BLew321I like this format but…As a dad this content is great. I also love the mini length episodes focused on one lesson. The downside with the short length is Ryan has the intro outro and ad roll all packed into the 4 minutes. That makes it essentially impossible to binge multiple episodes without listening to those over and over. You also can’t skip them because the actual content is so short. I realize Ryan’s not running a non-profit here, but it’d be nice if he considered the listener experience a bit more. To really make the super short style work, it’d be great if he could go the Naval way and just do content only, no music no intro outro or ads. Fans will still follow, check out links in description, turn into customers, or whatever the funnel is supposed to be here.

nel_bro_Practical and realThis isn’t fluffy advice. It’s real and useful and recognizes the vulnerability we all have (or should have) about being a parent. Insert this into your daily routine

BcksnIt’s never too late!I am 42 year old father of a 10 and 15 year old, one boy and one girl respectively. Even after being a parent for years your first child will always bring first experiences. This podcast has made reflect on the good and bad things I have done as a parent. Therefore it reminds of what not to do with my son and how to be a better parent to my teenager. It’s never too late to be a better parent while you still have life in you. Thank you Ryan for these messages!

Surfer 0Short Episodes Not Playable / DownloadableMost of the shorter episodes are giving a pop-up message that the episodes are not playable or downloadable (even with automatic downloads setting on). Setting this review to get attention to the problem- will delete once problem is solved. Great podcast otherwise.

mottonelMy daily listening routine after kids drop offGreat show that I love listening to first thing after dropping kids off at school in the morning. When it has been a great morning, Daily Dad helps you appreciate it, when it was a tough morning it put things in perspective and help you relax and be grateful for what you have. All while learning always new great information. Thanks Ryan for doing this!

Henny3000Love the showI love this podcast. As a parent of two young kids (8 and 7) Ryan's bite sized lessons are a great way to step back and reframe parenting so I can do the most important job in my life. Thank you!
-
mgangiDaily Dad PodcastI listen to this every morning with coffee before the rest of my family wakes up. Listening keeps me from staring at my phone as I watch the sunrise. This supplanted a habit of reading mind numbing news headlines and stories. Sometimes I write in my journal after or just sit in silence and contemplate the lesson. It means a lot to me and has helped me grow as a father.

AliBABA300Wonderful And InsightfulRyan speaks insightfully to his readers, giving thought provoking strategies and wisdom in a World were a lot of the “Parents Raising Kids” are “Kids Raising Parents.” This podcast has helped me grow and mature while still learning to be as playful as a child! Gratitude my friend!

jflobotNever DisappointingRyan makes a difference. His art reveals a complex but compassionate and caring voice. That voice is evident in his podcasts and books. We’re all fortunate he’s used his talents the way he has. Listening to this and his other forms of media will not disappoint. He may push you a bit but this is likely needed if you’re listening to these kinds of podcasts. But no one is perfect. Thank you Ryan 🙏🏽❤️

Rusconi17Short & SweetLove this podcast, its teachings, and its purpose. Truly amazing stuff that Ryan posts on here daily. Beautiful reminders to be better parents for our kids and show patience. Also helps us reflect on different things we went thru in our younger years and how we can adjust ourselves going forward P.S. He's been plugging Kiwi.co lately and it's truly a great service. They send amazing little boxes that kids lose their mind over(in a great way). Awesome stuff

MMLC mommaCricket on my shoulder. No. Voice in my headI just had a dream job opportunity and couldn’t wait to say yes. I knew it would be hard to move my family, particularly my oldest son. On the long drive home, my enthusiasm was tempered with the recurring opening intro to this podcast, “…helping you with your most important job, being a parent.” “Your most important job.” “Your most important job.” It was terribly disappointing to pass on the position, but I knew that accepting this offer would not allow for me to have the time to support my children during their most difficult upheaval in their lives. I highly recommend this podcast because of the daily accountability and thankful for the bonus voices in my head. Chris

Bare FamilyGood fatherhood points, politically preachyTopic is well addressed but often adds in his political views and elevates his own views as clearly the best

csengesExcellent podcast! A dad must!Ryan goes into short thoughts from ancient philosophers and apply it to modern time. Very short but straight to the point.
-
MSUSpyderGreat daily remindersIf you need just a little poke in the right direction… a little whisper in your ear of something that reminds you to take a deep breath when your family is getting on your last nerve…. If you need someone who is just like that friend who knows just what to say at the right time… In 2-4 minute increments… Ryan’s Podcast does that. Highly recommend.

