PO'd VIPGet on with the news alreadyI love the concept, and really appreciate what you’re trying to do. But it seems like half the time I go to play an episode. It’s all about the who, why or how of the podcast itself. Please just get on with what you said you’ve set out to do.
-
GkorthaseGratefulIt feels like most news outlets these days leave me feeling enraged, whereas Tangle leaves me feeling educated.
-
Dale StrattonLooking forward to even coverageFound you from Blocked and Reported. I am giving five stars in anticipation of both sides being shared. I am definitely conservative but always know I have gaps in my knowledge. Hope you fill them.
-
LaLobClose but not quite middle of the road.Isaac takes the left side on every issue. He even admits that his audience is becoming more and more left leaning and he’s playing into it.
-
CurtfamRationalI am so grateful to have found Tangle. I love how transparent they are. How they say what both sides are saying about a topic, break it down, and then try to give a good dose of reality. It is so important to have a news source that doesn’t try and “convince” you what is right. I want to make my own opinion after learning the facts. Breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work.

Alpenglow1234GratitudeThank you Tangle! I am deeply appreciative of the work Tangle is doing. In the midst of such a polarized time and cacophony of media voices, this podcast has become a touch point of sanity for me. You exemplify the open mindedness, free thought, rationality, and balance that you preach. Thanks for being such a consistent example of intellectual humility and respect. I am regularly challenged by your podcast to consider other sides of an issue that I would not likely consider on my own (not that I always agree, but at least I’m forced to think outside my own box). Please keep up the strong work! We are all better for it. - Nina

Keirasmommy1Just thank you!I am an independent and I have been struggling to find a new source that is not biased liberal or conservative…Thank you for this podcast! The episode on 2/21 really resonated with me and it was like a breath of fresh air to hear someone saying what I’m thinking. I will be subscribing.

CBK98Not ComplicatedPlease stop pretending that the trans issue is complex. That's how we got here to begin with. Men and women are not interchangeable, and no amount of mental illness or "progressive" nonsense can change that. We are literally arguing about reality here, and trying to be accommodating or nice is only aiding the side that stands in opposition to truth.
-
Tb939393FantasticFantastic news source! I love hearing both viewpoints. Even though I am liberal, I do think that in order to achieve their goal, the program may need to try to seek out conservative staff members to ensure continued balance of opinions.
-
Ma JoadInsufferableOur democracy and country are under attack by this president and government and these guys just keep blathering their fair and balanced tripe. I could get that for free from legacy media. Will not be renewing subscription.

RSE*T1/16/25 EpisodeWill Americans be on the hook to pay for the rebuilding of Gaza as well? We’re forced to pay for the destruction & death of thousands of innocent people/children against our will & then ALSO forced to pay for the rebuild while the govt threatens social security due to a lack of funds? Please focus attention on this issue.

d00dles4scienceMy New Favorite News Source!Tangle is BRILLIANT because it focuses on (and does a great job with): - accountability - appears to be genuine/authentic about delivering quality journalism to the public rather than saying whatever brings in the most money/power/attention - no drama/emotion, no fear-based speculation, just evidence-based facts - focusing on the stories that are most important and relevant to listeners - being as balanced and unbiased as possible - presenting information from point of view of both political parties without judgement - trust and transparency - interaction with listeners - always trying to improve - ends on an optimistic note with some fun facts - well produced - accessible - ideal length I feel like I can count on Tangle to deliver the information I need to know to stay informed in a way that is understandable, relatable and won’t leave me feeling unnecessarily overwhelmed, confused or anxious/depressed, etc; I don’t have to constantly be looking out for someone attempting to control my mind. I REALLY appreciate Isaac’s take as it has helped me become a more thoughtful and open minded person, and does a good job summing everything up clearly. I feel more completely informed, as I don’t always get to hear what the other side is saying as I go about my day. This is what the nation and the world needs right now and I try to spread the word to everyone I know! All news media should aim to be like this. Keep up the amazing work, and thank you so much! Peace :)

Holycol50#Some ReliefI learned about this through , ‘ This American Life’. I am hopeful it will provide some much needed relief from the constant barrage of distrust, division, and disillusionment with the state of our country in terms of our politics and overall general well being. Thank you for your efforts and dedication to this. I appreciate it greatly.

JenniferddPlease. Just. NEWS!!As someone who is dead middle, all I (and I think most Americans) want is for someone to just report the freaking news! No personal opinions, no individual “takes,” no snide comments about one side or the other. The entire POINT of the news is for someone to report the facts with no bias - no opinion, good, bad, otherwise. The people listening want to & can ingest information & then make their own minds up about how they feel about what - I DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR OPINIONS!!! I hate I believed what I heard about Tangle being dead center & subscribed too soon.
-
benkotchiWhy I stayI started to listen to/read Tangle because Isaac is from the same county as me. I was raised in lower Bucks and currently live in upper Bucks. I stayed because during the election season, Tangle was one of two or three podcasts/newsletters that I could tolerate. I really appreciate looking at issues from both sides and Isaac’s open and transparent perspective.
-
garbagephonecompanyNo unbiasedTangled is a place that people come to when they want to feel informed without doing the work. As much as they claim the opposite, most of their listeners are people who don’t get a conservative perspective and don’t want to listen to any conservatives. They come here so that they can FEEL informed. Of all the people who claim to be non-partisan, tangled might be the best I’ve read. Listening the the conservative perspective through a liberal filter might make it easier to hear, but it isn’t the whole truth.

