    90% irrelevant stuff
Never get to the meat of it. Just waste time talking on random stuff most of the episode

A must for your personal finance education journey
I’ve been listening to DIY Money podcast for several years now and I’ve found their content to be critical to the success of my personal finance learning journey, debt payoff period, and now wealth-building phase. They don’t teach this stuff in school when you’re growing up. I’m so grateful for this crew of people who decided to teach all of us how to do and approach things the right way when it comes to money and money mindset. I love how accessible they make the different concepts - they demystify and make less scary so many things about finance that I had personally before found intimidating and obscure. I look forward to new episodes coming out each week and learning new things all the time here. Thanks Daniel, Quint, Allie, Logan, and the rest of the team behind the scenes who create these frequent little nuggets of wisdom. You. All. Rock.

Just what I was looking for!
I realized I’m listening to podcasts on happiness and health, but hadn’t started one on money. I wanted to find a non-marketing pitch podcast on investing and everything else and I’m a diy grrl financially, so this rocks! 2025: so inspired by the newest Back to Basics episodes. Love the additions of Logan and Allie (especially, she rocks!)

Can be good if they try
The tone of Welcome back at the beginning of each show annoys me. Half the show is banter and other half has some useful content. Can listen on 3x speed but not worth it with other financial shows that cut to the chase.

    Irrelevant fluff
For a 17-minute episode, it was 6 minutes of talking about Chick-fil-a sandwiches at the beginning. I kid you not. I'd encourage people to listen to older material if it comes up in a search, but I don't see subscribing being valuable.

    Rather good
I am admittedly bias. I grew up with Quint (basketball/select choir). His small town personality translated well to a wider audience. From answering questions of children, to the most complicated fiscal discussion the podcast covers it all. It has personality.

    Distractions
Informative, however, I found myself fast forwarding to content relevant to the title of the episode, as I did not care to hear about non-financial related content. Also, I find the sound bits rather distracting. Personable hosts though.

A simple way to understand finance
Thanks for such a very important content. As I understand, most people know how to earn money but don’t know how to use it properly.

    Great information
Thanks for tackling topics starting with the basics and then delving into the details. Good for all levels.

    Great content

Good basic info but a lot of rambling
Have listened to a few and they just ramble aimlessly the first 3-5 minutes of each episode. Shut up and get to the point or convert to a standup show

    What’s shaking, Daniel?
Short and sweet and to the point with a little bit of fun and personality sprinkled on top.

    Great show
Really knowledgeable podcast with two hosts trying to help others succeed.
  • A Great Man!
    Too/Two Immature Hosts
VERDICT: There are better personal finance podcast options like: “Your Money Your Wealth”, “Choose F.I.”, etc. PROs: Good financial advice. CONs: Way too much rambling about their personal lives and sophomoric “funny” sound effects.

    Great Advice
Thank you for the great advice!! Been listening for a while now.

Ya’ll are great but cut (or limit) the chatter
I really like this show and advice as well as the shortish length. BUT the chitter chatter at the beginning about random personal stuff is annoying. I don’t care. It’s fine to be personal but I’m busy and appreciate brevity. If it were 30 sec or even 1:30, ok. I listen to these while commuting and I always skip the beginning if I have free hands. In a recent episode you both wanted everyone to rate you so you can be number 1. I totally would if I didn’t have to hear about your season tickets to whatever games. That’s not why people are listening. :)

Boosted my financial literacy and confidence!
I never leave reviews, but I felt compelled to write a review, and thank the DYI team for all the pro tips and resources they share every week about personal finance. I’ve learned a ton, and it’s given me confidence to invest in my future.

    Awesome Show
This show is informative and entertaining. I give it 5 stars+. I would like to see the bro talk change from bike riding and running marathons to something pertaining to the economy or trends in the stock market or maybe examples of a recent interaction with a client that we all could learn from. But keep up the informative content!

Love the show! Unimpressed With Allie…
All in all, I love the show. Love the Bro Talk. Love the content. However, I have been quite unimpressed with Allie and feel the show could have done better at finding a CPA to add to the team.

    Great work!
Love the podcast. Great information I look forward to hearing more in the future. Thank you for your work!

    One of my must listens!
Great bite-sized financial education with a variety of topics. Love that the episodes aren’t too long so I can complete it on my commute!

