I’ve listened to Morbid for a long time and have loved the podcast but too much of politics has been being thrown in lately. If I want to hear about political opinions I’ll listen to a political show. I listen to get away from that. I don’t care which side your on I’m not interested in hearing about in the shows I choose to listen to. But hey it’s their show they can do what they want but I’m choosing to not listen anymore.

Ash and Alaina can discuss anything they want on THEIR podcast. Politics are mentioned for thirty seconds and people are losing their minds. Love always to the both of them.

I used to really love this podcast. They tell such interesting and important true stories. I’m not sure if I’ve just become aware of it over time or if they’ve turned into this, but they are very judgmental about people and situations they’ve never been in, and they beleaguer the same points over and over again. I’m not saying that their points aren’t valid, but it’s repeated again and again and again (AND again) throughout the episode. I can’t listen anymore.

I used to love this podcast more before they got so political. We get that you’re liberals but come on, not everyone agrees with you politically & we only come to hear the cases. They push too much on their own opinions & their own identities instead of just talking about cases. I had to stop listening to one case in particular because they would NOT stop repeating themselves about a certain topic. It’s definitely a turn off and I’m starting to lean away from here more & more.

I love this podcast however, I do not like the jibber at the beginning where they make talk about their politics. We are all allowed to feel out own ways I do not agree with them politically but love the podcast. I’m about to not follow because sometimes I have to turn it due to this.

I used to love morbid and tell people to listen. Now, I’m tired of the hatefulness toward people that don’t share their views Which they probably don’t realize how many of their loyal listeners this is (was).

If these two would stick to crime they would open their audience base. I keep checking the comments to see if they have slowed their roll on their political commentary. They haven’t and apparently will not. Minds will not change on a crime podcast. You are entertainment not political news. Young minds are more conservative than ever. Better watch who your next audience will be.

This used to be my favorite podcast. But lately, especially since the start of the year, starting each episode with 10-15 minutes of you both putting down half the country based on politics, is not okay. Ash- the reason why you woke up one day and was following trump, is because you followed the POTUS account, and when he became POTUS he took over the account. It’s not some big conspiracy. Also, it always confuses me when people advocate for mental health so fiercely and then turn around and say things like “I really can’t understand and don’t understand how people can like the orange man”. As someone who lost a brother to mental health, I think bullying in any form is gross. I’ve been following/ subscribing to you gals for 5 years, but sadly I think it’s time to move on. Alaina I bought both the books and loved them. Makes me sad, but clearly if we don’t agree politically, you don’t want us to follow you. So point taken.

A True Crime Podcast spouting “tips” on how to avoid ICE? Yikes. You all ever consider covering Laken Riley’s murder? Ever heard of her ?…..Do better.

Long time listener and subscriber. Love the books too. Unfortunately I feel the y’all are too political now. Immigrants who become hard working citizens are awesome! Those that commit a crime and take away resources Americans need are not. And Elon is smart… this woke agenda that is clearly not researched on their end outside of liberal propaganda is sad when all they do is preach against said false narratives. Hypocritical and I’m ending my subscription. Also it seems the stories are super watered down now as if they’re afraid to offend someone now. It’s crime. If you can’t stomach the details, maybe listen to something else??? I’m fine with getting past politics. We all have different views, but this is too much ladies, way too much. :/ what a bummer. Taints the entire listening experience.

I love you ladies. I hate hearing your political views that continually keep being dropped into the episodes. It doesn’t matter what your political views are. This is not a political podcast, if I wanted to listen to a political podcast, I would go find one. Please stick to true crime and stop with the politics. Since you are now not only not stopping with the politics, but actually bashing people publicly, you have lost a follower. So very sad.

I get it. You don’t like murders. Same here. So much time spent just saying how much you don’t like them again and again. I guess I don’t like this podcast. Also I think you should know how to pronounce “appellate” if you are hosting a show like this.

Haters and hate-spreading trolls in the comments: if you dont agree with politics that spread love, care and respect for others or don’t agree with these amazing women who are speaking out against or dismiss people who spread hate and cause unspeakable harm to other humans, out of greed, narcissism or plain stupidity, then get out of here and work on your human empathy instead of getting brainwashed. It’s sad to see. You ladies are amazing and your hearts and voices are so important to be heard and seen. Please DO keep sharing your political views and opinions.

I’m a long time listener and not a reviewer but in light of the recent reviews I feel like I should say something. You gals are amazing! Your show is great, banter is top notch, attitudes are amazing! Politics are your own and if you want to speak on it speak on it. Who cares if someone else disagrees. Old cases? Keep em coming! Cover what you want and we’ll show up and listen. I genuinely think people need to get a life or at least some perspective. Have a great day yall!

