Hey Prop, always a huge fan of the show and always appreciate what you’re doing. I think you have Danes and the Dutch confused though in your episode. Denmark and its people are Danish, the Dutch people are from the Netherlands. Two different countries and people. Danish were Vikings historically alongside the other Nordic countries. The Dutch Republic (the Netherlands) formed out out the various wars and religious conflicts between France, Spain, Britain and the Holy Roman Empire, and became a trading empire later once they became independent. The reason Greenland is a part of Denmark has to do historically with Norse settlement coming from Europe through Iceland. Anyways, keep up the good work!!!

Prop is so real. His intellect and passion can be heard in his strong voice; this man loves his city and his country even when it’s hard to do so. He gives it to you FR. None of that white middle class sugar coating. Quiet refreshing for this boricua living in east TN

Decent show when he sticks to the topic but spends way too much time stanning Kendrick and topics are usually months old.

I just finished listening to the Make Coffee Black Again episode. I will admit, I had some concerns about highlighting these interviews with various folks out doing things in the world that are trying to be the positive change they want to see. I have enjoyed the interviews with these folks greatly. Thank you for enlightening me to these folks that are doing good out there.

White lady in Wisconsin here. This is where I get all my political analysis. Prop puts things in a way that makes sense and looks at the big picture.

I’ve been listening since Hood Politics started & as a guy in my mid-20’s, I get something from every episode. Between the serious material Prop poses is great humor & vulnerability. Rather than sanitizing his world view, Prop effectively uses his experiences by just being himself to bring politics as a home-grown idea- not polished & pretty, which is why I’ve stuck around. I feel like this podcast is more of a conversation, not like I’m being talked at or told what to do. I may not be the target audience, but my experiences tend to rhyme & hit close to home… Prop gives run-downs of politics & translates it into something palpable that anyone, regardless of personal background, can understand… & if we can understand it, we have the power to (hopefully) change it. Worth noting, but the host never claims to know what’s right/correct, what to do or how to do it. Mad respect for Prop & all the work he puts out there!!

I love this pod. I’m glad it became it’s own thing apart from the Red Couch joint. It’s really insightful, makes politics make sense on a ground level, and pulls the curtain back on what’s happening. I would have never made the connection between gang banging and politics, but they may as well be the exact same thing in different contexts. My only concern is the increasing amount of profanity prop has been using lately. Yea, I know that’s how the hood talks, and to give the discussion the “real” and “authentic” feel there’s some cussin’, but it feels like it’s going overboard to some degree. A little gratuitous, especially that many people who come across this will be from props music, in which he talks real about his faith, his experiences, etc...but people may be shocked by the amount of language. Not judging the brotha, just something to be aware of. I look forward to every time a new episode drops and will continue to tune in. Super creative and helpful. Thanks homie.

I tried this podcast when it first came out, having heard Prop on other podcasts and appreciating his take. It was meh and I thought it would fizzle. I was so wrong. Prop was just newbie and took some time to fine tune the format and feel the confidence. I gave it another try and am glad I did. Prop makes it feel like a chat with a friend who is smarter than me. He breaks things down in ways that make sense and feels personal. I am a middle aged white cis hetero mom who grow up on farm. I relate to Prop because he is real person who advocates treating people like people. He doesn’t Other anyone, even hicks like me.

There is a lot of good info, but Prop just comes off as a youth pastor that talks too much about his “misspent” youth.

I always love Propaganda’s amazing commentary. The illustrious blend of hood talk and well thought out political talk is just a treasure! But this latest pod (S3 ep23) was so good! I hurt myself laughing along with Prop and at one point he just screams in laughter! I was threw! By far one of my favorites just because of the scream alone! Great work Brodie!!!

Feels like listening to the guy in your political theory seminar who doesn’t quite know what’s going on but loves the sound of his own voice

You get the feeling, listening to Prop, that he was born to explain the way the world is really working to the rest of us. Even though I’m a white boy from the woods of western Massachusetts, the way he breaks down current events by comparing them to inner city dynamics makes things clear to me in a way that no talking head from NPR ever did. My hat is off to you, Prop, and I am grateful for all that you do to make the madness and mayhem of this world a little more transparent and comprehensible.

Thanks to Prop’s breakdown of contemporary (and past) events, it’s easier for folks like me to understand exactly what’s happening and a better understanding as to the why of it. Great guests and discussions abound!

Just found this and have started listening. The host is super interesting, really intelligent, super insightful. The only feedback is the number of times the host says “You know what I’m sayin’?” Hope he is able to develop his hosting abilities, not having to rely on this catchphrase. He has so much to say, hate this tic to take away from his message more people should hear.

Coming from the ‘hood I love to hear the explanations of how politics and politicians work. Today though I heard Prop shout out Art Leboe. I miss Art and loved the shout out! Love the show and how you break it down. Being a guero and hearing it from another perspective is awesome!

Hey - long time listener, first time reviewer. Thank you for taking the time to put out this show and speaking your truth from the heart. I’ve learned both about city living as well as political reality through the expertly filtered lived experience of host Prop. It’s nuts to learn that humans are humans no matter what level they operate on. Neighborhoods or countries. It’s all the same. As is the tagline - these people are not smarter than you. To paraphrase: they just wear fancier suits. *Well* worth your time. Can not recommend enough.

This dude will go off on what feels like a tangent and seamlessly pull away the tablecloth to reveal he’s been speaking in metaphor the whole time and everything in that digression illustrates the larger point. He’ll start zooming out and showing the common structures and hierarchies interpersonal beefs have with global geopolitics: aha, now I get it! The MF is brilliant.

I gobble up news and politics shows daily for 4 to 8 hours a day. I found this show a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. I typically know exactly what he’s talking about, but I deeply appreciate the angle he takes. I don’t pay attention to Podcast awards, but this is award quality stuff.

I heard about this pod from an ad on another politics pod. I’m pretty well informed on politics, and I have no idea what you’re talking about when u explain what I already know. I have to reverse translate the hood talk. But once I do, I get it so much more in depth. I’m going to have my daughter listen. She’s 10 but she’ll get politics better listening here. Great idea for interesting and entertaining pod. Ty

The podcast I didn’t know I was looking for! I heard an ad about “Hood Politics by Prop” on Danielle Moodie’s podcast and immediately visited after my daily WAF episode! I don’t know who Propaganda is but, he is my new favorite podcast voice! I am really nervous going into this election year and I find it so refreshing more of our voices are being added to the information pipeline.

The idea behind this podcast is great and the execution is flawless. Prop is a great rapper but he found his lane with this.

I grew up hood adjacent and what I love about this podcast is the respect to make things plain. It’s in no ways simple, but broken down in a digestible way to teach us how to think NOT what to think. Much love!
