김덕수Aotearoa PodThis podcast is so wonderful. Thom does a great job of bringing New Zealand and Pacific Island history to life. From tattoos, to flax, to origin stories, he really does a good job of explaining the history and cultures of the people who live in the country of the long white cloud. Great job sir ~Sandman

HollyokeFun! Fun! Fun!Just discovered this podcast and catching up on the episodes. It took a couple of episodes to get my American ear accustomed to the New Zealand accent, but now I am rolling smoothly and learning a lot about a country I could only previously find on a map. Fascinating history, excellent and engaging narration, good length of episodes, and a rich background to history through myth as well. Definitely worth a history lover's time.

karasmannequinThe Only New Zealand History Podcast Worth Listening ToTom does a great jon at narrating and Presenting an excellent and important story that is often left out of history. He examines the Maori history and even sings (!)). His enthusiasm and knowledge is presented well.

This KenUsing your platform to promote social justice is one thing but think about what you are promotingWhether anyone agrees with your rant or not is irrelevant. Your contempt for anyone who might disagree is dangerous. Such contempt leads to the very problems you oppose. Study history and see what happens one group feels superior and free to demonstrate their contempt for others. “F” off to anyone who disagrees with you is as blatant an expression of contempt as you can find.

Epidemics AotearoaThanks for changing my mind!I've spent an embarrassingly long stretch of my life thinking New Zealand history was boring. Thank you for making me reconsider!

van berenGood fun clean historyThis podcast has entertained me and helped me get a picture of the people and places of NZ. I’ve got tickets to visit both islands 10 weeks from now. I’m a history and biology nerd so your work is appreciated. One suggestion is to slow down, decompress or otherwise make clearer the Mauri names of things because it’s easy to get lost as a foreigner in an audio format when you string together 3-4 mauri words in one sentence. I want to remain in the story you are telling but it’s hard to follow for me without he words written out.

dbryan819Great Podcast! On my trip to New Zealand, I was fascinated by it's culture and history. It's something I'd never experienced learning here in the states. But Thomas makes it easy and fun to learn! I highly reccomend this podcast to anyone! He is an incredible speaker with great pace and story telling abilities.

JerkfaecThe podcast for any real fan of New ZealandAs a self-professed kiwiaboo, this is exactly what I want in my life. This passion project is excellent for anyone who wants to know the history of NZ but can’t keep a book in their hand (guilty!). Kudos to you, host, because your delivery is what keeps me listening despite the brain fog that usually rolls in when “history” is discussed. Between the host’s lively delivery and the mixing in of Māori stories, it’s easy to stay engaged.