HUMANS AREN’T POLITICS, thank you for being authentic, recognizing that so many of our fellow humans (weirdos and non-weirdos) are under attack and speaking out about it. The show is great. Love the way the ladies speak about the actual topic. However, not a fan of them speaking for 10 minutes about random things before the show. I have to spend time adjusting the time as I don’t relate or care for the convo leading in. I do love that you use the platform to speak about important topics currently happening.

I’m on my 3rd time of starting the whole podcast over and I can once again see why I never finish & get up to date on episodes. 1) I have no idea why it is titled “Morbid” when they rarely go into details about the actual murder. They gloss over details just because they can’t stomach the facts. How can your podcast name be “Morbid” but you’re uncomfortable sharing the actual details of what happened? Grow up and tell us what happened, don’t just summarize because you have a weak stomach. 2) Ash- You’ve grown on me. You used to annoy the F out of me with your valley girl accent and the way you say “exacTly” and the exacTly is still nails on a chalkboard but we look past it. This time around though, you’re my favorite and I find you absolutely hilarious. You do an amazing job with the cases you share and I really enjoy the episodes you host. 3) Alaina- Please shut up. We know, we know… you’re a mother, you can’t even fathom, you hate the LAPD and your ex boyfriend, you’re still hung up on your ex from high school, you wrote some mediocre novels and you’re so much smarter than everyone. Please stop interrupting Ash and stop trying to let everyone else know how smart you are. 4) Enough with the politics. We don’t give a flying flock what your political views are. I personally love the cussing and banter but enough with the politics. Trump won and your life will be a lot better because of it, I promise. 5)This will sound insensitive but can we please get more updated cases? I’m nearing the more recent episodes and see that most of us keep asking for cases after the 70’s yet you don’t listen. We’re tired of cases from the 1800’s, just stop. I’m going to try and finish every episode this time but find myself constantly eye rolling at Alaina. She has to be one of the most insufferable people I’ve ever heard speak. I can’t even fathom what John sees in her 🙄

If you want to hear two liberals drone on about crime, this is your podcast. They don’t even have the ability to research weapon terms or simple military definitions. It’s as annoying as them acting concerned.

Their episode on the Kendrick Johnson death is very poorly researched and disgusting to listen to. They perpetuate misinformation that has been proven false.

Hello! I think you guys are amazing and respectful of what y’all do. Always trying to keep others in mind and be considerate of feelings. While the same times letting us know what evil there is in the world. I hope one day y’all can visit more down south and experience the issues we are now to understand where some people come from places like Texas. I live in a very small town close to the boarder. my hometown experienced a tragedy where a political issue was arise and everybody got lost in the madness. While there is fake news and real news we need to be aware that there’s issues bigger than our feelings. Grateful to have a place where I can unwind and listen to something I enjoy but at the same time wish people understood that there is real tragedy going with controversial issues. With political talk all over every platform, I’m begging you to not bring it to this podcast. Everyone has different views and opinions and this is the only place where I can go and hear none of it, please don’t change that.

You do not have to add political jabs to most of your listeners to be entertaining. It makes you sound self righteous and it really downgrades your podcast. It is much higher to stick to entertaining. I know you want to add your two cents, but you are definitely not in the majority and it turns out people off.

I have listened to Ash and Alaina from the very beginning and have always been obsessed with this podcast. As of lately though the political commentary has been way too much and for people who push the agenda so heavily to be “all inclusive”, I find the way that you talk about Christianity to be very gross and in poor taste. You would never mock other religions and clearly you know nothing about it so why are you inserting your opinions? The liberal agenda is too much.

I’ve been listening to these ladies for years now but here lately it’s really gotten political. I understand people have their own views but not everyone thinks like them. I come here to listen to a true crime podcast not to listen to how they feel on politics. I will never not like someone for their views but this podcast isn’t the place to be talking about it. I don’t think I will be listening to them as frequently anymore there’s just too many political comments. And also if ICE is going to investigate someone they will have a warrant before showing up.

After much sampling of podcasts, this is my prize winner for hitting a lot of goals. Love the hosts, love the delivery, love the subject matter, love the tone. This is a rare true crime podcast which regularly goes back to the 19th and early 20th centuries.

I’ve listed for years, I used to really enjoy the podcast but I won’t listen at all anymore. They start every show with nonsense talk for 10-15 minutes that, seems to be just to take up time. The bigger reason I’m done is they insert their liberal agenda and views into the show, the comment about avoiding ICE did it for me. Casefile true crime podcast puts them to shame anyway.

I’m not entirely sure why I thought two vapid twits reading the Wikipedia entry for rando true crime WOULDN’T veer into the requisite (albeit ironic, given the subject matter of the program) social justice virtue signal faux-lament of “arresting illegal aliens is bad”, but hey….lesson learned. I guess the moral of the story is if you don’t want to hear dummies regurgitate other people’s half-baked opinions, don’t listen to Morbid…a.k.a “The Vocal Fry Story Hour.”

