I love The Midnight Air! Five stars for soothing me to sleep like a lil baby. Huge fan of DVK and happy he shares his sense of humor and compassion with us. Loving the variety of content across episodes (a deep dive on the history of the American Diner?? Golden!!). Still get a dose of Pen Pals over on Patreon and you should too!

Yes, I miss Pen Pals, but this is a perfect replacement! I can still talk, joke, and shout out loud along with Daniel. Calming, funny, and entertaining!

I listen every morning the day after these come out. Listening just makes me happy no matter what the topic is. It’s even better when Lissa joins in.

Daniel Van Kirk is so lovely. First, such an amazing voice that I’d listen to him read the phone book (boy, am I dating myself!). I’m not a sports person, but it’s always interesting and entertaining when he talks about sports. As well, I have to say that my favorite bit is when he responds to reader mail. His responses are thoughtful, but definitely honest & direct. I love that. P.S. Daniel does fantastic stand up, so if you get a chance, I would recommend that you definitely buy tickets quickly, lest they should sell out. 😊

I hate sports, but I love it when Daniel talks to me about sports.. or literally anything. This podcast feels like falling asleep in the middle of the night on the phone in the nineties.

Discovered this podcast recently. The first episode I listened to was their final public episode and I’m working through the entire series from the beginning, including the Patreon and I love their banter and insight into everything from loss and love to sandwich and cereal heirarchy (I haven’t heard cereal mentioned yet but it’s only a matter of time) Wish you well, Luke

Love these guys and the show. It’s probably just me, but the sound levels are problematic. I’ll be listening and then Daniel’s voice will trail off at end of comments, I’ll increase volume to hear him…then Rory comes in louder and just about makes my ears bleed. Will probably not listen as often because I listen at work and can’t be fiddling around with volume all the time.

I’m super inspired by the way the gents incorporate their good hearts and kindness into their art. Their friendship is inspiring and the ability to monetize their art is RIGHTEOUS. I am so into hearing these lovely men caroming from abjectly silly goofball topics to deeply profound explorations of the human condition to intensely detailed spirals into their desire or disdain for any food or drink that a pen pal mentions. They are sincere, funny, and compassionate. Every episode sparks joy and usually gives me something new to consider. My favorites.

1 part proud aunt 2 parts 12 year-old boys delirious from sleep deprivation during a treehouse sleepover 1/4 part crotchety grandpa who started ranting on politics after his bedtime hot toddy 4 parts compassionate advice 👌👌👌Perfection.

So the other day I was listening to Pete Holmes’ pod and Rory was his guest. Great ep! When I saw this pod while searching for new stuff, I recognized his name and decided to check it out. Y’all… it has been delightful. It’s unapologetically silly and sincere. And the guests have been great. I especially enjoyed Samberg, Chandrasekhar, and Silverman so far. Thanks, Daniel & Rory!

I’m trying to bring more humor into my life and Daniel and Rory (in that order) do just that! Silly podcast with lots of side stories and chit chat but that’s EXACTLY what I want. It’s like hanging out with your buddies. Plus Daniel has a soothing voice. Found this pod from Dumb People Town which he’s on with the Sklar brothers. (Another fun one for the hee hee’s and ha ha’s)

I’m a long time penny, just getting back into this show after a multi year hiatus. I was having a rough day and need to listen to something that would make me smile. Upon pressing play, I quickly remembered why I love Dan and Ror so much. I love their jokes but also their open hearts and hearing these guys go F2F. Hoping to get through the backlog and become a paller soon! Thanks for brightening my day, my old pals.

I love podcasts where the hosts just talk about hilarious nonsense and Pen Pals is my new favorite. Rory and Daniel genuinely care about the issues in the letters that people write and make honest and human connections with their comments/advice. I love their example of non-toxic masculinity.

I still give it five stars even though it’s extremely questionable that Lissa doesn’t like pasta or pizza….

This may be the I single greatest episode of all time. Hope Daniel is feeling better, ham salad rocks.

Rory and Daniel are both hilarious, but they are also truly caring and sweet and really thoughtful about their impact in those who write in. You will laugh, you will cry, you will laugh cry. The boys do such a great job merging humor and genuine conversations. That plus the chemistry of the hosts together makes this the show I look forward to the most every week. Do yourself a favor and start from the beginning and enjoy the ride.

These guys have mastered being sincere while still being absolutely hilarious. Talented comedians who don’t take themselves too seriously when they don’t have to and are so much fun to listen to. I brought some friends to dans stand up show in Houston and it #grewtheshew because my friends wanted more! Will #growtheshow every chance I get.