dbrme123Excellent Wisdom, Ad-HeavyThese pearls of wisdom start my day on the right foot, reminding me of how to succeed at my most important job. Thanks to Ryan Holiday for providing them! Many refer either to Stoic principles or to the wisdom of great modern-day thinkers. I agree w/others that the ads comprise a very large percentage of the content, though I accept that as the cost of receiving a valuable, short, free podcast.
-
RockandorRollDaily AD PodcastShould just be called the daily ad. It would be nice If it wasn’t for all the Democrat Party cheerleading. It’s a little off-putting and distracting.
-
JD SchrammWhat a gift for dads! What a delight to learn of Ryan and his remarkable daily newsletter and podcast. Parenting is hard enough…getting a daily boost of wisdom and encouragement is a gift. They are short enough to grab one as I walk home from drop-off or wait for my latte. Thank you Ryan!
-
Ludka26Thank YouThis podcast is the very first thing I listen to when I get in my truck for work every single morning! I am always so grateful for the stories and lessons and how relevant they are to my life with my son. Ryan, you’re doing great work. Keep it up.
-
dhdbvwvevThe ads!Do your self a favor and skip the first 5 minutes of every episode

BoesefisDisappointedFor a while I have enjoyed Ryan’s messages. They have been invaluable at times. I am actually saddened to unfollow his podcast. Currently, Ryan is a supporter of drag story time for kids at a bookstore local to him. As a father of two children, I am a big supporter of letting kids be kids. Let them remain innocent. Do not put this stuff in their head. I am not anti-gay, I am not transphobic or any other thing you may call me. I know Ryan’s heart is in the right place when you listen to him but this just simply does not align with my morals and I simply cannot get on board. Maybe one day I can return.

Billyh3866678Amazing content, overwhelming ads.I love everything Ryan holiday does, and I encourage ads/promos to be able to support creators such as Ryan. But on such a short podcast format, I don’t think there should be ads how they are in this podcast. Even though it seems to be every other podcast, it’s just too much. When one does show up it feels like 50% ad. I actually won’t keep this in my rotation because of how cumbersome it is with ads.
-
jn29098Ad to content ratio too highA 4 1/2 minute podcast episode with a one minute ad is not OK. I love Ryan’s other podcasts, but I don’t think I’ll subject myself to this anymore.
-
D-FryThe ads have become excessiveI’ve been listening regularly for close to a year and a half. I love the content, but the ads have become excessive. Case in point, in the most recent episode, an ad was awkwardly edited into the middle of this day’s meditation, and the ad itself was almost as long, if not longer, than the actual content. I understand you have to pay the bills and keep the proverbial lights on, but more mindful editing would be appreciated.
-
J/-\y BirdAmazing but…I think the topics of the short lessons are perfect. And to be motivated enough to post one a day is just amazing. My only complain is in the 3-4 minute podcast 1-2 minutes is adds/promotions/things not related to the podcast. I know adds help pay for the channel but find a better approach. Maybe do the lesson first and all other fluff at the end. Just my two cents.
-
SbyrnesxxxAds all dayReally like the premise of the show and the message, along with the fact they’re nice and short but the entire episode feels like an advertisement. 5 min episodes with 4:30 of ads.

labriute613The Daily GroomerRyan we get it - you crave the acceptance of the left and must burnish your woke bona fides often. You can’t atone for living in Texas by hoping to appease the woke mob with pablum and preening performance catering to for men dressed as women who demand kids to question everything, including basic biology. There’s no pandemic of violence against trans people in Austin. Get over yourself - how many genders are there? What is a woman ? Answer those in front of the groomers and have real courage to stand up for the innocence of children.
-
Chaim K.Who are the really bulliesForcing innocent kindergarten kids not just to accept, but rather to celebrate, the sexual predilections of adults is a sign of society in decline. That’s what the word groomer means. It isn’t a slur and does not mean creating pedophiles or any other MSNBC talking point. The LGBTQIAPLUS community has tremendous power over free speech and thought in technology and government around the world and especially in Austin TX Ryan. If you want to see who’s the real bully, invite Jordan Peterson or Ben Shapiro story. You’ll need armed security Don’t conflate this is as heroic as the civil rights movement.