This podcast used to be good when politics are not brought up on the side. Not all of your listeners share your view and I’m over the fear mongering, world is still spinning and it’s fine. Stick with the crime and paranormal stories, bc that’s what we love about you guys.

I don’t really do reviews, but the negative reviews are pissing me off. Personally I love you guys and the podcast!! Y’all are one of the only ones i listen too these days. I like when y’all chit chat at the beginning, I think it’s more personable and y’all don’t even talk for that long. It’s wild to me that these women preach and preach and preach about how to treat others and then they can’t even practice what they preach. Can’t stand people like this. Get off your high horse.

I wanted to tell you my experience! My husband and I were married (I was 16 and he was 18)for 43 years! Jan 2023 I had open heart surgery-2 days after I got home from the hospital he unexpectedly passed away! I found him in the morning! From the trauma of the heart surgery and bigger trauma of him passing (we were best friends-I developed psychosis its when you literally see people and what ever your mind thinks they’re doing to you! It is so real —it’s super scary and you need therapy help! I can’t stress enough how real it all is. However when I called the cops they came once and said no one was there AND WOULD NEVER COME BACK AGAINThat made it take longer to get over-I felt so alone! Anyway I’m finally better but I still go to therapy and it helps with life! You guys are awesome and I love you podcast Sheri Zylstra (girl Fred(my husband’s nickname for me) Keeeep it weeeeeeird

I attempted to listen to the Bone Breaker episode. After 30 min, I would have preferred to have been captured by the killer himself and had my bones broken slowly over time. The sound of my screams would have to be better than this podcast. For fun, play a drinking game. Every time they say “like” take a sip. You won’t make it 15 min. Good luck.

Love this podcast! Love your banter! This is the first podcast I ever found and fell in love! I also love your banter and I listen to “Scream” and “The rewatcher”. I’ve rated you guys before, but today, I felt compelled to write a review. PLEASE stop dropping in politics. Please stop. I have political podcasts I listen to. Alana, I just heard you today criticizing “the rewatcher” about how the writers were making it too real. But you’re there to be entertained. To escape real life. That’s exactly how I feel about this podcast. I’m here to be entertained. Idc about your politics. I don’t listen to you for that. Also, it’s a little frustrating when you say things a little out of touch. I get you ladies live in a VERY blue state. You have opinions, we all do. But your views are very much of that of white, upper middle class. Completely out of touch with people who actually have to live with the consequences of what you vote for and what you push for. I don’t typically write reviews for podcasts but after this week’s intro I felt it was super important to write one. Thank you for using your platform to speak truth to the situations a lot of people are experiencing right now. People need to say it wrongs and hateful. We all need to stand up for each other. Humans don’t treat humans like this and cheer it on. I’ve been a big fan of your show for the last couple of years and it’s fun to hear all the New England tidbits thrown in and you both are a joy to listen to. I’m a transplant to NE from CA and I love to get ideas of things to do in the area or hear some wild story not too far from me. (I always avoid the bridgewater triangle now) Keep up the good work!

Too many divisive political comments

I’ve listened to your podcast for years and have recommended it often. I’ve let the unsaid comments about politics/ your personal views slide by but they’re more frequent and it’s enough. Sadly Morbid is going to be buried with the ghouls you feature for another time when hopefully yall can move past politics and focus on death and darkness.

I love listening to this podcast! you guys should do an episode on The Central Park 5.

This is hands-down my favorite podcast. I love that Ash and Alaina center the victims and who they were, and absolutely roast the perpetrators. Listening to them banter feels like listening to some of my best friends talking. And, somehow, they manage to bring some levity and humor to this subject. 10/10 Definitely recommend.

Having recently retired I started listening to podcasts while running errands and working around the house. Today I was listening to your story of the missing boy Bobbie. At the beginning of the podcast you reminded listeners of their rights when ICE comes knocking. This brought tears to my eyes as I live within 50 miles of our southern border and have witnessed households of these families torn apart by the raids, not just this year, but for 40 years. Your recognition of this mess of a situation, that may never see a resolution because it’s too good of a political football, made my day. Sending positive vibes to you! Thank you! Also, I love listening to both of you as you remind me of when my grown and flown daughters get together and shoot the breeze. Keep it weird ladies!

I automatically scrub through the first 10 minutes of each episode because I know it’ll just be them talking. If you want good true crime without all the fluff and virtue signaling then go to Bailey Sarian.

The crime stories they tell are good. They do excellent research. I can’t get over the constant know it all preaching on subjects. They are constantly pushing their liberal agenda on topics that have nothing to do with crime. They love to preach about “science“ and vaccines and how they do everything right to stay healthy…and basically people who do not do exactly like they do are morons. Yet, they are sick ALL the time. You can not listen to more than 2 episodes without hearing how sick one of them are. If they would just tell their crime story I would continue to listen. I just can’t take all the other garbage they spew.

Sick of the old times episodes. Plenty of stuff has happened this century.