Making financial literacy available for everyone
The podcasts are short and sweet— which is just what I need on my commute. Quint and Daniel have immense knowledge of finance but present the information without making you feel like your years behind or too dumb to grasp it. If you have a friend who needs help with personal finance— send them this podcast.

The short format is great. Enjoy the content.

    Short and simple
This podcast is packed full of knowledge on how to get your finances in order. They get right to the point with their short episodes. Would definitely recommend listening for anyone looking to learn how to manage their finances.
  • Zbass123
    Pretty informative
Fairly informative and helpful. I hate hate hate the small talk and fact that it takes 5 minutes to get to the meat of the question. It’s frustrating to have to skip that portion and find the spot where I actually want to hear. Guys, we don’t want to hear about what’s happening in your personal life - save that stuff for off-air, and skip to the relevant stuff.

    Made finance easy to understand!
I’m a regular guy who has a good paying job, I’m personally very apprehensive about financial people because the only thing I think about is sales and fees. I started listening to you guys during my afternoon walks (not a runner like Quint) it’s been like 2 months now, and you have helped me understand finances so much because you level with the masses, the show has been incredibly helpful to me , so much so that I opened my first investment account last week! Keep up the good work and never stop making it understandable for the people, the majority of us are not sophisticated just regular. Thanks and wish you the best!
  • tyke87
    New listener
I just found the podcast. I appreciate that they point out that there is no one size fits all solution to finances (like some of the gurus do).

    Great listen
DIY money is part of my weekly podcast listen for financial education. Their content is applicable and helpful in our financial freedom journey.
  • NormanSteel
    Great informative podcast
Good people with a ton of information in a open forum format. Episodes are short and spread out but I would listen to them every day. They teach the tried and true investing techniques and finish every episode reiterating “live on less than you make, invest the rest and do this for a very long time“. Worth your time to listen, you will not regret it
  • CamJ075
    Quick rundowns and great topics
Quint and team crush it in the reg. They cover relevant and interesting topics all while keeping it quick and understandable. Recommend for everyone

Informative and digestible personal finance podcast! Thankyou

    Love this show!
I discovered Quint and Daniel a few months back. Love the way Quint says,”What’s shakin’ Daniel?” In that playful voice! It always brings a smile to my face. Logan is a very good addition to the podcast and the impromptu voiceovers keep my attention. I’ll continue listening as long as you two are on the air. As an aside, I saw Quint on a finance show in a major network recently.
  • Seabastardo
Too many sound effects but decent content if you can get through that
Guys. The sound effects are super distracting and annoying! You’re likable enough and the content is good! You don’t need to put all the stupid party noises in. I will continue to listen and didn’t want to give you a super low rating because I think you’re good but I would have gone 5 stars if you didn’t have all those stupid interjections of nonsense. Just a suggestion. Don’t take it to heart because I’m trying to help you and I think you’re both intelligent and likable and don’t need those things. I know you won’t be changing the format on my part for me but I hope you consider it for what it’s worth that my vote would be to lose the edits. Thanks for the content minus the bells and whistles! Mike

    Decent
Good general advice. But a lot of topics are not relevant to those living in areas that are costly to live in. If you’ve never listened to a finance podcast, this is a good starter one. You will get the basics covered.
  • surfghost
    Great show
This is a fun show with great advice. They don’t hit you over the head with their advice which I find refreshing.

Start listening and change your life for the better!
I am very grateful for this excellent podcast! Top notch info and well presented. Listening to these guys is like listening to close family members who really know the business of finance. They aren’t afraid to tell you how it is, but they come at you authentically and straight from their hearts. Do yourself a favor and start binge listening now!

Always looking forward to Clint, Daniel, and sock guy Logan’s take on the day to day financial questions we all have. Keep up the bro and coffee talk

    My favorite podcast by far!
Absolutely love the show and love the bro talk. Quint also has the best haircuts :) jokes aside, I really like the finance topics discussed on the show and I love the different points of views where we have a CFP as well as someone who’s just been in the business their whole life. Really helpful discussions that help me think through my DIY Money journey.

    BEST FINANCE PODCAST
I absolutely love their show!! It is so informative but it’s also short and sweet (which I love.) I’ve taken a lot of their advice and will continue to.

    Great podcast
Great podcast for young professionals in their 20’s just getting started in the real word looking to set up a formal budget, accumulate wealth, invest in markets; and plan for big expenses such as a new car, house, wedding, and more.
