Long time, first time. I started following Carlye years ago before the podcast, so it was easy to hop on this wild, popcorn fueled train. I've been entertained, educated, and enlightened throughout the years. Couldn't recommend this podcast enough. Are Carlye and I besties? Yes. Is that friendship exclusively in my head because she's so relatable? Also yes.

Although I appreciate much of the content, I cannot stand the intro (helllloooooo). It hurts my ears to listen to, and I often skip forward to the content, admittedly annoyed that I had to do so just to avoid the terrible intro. It’s a big turn-off.

I came here after hearing Carlye on Podcast: The Ride and am sooo glad I did. Very Amusing is SUCH a fun and upbeat podcast as Carlye features actual journalistic insight (and therefore a peek behind the scenes), personal anecdotes, and her real thoughts/experiences in theme parks and the like. Carlye’s podcasting style is upbeat, humorous, and her tone makes me smile. I’ve started including her recommendations on my Google Maps list so that I can check out her picks on my travels. Any theme park fans or world travelers should check this podcast out!

on a d23 kick i listened to a few episodes and it was during a run. a train! on a cruise ship! suddenly i'm booking it with so much enthusiasm due to the energy of the show! i think delight is infectious and its clear that this show is having a good time. makes sense to follow along and get in on the very amusing vibes of the very amusing show!

I’d listen more, but I struggle with the energy (very high, kind of manic?). I wish there were an option to listen to a softened version, one without the exaggerated emphasis on certain words (e.g., helllloooooooo). As noted above, I do appreciate the honest reviews and tips.

I adore this podcast! For the proud theme park nerds and detail-obsessed Disney experiences fan, this is a fine ambrosia of a pod. Carlye is a brilliant journalist, sneaky snack sleuth and has all the go-to tips for every park goer’s perfect itinerary. 5-churro podcast!

Very Amusing is hands down the best podcast when it comes to Disney theme parks, Universal, and just general fun! Do I sometimes refer to Carlye as my friend when discussing with others what I have learned from her? Yes. Have I ever met Carlye in real life? No. Does she still make me feel like one of her besties even though she doesn’t know that I exist, Yes. She just has that way about her!

Would like separate parent/baby-related episodes and baby-free ones so listeners can decide which episodes to listen to regarding those specific topics. Some care very much about parent issues and some do not.

Carlye is a third rate influencer in a crowded sea of influencers pretending to be a “journalist”. Her info is often late or simply incorrect. Completely out of touch with the average Disney park goer.

Carlye is so amazing! As a travel agent, Carlye helps keep me updated on all the newest latest greatest stuff and I feel as if I’m walking through these parks with her! I love that she pops on a voicemail from her mom at the end ❤️ & We all love you John Stamos! IYKYK

Her repeating of herself is not cute. Her screaming into the microphone is not cute. Basically she isn’t as cute as she thinks she is.

Love this podcast, and it just got Very Upgraded with a new fancy microphone. It makes a HUUUUUUGE difference. Glad the podcast is back, love the content, and love listening even more now!

This podcast is simply a must listen to for any theme park lover! I love getting all my news from Carlye - her journalism roots truly shine. We are able to get so much information from her while her humor and personality peers through in a superbly enjoyable format. She keeps every episode super interesting and I love the churros hotline! Came across this podcast after Carlye was mentioned in another podcast I listen to. I am so glad I found Very Amusing! Carlye’s infectious enthusiasm for all things Disney and theme parks makes for an entertaining podcast that I thoroughly enjoy. And Audrey’s call is the perfect ending. Love it!

Carley is such an amazing storyteller! I have a love for theme parks and there is no one I trust more to share her experiences, love and critical opinions. She captivates you with her personality that comes pouring out in every aspect of her show. Carley is always honest and open with her perspective, even when she has a critical view. I know that I can trust the information she shares, and that mixed with how funny and infections her personality are keep me coming back.

Carlye is my go to Disney expert! She clearly loves Disney as much as any of us, and isn’t afraid to give her honest opinions of when Disney is truly magical, and when it falls short. She is also hilarious and entertaining and finds the best stories and interviews to bring to the podcast. I love getting all the up to date info and news (amazing daily D23 expo shows!!) as well as deep dives into Disney details and lore, all in one place! I’ve been listening since the beginning and will listen for many years to come!!

If you like being shouted out by a privileged rich person cosplaying as a journalist for a hobby, this is the podcast for you. If you want Disney info form anyone who goes to parks more than on media days, seek your information elsewhere. It’ll be more current and more honest.

