excellent analysis. Must listen for US Soccer fans. That said, they really don’t seem to enjoy watching football, like the teams (less a few select players) and act like all the coaches are idiots. They also seem to feel that having to talk about the teams is a burden. Not much joy in it for them. A shame really. It is a very weird attitude to take when no one is forcing them to watch these teams or to make this podcast. I enjoy watching football, even when my team is not perfect, even when they cause me pain. I wish the Scuffed team felt the same way.
  • Ian Faison
    Best soccer podcast
Belz, Greg, Watke and Vince are the best in the biz. Highly recommend!
  • RM5
A great combination of insight, wit, and humor
I’ve been listening to the pod since 2019, Belz and Velazquez provide thorough, insightful commentary for the USMNT and USWNT. It’s my favorite US Soccer pod by a mile! Newer team additions Watke, Vince, and Tara are also wonderful and have great chemistry. The Scuffed discord is also a great community with lots of soccer discussions to be had every day. Join the Scuffed movement!
  • JediRobinson
    Detailed Analysis
The Scuffed crew is both well informed and entertaining. Mainstream sports analysis has become more surface level, but Scuffed has not fallen in line. This is the best US Soccer-themed podcast by far.
  • Señor Ferguson
Best spot for US (both men and women) soccer fans!!!
If you want to dive deeper into your fandom of the US National Teams, this is the spot!!! They have a good balance in their coverage. Match recaps are a little more tactically curious and try to break down what happened and why. The Monday reviews and WoSo Wednesday shows are a little looser and try to have fun while reviewing what’s going on with the NT players at their clubs. Just a great group of people talking about the men and women who wear the Stars and Stripes!
  • Clawstopher
    Both technical and entertaining
The shows a much more tactically-focused and analytical than other USMNT/USWNT adjacent pods, while simultaneously not taking themselves too seriously and providing plenty of entertainment. Plus quantity to go with the quality during major tournaments. Pretty incredible feat to be all of those things at once.
  • AkeMan23
    One of the best
Great pod. Knowledgeable hosts with good perspective that are consistently entertaining and insightful. Great interviews and content outside the games. Must-listen for US soccer fans.
  • reviewsarecool567
    woso Wednesday the best
I’m just really happy to find something that can be fun and a little silly and also have good thoughtful takes on the nwsl and uswnt, scuffed threads that line perfectly and I look forward to woso Wednesday releases :)
  • James D8
    Insightful, sober analysis
There’s not a better podcast on American soccer and I’ve tried a bunch of them. All of the hosts are informative and have great chemistry, which makes it a joy to listen even (especially!) when the on field results are frustrating. I particularly appreciate the player and team analysis of performance and tactics, not just relying on narratives or passions, but actually describing the good and bad of what goes on the field. Not to mention the interviews with players and other important figures, and the community around Scuffed is a blast too. Couldn’t recommend it more!

    Favorite Soccer Podcast
This is my favorite soccer podcast. Love the commentary that Adam and Greg bring to the US Soccer landscape, and the Monday Review crew bring so much to the podcast as well. Keep these guys in your rotation.
  • TheTruth530
    Great podcast.
Best usmnt coverage. Best uswnt coverage. Best podcast. Belz got the best voice in the business.
  • GrahamJoseph
The most thoughtful, nuanced, cheerful US soccer podcast
They take the fun seriously and have fun with the serious stuff. Belz has investigative-reporter instincts, Watke’s absurdist good humor, Vince’s emotional intelligence, Tara’s encyclopedic knowledge. A joy to listen to.
  • JoeyO5
    Best Soccer Podcast Out There
No one, and I mean NO ONE, provides the amount of measured depth and insight into the beautiful game liked Scuffed does. Even more impressive to do so in a grassroots way. Big ups to everyone who puts in the work to make Scuffed a must-listen!
  • MrMagoo2True
    Patreon content totally worth it!
Wanted to give a quick shout out to the Monday Reviews for patrons, such a great weekly recap and there are usually longer versions of interviews which can include questions submitted by listeners. Love the Scuffed Crew!
  • billmapp
detailed analysis with good vibes and creativity
The best independent US soccer analysis I can find in podcast form. Over time they’ve added more content and cohosts so there’s a little something something for all types of national team fans. If you’re into independent US soccer coverage , this is the pod for you.

… and it’s not even close. Greg, Belz, Vince, Tara, and Watke give you actually good sports punditry (really! It exists!) while also being just hella funny and likable.

    Terrible pod
This jabronis don’t know ball. Listening to them is like nails on a chalk board. They’re a couple of animals that don’t deserve your attention.

    WOSO Wednesday
Between the recaps and WOSO Weds eps, I’ve really been enjoying learning more about women’s soccer. Thanks!! Save corncob TV!!!
  • Nickname - Cara
Unfollowed (rating not reflective of thoughts)
I unfollowed the show, not super interested in hearing people trash on Morgan just because it’s trendy. Some of the episodes are worth listening to (the actual analysis of games). But the woso Wednesday hosts often devolve into parroting what’s popular to say on Twitter without providing any substantive analysis or justification for their opinions. (Leaving a 5 star rating because I can’t submit a review without rating the show. Half of the show is worthwhile, and there are only so many podcasts that discuss American women’s soccer.)
  • CTU_Maven
This is the way to keep up with US Soccer teams
Thoughtful insight, witty comedy and honest discussion and banter about our squads. Indispensable for an ultra and welcoming for someone recently infected with love for the beautiful game.
