Helping to elevate care of our patients
Veterinary Anesthesia Nerds is an outstanding podcast that brings clarity, practical knowledge, and a sense of community to veterinary professionals navigating the complexities of anesthesia and pain management. One of the standout aspects of this podcast is its ease of understanding. Even though anesthesia can be an intricate and highly technical topic, the hosts and guests break it down in a way that is both accessible and engaging. They strike a perfect balance between depth and clarity, making it valuable for everyone—from veterinary technicians to seasoned clinicians. In terms of utility, this podcast is a must-listen for anyone involved in veterinary anesthesia. The discussions provide real-world applications, case-based insights, and up-to-date information on best practices. Whether it’s optimizing pain control, improving monitoring techniques, or troubleshooting anesthesia challenges, the content is highly relevant and immediately applicable in clinical settings. Beyond the technical knowledge, what truly sets Veterinary Anesthesia Nerds apart is its supportive nature. The hosts create a welcoming space where listeners feel encouraged and empowered, not judged. They acknowledge the challenges of veterinary medicine and emphasize continuous learning, collaboration, and professional growth. This sense of support makes it more than just an educational podcast—it feels like a conversation among colleagues who genuinely care about improving patient outcomes and supporting one another Highly recommended!

    Miss You!!
Thank you for the latest episode!! I've been out of vet med for about 2 years (for the reasons Morgan cited) but I do still have my credential and am teetering on coming back in, especially to help Helene rescues. Your work means a lot and even though I'm largely disenchanted, you are a beacon of hope to get back. I know I'm very good at what I do, my skills and knowledge are solid. I just wish colleagues were as supportive as you are. Not having a supportive family is hard enough, I wish for the culture in vet med to understand adverse situations like mine (it's very complicated) and uplift instead of denigrate those of us who claw and crawl their way around the relentless, needless, bullying. signed, I want to love vet med again.
  • Your friendly neighborhood vet
    Antisemitism in your leadership
I used to love your podcast. Unfortunately I cannot support a podcast that has an unapologetic antisemite within their leadership. I hope Steven apologizes for what he did. It was so disappointing to see such antisemitism from him. I do not believe VAN should receive support from our community until he apologizes.

    Just started and new
I really wanted to say that I love your podcast!!! I’ve only been in the field for a year but from the beginning my practice manager has had me so interested in Anastasia and while I don’t do a lot in surgery yet I am constantly looking to learn and I constantly like to observe surgeries when I am able, and so glad I found your podcast. Such great information from what sounds like some great people in the field. Has me interested in getting special education in it. I want to go into wildlife and zoo animal and doing surgeries.

    Love the podcast!
I’m a veterinary student currently on my anesthesia rotation. This podcast has been a fun way to absorb more educational content. I loved the c-section episode and the induction agents episodes especially. I would love a pediatric anesthesia episode in the future!