Carlye’s positive energy, infectious optimism and in-depth reporting/research have kept me alert on long drives, upbeat when I’m down and calm when I’m overwhelmed planning a Disney trip. Carlye Wisel is warm, welcoming, and she keeps it real. Her podcasts run the gamut from behind-the-scenes details and tidbits, to fun guests, to theme park how-tos, and everything in between. She gives tons of info to potential guests for how to navigate the ever changing park systems at Disney (ALL of their parks), and yet she is still relatable and worth listening to for veteran park goers as well. She peppers in guests who also have an affinity for all things Disney, Universal, Muppets, and so much more. Her “Helllllooooooo!” at the beginning, and her “See ya real sooooooon” at the end never fail to bring a smile to my face and the podcast pacing is great to listen to while I take a walk. But the absolute best thing about listening to/following Carlye on socials is that she keeps it real. Unlike many others, Carlye doesn’t sugar coat things. Yes, most of her reviews of things are very positive, but she also give you her honest opinion, and that is so refreshing.

I love this podcast because it’s such a great mix of fun information, super interesting guests, and honest conversations about the state of theme parks. I appreciate that it strikes a nice balance between love for parks and calling out what can make the parks more difficult these days. It’s nice to listen to something that isn’t all rose colored Disney glasses and that also isn’t all-out Disney bashing. Carlye is so funny and honest, and I appreciate all the work, research, and time put in to every episode. My favorite podcast to get me through a long run because I get so engrossed in the episodes that time time just flies by!

As a former public radio reporter and producer, I find most podcasts banal. Too many podcasts are simply 2-4 people plopping themselves down in front of a mic and chatting about whatever ping-pongs into their heads. Very Amusing is a breath of fresh, popcorn-scented air. Carlye is clearly a skilled journalist: she can write beautifully, she does excellent research, and her questions are so great I want to leap out of my seat and clap at the giant movie screen that isn’t actually before me. Combined with her obvious love of Disney parks, she brings an extremely well-researched and well-thought out perspective to the Disney landscape. I leave every podcast episode with new information, an invigorated love for Disney parks, and a smile on my face. Well done, Carlye!

I love this podcast! It feels like I’m getting the latest park info from my happiest friend. Her helloooo intro sparks so much joy, as does her sweet relationship with her Mom. It’s also super fun to get the behind the scenes stories and live vicariously through her (and her guests) crazy VIP access to the park. As a person who loves Disney but doesn’t get to go as often as I would like, this makes me feel like I’m still in the know and ready to visit with no notice - no small feat given the constant changes to Genie+ and Lightning Lanes and everything! Love listening to this podcast and learning new things with Carlyle’s guests. Learning about how menus are created for the parks and all sorts of fun Disney/theme park stuff. Also love listening to the calls at the end love hearing Carlyes moms take on the previous episode. It truly does turn my day around to listen to this upbeat podcast.

Wanted to love but just couldn’t, even after attempting to listen to multiple episodes. The vibe is just off and feels out of touch/annoyed/done-with-the-content-but-still-talks-about-said-content-because-it pays-to-talk-about-the-content. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Carlye is such a great resource for Disney news and tips, but on top of that she has different topics than most theme park podcasts, great guests, and I feel like I’m listening to a true journalist (her vocabulary and voice are so perfect for this medium). This one’s different folks, and definitely worth a listen!

Love this podcast! It’s the perfect pick-me-up when you have those post-vacation Disney blues or just need more Disney in your life and are unable to visit the parks. I recently lost my mom, so I get extra joy and comfort listening to her mom’s calls at the end of each episode 💜.

Carlye is in my opinion the best theme park(especially Disney ) podcast to listen to the most up to date news. She explains the ever changing genie + options and offerings. She answers all kinds of questions from us listeners. I followed her advice when i planned my trip to Paris Disneyland and it was amazing. She always has great/interesting guests. Highly recommend

I am a casual Disney/theme park-goer, but this podcast is so much fun that I listen every week! Carlye is hilarious and smart, and she is great at interviewing Disney staff/experts and celebrities alike. The Hidden Mickeys are my favorite episodes but I do love them all. If you’re planning a trip to WDW, Disneyland or Universal, her recent Guide episodes are must listens.

This is everything I could ask for these days! Mini mysteries? Check! Cheese drama? Check! A thorough education about Shrek and how he’s the Jewish hero we’ve needed? Check! In all seriousness though, this is a well produced, thought out, entertaining and heartfelt podcast that I look forward to every week! The only problem is that I’ve gotten my partner hooked and now I need to wait for him to start a new episode!!

Carlye has been my go to for all things Disney and theme parks. Got any burning questions about what is happening in the parks? She is your girl. Carlye is so fun and informative to listen to. She makes such an effort to be sensitive and understanding to all theme park fans and address questions as well as including fun facts and stories.
