Six Seasons & a Podcast

TV Reviews #201

It's been 10 years since the debut of this amazing show. I wanted to talk to the people behind the scenes to uncover who wrote what and what it was like bringing to life our favorite comedy.

We'll talk about the best jokes, the best moments, and everything we've learned from 6 years at our favorite community college, Greendale.

Great interviews and love for the show
Alex has a great habit of working through the important bits, and he keeps getting better as an interviewer. Want to hear from people who made the show? In the show? This is the Community Podcast for you. Directors, actors, and even people who work behind the scenes. This is the deep water. Dive in.

    Guests! Guests! Guests!
Great podcast! This interview style podcast gives celebrity guests center stage, allowing for the in-depth telling of their life/career stories, which often include several interesting bits in and around the making of Community.

Where are episodes 1 and 2?
Sorry to put this in a review, but I can’t find any way to ask you directly. Where are the first two episodes? I can’t start listening to a show three episodes in. I read your reddit post where you wrote about your first few shows being bad, but that’s no reason to scrub them. I’m giving this five stars in good faith that you’ll make the first two episodes available soon, so I can start listening. Thank you.

Host is clearly as big a fan as the rest of us
The host was new to podcasting and his skills improved quite quickly. The questions are the kind of stuff I’d be asking if I had the opportunity to talk to the guests he has on, and the answers are often way more candid than I’d expect. Good cast.

    Quality Guests
The guests that this podcast gets are top notch and the stories they tell are fun and entertaining, though it’s becoming more and more apparent that this man is not an interviewer. In fact, I was mostly prompted not to give this a four star review or higher because of the host’s tendency to stray off-topic until he inevitably lands on the subject of his grandfather. That being said, I’ve listened to a handful of episodes and perhaps the more recent ones are better in this regard. All in all, I love the guests he gets — the actors and especially the writers are always interesting to hear from, though sometimes he also has people who are just fans on — and it’s a great companion to the Darkest Timeline Podcast on my dozenth or so rewatch of the show.

    Wonderful insight
As a huge community fan this show hits the extra itch I have for more and more community knowledge. Once this podcast got its groove it’s been smooth sailing. I love the idea of talking to a lot of the show writers and diving beyond just the cast members. Really well done! Keep it up

Just finished episode five with the writer from season one and two. Fantastic format, great questions, and a wonderful deep dive into the series and writing process. Looking forward to more episodes!
