I get up every morning, get a bowl of cereal, and listen to Apple News Today. It’s an enjoyable way to ease myself into the day on my schedule without turning on the TV. When Shumita was out on maternity leave, I was super happy for her, but did miss her voice. We made do, but I was glad when she was back. Love, love, LOVE Apple News Today.

I love how they present a variety of information, and pull in experts to further explain important details. The show also does a great job of reducing catastrophizing (as much as possible right now) but explaining what these scary breaking news stories really mean for us. It is unbiased (again, as much as possible in this current environment). I love Shumita’s voice as well!

I love the concept. Listen every morning on my drive to work. But it's getting SOOO old. All I hear is Trump bashing. Certainly there are other things happening in the world other than Trump Trump Trump. Please provide some news other than what you don't like about the man. Can't believe I still pay for this. And I'm a Democrat and didn't vote for Trump!!!

Ever since its’ inception, I have listened to Apple News Today every week day. It focuses on getting you the most information without any biased commentary. If you have 15 mins, I would give it a shot.

If you only have a few minutes to listen to the morning news then this is for you. I listed to it while making my morning coffee before leaving for work. Short and to the point! We all need this on busy morning.

I usually listen to the podcast on my way home from my shift in the airport, i do enjoy the selection of daily news but seems they focus on all the negative aspects of the current presidency and almost no “good” in general news are talked about. I like Apple News today but be more neutral not only left side of the spectrum. I do appreciate the calm voice of the narration and the music, wish there would be pre recorded episodes for Saturday/Sunday tho 🫥

It’s an incredible subsection of news and interesting stories found in Apple News+ articles. Some reviews say it’s too left leaning, but that’s what typically happens with fact-based reporting. Worth noting that Apple News Today is only collating reporting from various Apple News sources. That being said, if you’re a subscriber, this podcast is a no brainer for finding articles to read within the app.

What’s with the spin?

Seen several reviews saying it’s a left-leaning biased show, but it’s hard to not mention Trump and his administration’s buffoonery when it creeps into every single aspect of daily life for people all throughout the world, be it economically, socially, or otherwise. Occasional expert interviews and factual reporting make it a daily listen to me.

Informative and succinct, well produced, and a very well-spoken host. It focuses on getting as much information as possible into a 15 minute episode without any biased commentary or quips. Though some would disagree, the reporting is fairly balanced, though facts and accuracy do tend to slip leftwards a bit.

I start every weekday morning by listening to the Apple News Podcast. I love to hear the latest headlines paired with other topics that can start good conversations. I know some reviews will say Apple News is politically “left” but if you enjoy getting news from both sides of the political spectrum, this podcast does a great job at reporting.

Just look at the news outlets being relied on here, you’ll get a hint that this is not a balanced show, and definitely not a news channel.

This is a great news show. I appreciate how succinct it is. While it does have a lot of politics, it also has a few other hot stories mixed in to keep it interesting, which I think is important. I think it’s balanced, and it covers topics that should be interesting to a wide range of audiences. The host has a great voice. Keep up the good work!

I have been listening to this show daily on the Apple News App for a while. It’s the only time I use the otherwise confusing app. After Trump’s second term, not a day goes by where they don’t mention him. I wish their coverage of the presidency was A-Political. As others note, it’s left leaning. I just want to get my daily news from an unbias source. I love the chime in the intro and Shumita’s calm voice.

What I really like about this sort of news tidbit podcast is the host doesn’t discuss the news in a patronizing or condescending sort of way but really does try to include you as a partner in the ongoing and often evolving news cycle. It’s very warming, especially when listening while in traffic or doing chores around the house. She definitely strikes that “tone” of commonality very well, reminiscent of Rachel Maddow. Subscribed.

Every episode supports the democrats and nothing towards the conservatives and republicans. That would be fine if you are a democratic focused podcast but guess what? You’re called Apple news today not democratic news today. Try being less prejudiced and do your job. I am unsubscribing until this podcast comes back to what it used to be, not politically biased, pro-American and not left-propaganda funded

Very one sided news. A lot of facts are left out and buzz words are used to sway the listeners opinion. It should be an opinion column.

I used to work in broadcasting , the fact is that news analysis is what people need. US is very much in a bad shape, mentally. Analysis just comes out as bad as it is. Suggest the team to present more of the good stuff globally. Need some uplifting of humanity for a change. Thanks!

No longer news. My go to for news every weekday morning on my drive to work for years. But this show has turned political all geared to the left. Very negative, one sided and pushes violence not objective news. Why not give both sides of the story and generate common ground and positivity. May need to move on.

If I understood this podcast correctly near end, that there seems to be a final deadline of request to help facilitate the wrongly deported accused gang member’s release and or return to America, or would be seen as an intent to deny the judge orders. Trump dominates the headlines, some of it is negative. Anyone complaining about this is just annoyed at the state of now. I don’t remember to listen everyday, but am always glad I did when I do.

I used to love this podcast very informative, i listened to it religiously every morning. Now since this recent election she bashes Trump everyday, which is okay but she never shares the good the man does. She makes it blatantly obvious She’s against Trump. Never was she this hard on our last president sadly I will have to look somewhere else for my daily news.

This used to be my daily listen on my way to work but since Trump took office this show has become nothing but bashing of his office. I don’t consider my self afflicted with any party but enough is enough. One sided news does nothing to benefit its listeners or Apple News. Cancelling my Apple News subscription.

As much as I enjoy Apple News Today, it has continuously become more apparent that they are no longer really trying to remain neutral. Almost every daily podcast invites a left wing guest to speak on current events with a bias that is heavily left wing. Questions framed to be “truth seeking” are just soft-pitches over home plate for experts to drill into left field. I am a true “centrist” in the spectrum of left/right politics and being completely neutral to opinions and listening to opinions with an open mind makes it very easy to point out that almost every if not EVERY political discussion leans heavily towards radical left wing echo-chamber discussions. It’s a shame that Apple News is incapable of presenting facts in a neutral context.

Evidence-based, meditative information about current events that matter most. Keep it up! I listen every morning.

I have no words just the best

I’ve listened to this show every morning for over 3 years, and loved it. The direction the show was changing during the election, it was very liberal and started being persuasive. Now when I listen, not only the guests but the HOST blames everything on the current sitting president. No matter if you are democrat or republican this show should not lean one way or the other. It’s called “News”. I’ve been very turned off by this.

I genuinely want to enjoy this show, hoping for a concise 10-15 minute news overview to complement the hour-long, in-depth podcasts I also follow. However, since Trump’s reelection as president, the show has become increasingly unbearable. Below is my review, shared in the hope that improvements will restore its appeal and bring me back as a listener. Positives: • High Production Quality: The podcast boasts excellent sound editing, delivering a polished and professional listening experience. Negatives: • Overly Political Focus: The content is heavily centered on politics, often viewed through a left-leaning, “woke” lens, which limits its perspective. • Biased Source Material: The podcast appears to rely on anti-Trump legacy media, leading to a “garbage in, garbage out” effect, with increasingly left-wing narratives over time. • Specific Example: In a recent episode, the use of “pregnant people” instead of “pregnant women” and an interview with an activist who mischaracterized Trump’s actions as an attempt to “overthrow the government” highlight a narrow ideological slant. • Limited Audience Appeal: The current approach alienates listeners beyond a niche demographic, such as unmarried women. Really enjoy listening to the host, though I do miss the banter when there were two. Seems to carry a main bias towards liberals and would be nice for a more unbiased approach. Maybe having more conservative guests speaking on a topic.