Ja_mesDSNow part of my morning routineThese short, daily messages help me frame the day. No better way to start than on a positive note: focusing on the most important thing, my kids. Thanks, Ryan.
-
new moralitySlow downThis is exactly what I needed. I’ve started to listen to this podcast starting with the very first episode and letting it play through and it’s been eye opening for me. It’s helped me refocus on the bigger picture and not just what’s directly in front of me.

Nathan 173Had to unfollowWay way way way way too many ads.

@gjvgiddyupSincere ThanksRyan, I want you to know that you and your message(s) have become a valued part of my daily morning routine. Thank you for being a part of my pursuit in becoming a better person and a better Dad.

JoelrttujjkihbhDad’s Listen NowDaily dad is a perfect way to start your day to make sure that you’re doing everything that you need to be doing good be a great dad thanks Ryan

Adele125Setting prioritiesHearing Ryan place parenting and marriage on the same plane as work was so refreshing since I’ve been making trade offs in one of these spheres often. But this episode crystallized my thoughts on doing justice to all three roles and not feeling bad about any losses you may have at work- Being a parent is the most important job- fully agree with Ryan. Getting your kids through their lows and helping them be resilient is more rewarding than partaking in their successes. Thank you Ryan. Must hear especially for Moms who have perennial guilt balancing it all.

Fullerton5More ads than content70% ads, 30% content.
-
johnwilcoxWhy?2 minutes of opening and an ad read then 30 seconds of some bland information leading into 30 second of asking to subscribe and share.
-
Erikmyers4Quality, practical adviceMy wife and I started listening/reading these when we were pregnant and still do so to this day. Thank you so much for such great advice Ryan!

Tom CravenFrustrating but invaluableI don’t always agree with Ryan’s perspective or statements. He was infuriatingly wrong about “Bean Dad.” He is too online. He may be more hat than cattle. And the ads are obnoxious. BUT — The Daily Dad is an invaluable part of my listening life. Sometimes it is exactly the perspective I need at that time. Sometimes it’s something I’ll recall in the future, or something that inspires further reading. Sometimes it’s not, but it only costs me 2 minutes. The podcast is a lot like parenthood in that way — you can hit or miss on the content, but what really matters is being there. And this podcast is always here for me.

CurlyQ 2024Used to be a good podcastThis used to be a good podcast with good advice. The past couple of shows seem to have jumped on the woke political bandwagon. No one cares about your opinion on the vaccine for kids. This little show isn’t going to convince people one way or another. Also the slight jab at Trump from a couple weeks ago. Keep the advice to how to be a good father, which are desperately needed in todays world, and keep the politics out of it.
-
hoyas2020Valuable PerspectiveThe Daily Dad is part of my morning routine, and it helps me focus on what’s most important as a father. It’s thought-provoking and of perfect duration (~2min).
-
bomtailWokeHas some good messages for parenting but Ryan clearly can’t separate his political views from his parenting advice. Not for me.
-
Hammys5Lost listenerI started with Stoicism after receiving the Daily Stoic book, which I really appreciated. I transitioned to The Daily Stoic podcast and found it interesting but I noticed in the longer episodes and especially during interviews you say “like” more than an educated adult should. I tried on the Daily Dad podcast which again was great for the brief episodes of 2 to 3 min but when you (Ryan) have a longer episode and again while interviewing someone you say “like” so frequently I feel like(properly used) I’m listening to my teenager. I’m sorry but I can’t stand educated adults, especially ones that host podcasts, using “like” as a filler. It makes you sound like a teenager and it is distracting and Ryan, you do it a LOT! Listen to yourself sometime and then take your own advice and make a change. For now, I’m out.
-
Zjd88Excellent Podcast!I love to listen to this is the morning to set an intention for the day.
-
hmshectorGreat podcast!Listen to this every morning. Helps me be a better dad, one day, one step at a time.
-
MattDavey82This is my new daily routineI love plugging my phone into my car and just letting this guide me to work. The insight, thought, and challenges discussed in those few minutes help me to focus on the thing that is most important. Being the dad my kid deserves and someone my wife is proud of. My brother shared this with me when we learned we were pregnant, and I have shared it with friends as they ask advise on parenting. Thank you for all you do!
-
IncredhulkGreat perspectivesThis podcast offers a great perspective to raising kids. I suggest it to all my followers to help them gain insight to raising their kids.

NYC is homeGood stuffIn a world of rambling, overly long and self-indulgent podcasts (some of which are, admittedly, quite fun and interesting), this one is a breath of fresh air. It’s to the point, friendly and supportive, and a healthy daily reminder of how to do the job of Dad.
