Parenting For The Present

35

Do you have this whole parenting thing figured out? Are you the perfect parent? Neither are they. Drs. Early Denison, Matthew Housson and Andy Stoker are three dads but, together, have nearly sixty years of experience cultivating the minds, bodies, and spirits of children, parents, and families through their work as a pediatrician, a clinical psychologist, and a minister. Their goal is to help you raise kids who can thrive in this complex, messy, beautiful world.Rates of anxiety and depression, especially in our kids, are up. Early, Matthew, and Andy believe that challenging this trend starts at home with parents, caregivers, and families. They will share their conversations and connect with other experts in their fields to help you engage your kids, enhance your parenting strategies, and have fun with your family. They don’t have all the answers, but they know that we are stronger if we all work together to become more proactive and engaged parents and families.

    Sound, compassionate advice.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this podcast and appreciate the multi-disciplined approach to providing compassionate, loving guidance (not necessarily direction) to raising my sons. Helping me remember to see and love them just as they are, with gentle parental bumpers reinforcing the foundation they have at home is a great approach to parenting today.

    Great Information for All Parents!
LOVE this podcast!!! Not only is Parenting for the Present genius in theory (to address children's needs from a body/mind/spirit perspective), but it really delivers as well! I’ve listened to many podcasts that focus on one area, but to have the entire child covered in one podcast is truly helpful. I’ve really enjoyed the expert guests each week as well as the different perspectives offered by the hosts (a pediatrician, a pastor and a psychologist). Keep up the good work, guys!

Great stuff, even for older kids
It is far too easy to find content for kids up until about 10 years old and then we are expected to be experts. I love that this podcast touches on all age groups with meaningful content. Thanks !

    Family Growth Podcast
My 12 year old daughter reminds me everyday, “Mom, it’s not like it was when you were a kid. We have a lot of things we have to deal with that you didn’t.” And I have to agree with her. We are parenting in a new age - and this podcast is focused on the challenges today’s parents are dealing with. This program offers practical and insightful strategies to parenting, that are focused on strengthening the whole family. The interdisciplinary approach allows the listener to learn from three different perspectives - a pediatrician, a psychologist and a pastor. I especially like that these men are engaged fathers who know the challenges of raising healthy kids in today’s world.
