Rickstep19We are all lucky to have this podcastThis podcast has been so impactful. My son is hyper mobile (extremely flexible) and I found the Elite Baseball Development Podcast looking for information on how to help him. He moved really wonky and you could just see how frustrating it was for him to try to control his body in baseball and ever other sport I was getting to the point where I thought maybe sports were just not for him. But Eric brings up hyper mobility pretty often and even has a full podcast devoted to it (episode 117). From the podcast I was better able to understand the physical and mental challenges my son was facing. Just that understanding is so huge and I never would have had that perspective if this podcast didn’t exist Using Eric’s advice I started to get my son to lift just a little bit of weight. And the results have been incredible - off the charts level of improvement for overall athletic movement. And because he can move without as much effort, his situational learning has also improved dramatically. If I had not found this podcast when I did, I would have given up coaching, my son would have given up sports and all the benefits that come along with learning to compete and get better. I am truly grateful to Eric and everyone at csp.

MrSmitherzzTrue food for thought, from a Top notch Coach and Teacher. This podcast along with many other products from Eric have raised the bar on what is possible, and therefore expected from a coach. I find myself listening through episodes multiple times, taking notes, and then sharing the good word (including this podcast) to those who may benefit. If a baseball/softball athlete or coach is not listening, they are missing out on a free degree in the development of their sport. -Brian Davies

jwbbsloJerry Weinstein Professional Baseball CoachThought provoking interview. Thoughts/Questions 1. Why not healthy throwers in that data base? 2. How far away are we from artificial ligaments/tendons? 3. Is there value in ligament enhancement to avoid this njury? 4. Replace ligament before injuries? Like tires that have wear on them. JW

eharris97Incredible person, incredible showI have had the chance to spend some time with Eric in the past, and I can tell you that he is the same type of guy in real life as he is on the podcast. His knowledge and willingness to share with others comes through in this show, and it is a great insight on what it means to care about your profession. It is a great podcast to listen to, regardless of the type of athlete you work with or what your own interests are. Highly recommend it!

Jason SmithwickStop the Insanity - #126My youngest son, age 13, and I rarely agree on music in the car, so we ‘settle’ on listening to various baseball podcasts as we travel to and from his games. While we have heard some good ones from various people, the one I have found the most relevant to date from where we are at as a family is episode 126 from Elite Baseball Development w/ Eric Cressey and Walter Beede. My wife and I are blessed with 4 kids….2 boys and 2 girls…ages 23, 21, 14 and 13 and we are constantly learning and trying to instill lessons learned from our older 2 and apply to the younger 2. Sometimes we succeed and sometimes we fail. Our oldest boy played college baseball at Franklin Pierce (thanks to Coach King) and I can tell you, the landscape from when he played to what our 13yr old is going thru is as different as night and day. The trap to specialize…year around or else be left behind…..the money….playing travel games on Friday at 5pm which require skipping school, flying to ‘World Series’, etc…..we are guilty as charged in allowing to prosper. So when we started the episode and Walter eviscerated travel baseball, I felt guilty as charged and propelled to course correct. - “competition heavy, practice light” - “nothing matters prior to age 14” (I would argue 1st communion…LOL) - “travel biz model is not dev model” - 10-15K spots for 100K high school seniors - the need for ‘home, school, and 3rd place….sanctuary….” - “see it, feel it, touch it” - “be an athlete” We can also provide a first hand endorsement for the quality, the experience and expertise at Cressey’s facility in FL. Our youngest was able to spend time there last year and having him ‘see his future’ was a tremendous opportunity and one that we will continue to invest in. Pls do not under-estimate the power of your podcasts and the impact you are making. Speaking for one family….Thank You!! See you in soon! Jason (and Arthur)

BgreningAverage JoeLoving the podcast. Haven’t missed one yet. Also been a big fan for a long time. Have you ever thought about interviewing a middle of the pack A+ to AA guy to get a perspective on what they’re going through and how they can get to the elite level? Both good and bad sides. Only because it’s probably the most common situation in baseball.
-

Pitch4lifeCurveball Development Podcast...Shoot the gun to the ground?? Eric please save your reputation with ignorant coaches telling kids this to throw a curveball using this analogy....I think people can explain it differently!..this is traditional wisdom hanging around with little information for anyone to use.
