Stories Mother Told: African Folktales

23

Stories are a big part of the African culture and growing up in the city of Port-Harcourt, these stories shaped my childhood. Times are different now and these bedtime stories which were passed down through generations are not as popular with children as they once were. This podcast aims to bring these stories to the new generation of African children and introduce everyone else to these wonderful stories from the motherland. The lessons and values learnt from these will never be forgotten. Welcome to Stories Mother Told.

    Love these stories!!
Have been listening to this podcast with my son for a few months now and we absolutely love it! The stories are the perfect length and age-appropriate for a 6yo. We have a great time talking about the lessons from the stories and retelling them to each other at bedtime or while traveling. We listen to them over and over again. The narrator’s voice and the background music are just perfect. I’ve listened to all the folktales podcasts for kids I can find, and this is one of the VERY BEST. Thank you so much for this wonderful tool that helps me share our African culture with my child, highly recommended!!
