    Elle Simone Scott is stellar
It’s clear her background on social work makes her an outstanding and natural interviewer. Hearing an already amazing person teach me names in food world is why I keep coming back for more episodes.

    Phenomenal interviews and memorable guests!
I have really enjoyed each interview Elle has hosted and produced since the launch of The Walk-In podcast. The stories are a glimpse into many talented food culinarians and food historians in the industry. My favorite podcast to date is with Dr. Jessica B. Harris because she has such a wealth of information about food stories about some of the most important figures in African American culture. I can’t wait to listen to more episodes!

I’m not a chef or a “foodie”, but I loved this conversation and the guests encouragement to treat st your “authentic “ self, accent and all was so nice. I really enjoyed this!

    Moms
I love the conversations that she has with the people she has welcomed to the walk-in like Dr. Jessica B Harris and Susan Vu. Favorite part is her mom voicing the credits.

    New Favorite Show!
I absolutely love the conversations Elle has with her guests. As someone in the food industry, they’re very relatable and insightful. I also really enjoy the format of the show. I’m only four episodes in and I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of the episodes!

    So good
In the wake of so many revelations about food media, it is so nice to hear a food podcast that comes from the perspective of Elle and her guests. The food content is top notch, and the social commentary is also top notch. This is a godsend in 2021.

    Great interviews, great show
One of my favorite podcasts of 2020! Really: Spotify told me it was. I loved learning more about the guests I was familiar with and getting know to know important culinary game-changers that hadn’t been on my radar yet. Elle shines as a host. I’m already looking forward to season 2!
  • lizatarp
    refreshing and wonderful!
The line up of guests is inspiring and varied for a change. I've had many lightbulbs go off while listening. I like the different sections (FIFO etc) and think that structure is fun. Elle is a fabulous host and isn't afraid to be real and get real with her guests. I sometimes feel jaded by this industry, having been a part for decades wearing many different hats, but this podcast is restoring my faith and committment. Thank you! Keep it coming.

    Way to go ATK!
I’ve been an ATK fan for many years. It’s been so wonderful to finally see diversity among the TV talent and this is a fantastic next step. The stories and people highlighted on the show have been inspiring, funny, educational and real. Keep up this important and great work folks! Elle is amazing :)

Such special and thought provoking interviews, Elle is a natural and clearly puts her guests at ease. Can’t wait for season 2!

    Wow
I listened to the first 3 episodes and that was all I could stomach. As a person in the food industry the last 25 years I thought this podcast would be about anecdotal stories and what it’s like to live (and love) the grind of working in restaurants. This podcast is far from that. Not every setback or obstacle in restaurants are due to the color of ones skin, sexual preference or anything else... it’s a tough world for EVERYONE.

    My new favorite podcast

    Balanced conversations
This is a wonderfully relaxed conversation between experienced individuals and I love how the guests interact so warmly with the host, Elle. The balance of food industry ins and outs, social issues, race issues, inclusion, experience, is dope ! Organic and intentional. Not too lengthy either , and I love it from beginning to the end credits featuring Elle’s mom.

    Life affirming
I am half way through the one featured on Proof. Where we are in October 2020, I need something that is appropriately weighty and does not ignore this moment in time. I can tell this will be one of my favorites.

    Terrific and honest
I just love this podcast so much. As a personal chef with no real professional experience I learn so much and am so happy each time I listen to these honest conversations. Keep them coming!

    No thanks
I’m interested in culinary podcasts. I’m not interested in race issues. Not once was there any culinary conversation it was a podcast about race.

    Love!
Great podcast. Thank you for documenting our stories and giving a place to hear them.

    Life giving
This podcast should be mandatory listening for all restaurant owners and managers (and they should leave you a fat tip at the end of each episode). Thanks for doing all the work to make it happen and sharing it with the rest of us! It’s giving me some hope and life!
  • twodogsarebetterthanone
    Bravo!!!!
What a gift to get to listen to these conversations. Elle is such a great host and brings out the best in her guests. Can’t wait for more.

    Fresh & educational
Well done, Ms. Simone Scott! I’ve adored your ATK segments and am so happy you’ve found a new creative outlet through which to connect with us. Ms. Damon, Ms. Zulu, and Ms. Martinez are every bit as articulate, intelligent, informed, interesting, & accomplished as you are. Keep ‘em coming!
  • emily ariela
    listen to this podcast!!!
Elle Simone is one of ATKs biggest treasures. They are so lucky to have her and WE are so lucky to have this podcast from her!! Especially for a place that doesn’t highlight BIPOC staff nearly enough, this podcast is a step in the right direction. If anyone from ATK is reading this—I don’t care how much Elle Simone currently makes! GIVE HER A RAISE!!! There is no doubt that she deserves the world and more and is a HUGE asset to ATK!!!!

    Listen and learn
I am deeply grateful that ATK has stepped up to consider issues of race, class, gender, and other lines of difference and how they collide in the food world. I hope this is a demonstration of sincere work by ATK to be reflective leaders in a moment of national reckoning. And Elle is an AMAZING host!!! I thought she was awesome before but now I’m a true fan girl.

    A breath of fresh air
Features guests of color and from the LGBTQ+ community - wonderful to see that side of the food world represented. Conversations are candid! Really enjoying this podcast!

    Great listening
If you work in the industry or even just like to eat out, you should listen to this podcast. Elle and her guests get REAL about making it in the restaurant industry, especially as women and people of color. Much needed representation is exhibited in this show, not to mention great stories and lessons from Elle and her guests. They go DEEP. Love listening to Elle’s soothing voice...it’s like ASMR!

    Real. Fresh. True.
I am loving how honest, candid and beautifully presented this is. Brava!

I know exactly what you mean...
When you say “the wall slide”. I worked in kitchens during some of my younger years and it was grueling work. The battle between sexes was so emotionally taxing. I loved hearing this conversation between 2 smart women in the food industry. Please do more!
  • MusicalsGuy
From someone who doesn’t like podcasts
I’ve just never jumped onto the podcasting thing—as much as I love talk shows, hearing from experts and regulars alike, I’ve just chosen music as how I spend my listening time away from TV. The Walk-In IS music. It is soothing, it is lyrical, it is insightful, it has a goove. Elle stands alongside artists past and present choosing how to use her voice to share her human experience. Bravo to America’s Test Kitchen for pushing the circle further and including inspiration for all our experiences. ❤️

I have watched Ms. Simone ...
For a few years on ATK and I’ve always been impressed by her professionalism and her talent. My wife and I listen to TWI yestiddy and enjoyed it. Looking forward to more episodes Ms. Scott!

    Real. Relevant.
I love everything about this podcast. The host is real. The guests are real. The subject matter is real. It’s the most relevant podcast I’ve heard all year. I wish I was better with words so I could more accurately describe how important this podcast could be for every American.
  • vokal712
    like it is
Truth telling from a powerful and warm host, who makes space for her guest to be real. This looks like another place to open up the conversation about what happens to people of color at work, to women at work, and lord knows to women of color at work. Beyond that, I feel there's gonna be inspiration and knowhow to be had to help aspiring chefs and professionals of every stripe to make their way in this world. Brava, Elle! So happy for you and happy you're here.

    Truly reflecting “America’s” kitchen
I’ve been a subscriber to ATK for a number of years. Over the last few, there has been a visible effort to make the on-air hosts, shows, recipes and topics more diverse and inclusive. This is a welcome and needed addition. Congratulations to Elle! I’m sure her addition to the ATK family was an important contribution to the organizations growth and progress.

She calls herself the Culinary Oprah and that’s what it felt like listening to the first episode. Elle can deeply connect with her guests and is never afraid to ask the questions we all want to know. She explores the depths of people’s story with grace, dignity, and truth. I’m looking forward to listening and learning the life experiences of the unsung heroes in the Walk-in!