IndyAR10The bestAs I write this review, Tangle has officially won a “Shorty” award. Well deserved, because the team at Tangle does great work. It’s news provided without spin, from all sides of the spectrum, and the format is very easy to follow. Language is a neutral as possible, and any opinion provided is stated as such, as not to make an attempt to sway readers/listeners thoughts.

FredK96A Breath of Fresh AirAfter spending the past several years stewing in Never Trump and Center Left media, where, in order to feel informed enough on any particular topic such that I could communicate persuasively with those who disagree with me, I would have to read the same topic in multiple different venues in order to piece together some semblance of what actually happened (versus what I’m supposed to think about what happened), I find Tangle to be an efficient source of independently curated, quality analysis of the biggest issues of the day, presented in a voice that neither outrages nor promises falsely. That said, if the producers are reading this, may I suggest making the middle section of the pod, where the Left and Right perspectives are read feel more conversational (slow it down, describe each POV more fully)? I find rapid fire headlines almost impossible to comprehend in an audio-only medium and, while podcasts are much more convenient for me as a medium (I can drive, workout, etc at the same time), I get more out of your newsletter which tells me that you have some work to do in terms of tailoring your storytelling to the podcast medium. Because the core of your offering is SO important and rare (at the moment, sadly), I’m willing to be patient, but please take a hard look at that Left/Right section and, minimally, slow…it…down. Thanks!
-
PeonyPlanterThe best lack all convictionThere is probably value here but I’m having difficulty getting past the rising intonation, aka uptalk, making many of Isaac’s declarative sentences sound as if he’s questioning the credibility of them himself?
-
bgq69Claims to be CenterBut clearly center left
-
1nst1nctSlow DownI’m glad to be a new subscriber to the pod and newsletter but PLEASE SLOW DOWN. The reason people are commenting that John sounds like AI is because he does, and he speaks way too quickly. What you guys are doing is fantastic work so please slow down your speech - or at least point me to the half-speed button on my phone :)
-
CMP9 XRobot podcastIt sounds like AI is reading the news on this podcast. Please get real people to deliver the news from the right and left.
-
BK-AvsMy favorite news podTangle has replaced my other news pods because it does an excellent job following through on its mission statement: presenting views from across the spectrum, independent thinking, and avoiding the hysterical nonsense that pervades most of our political media. Thanks Isaac and co.! Adding here that the Sunday Pod is so much fun, I love listening in on Isaac and Ari’s political discussions!
-
stoutbrCloser to fair and balancedYes, I’m very left and I also love the Daily Show, but that’s comedy/tragedy. I appreciate the sincere effort to present the ways biased sources (left and right) report the news. It’s a good way to try to understand how other groups see things, at the least. Surprise your bigoted uncle at Thanksgiving! Haha
-
Schwizz - HaakonGet ur news here (period).Don’t be told what to think. Hear perspectives from both sides and from Isaac and form your own opinions (or remain ambivalent on tough topics!). Hands down the best source to escape the echochamber, cannot endorse Tangle highly enough.
-
horizonriseJust the FactsI love how objective they are. It’s very helpful to get just the facts on current events.
-
GettawaygalExcellent Effort to Present Context and PerspectiveAs a voracious, consumer of print and other information, I appreciate Isaac’s in-depth approach to topical issues, especially his sincere attempt to present context and perspective from all sides. A breath of fresh air in the media world.
-
tenabena59Great!Balanced, both sides explored, not something available from any of the major networks.
-
InSearchOfSanityReasonable. Rational. Respectful. Balanced. How many times can you say that about a politically oriented editorial team? Tangle stands out from the crowd because it is more interested in making a difference than being right. If you are one of the 67% of voters who “support political compromise” (Hidden Tribes) or the 72% of Americans who don’t see American democracy “working properly” (Pew) then this is one of the very few platforms that honor that.
-
Lost¬-foundDon’t stress great podNice work! Heard the worry and just wanted to say I’m a fairly new listener, heard you on Ravi’s pod. Great job. Not that you care what a random listener’s opinion is but speak your logical conclusions. Watch for feedback but don’t let it rule you. Also producer (John?) might need one more coffee before he reads the news stories, just a kind suggestion :)
-
SoxfanindanOkThey do a good job giving both sides but clearly he is left when giving his take. Hard to listen when you can’t debate. Update. This is a not non partisan. They do tell you what the right is saying but his take is always left. If you are on the left you will enjoy this podcast if not don’t waste your time.
-
Cactus ShadowBest Balanced News Podcast AvailableThis is the top balanced news podcast available in terms of quality, relevance, and accessibility. Always the first news podcast I listen to before anything else. And the intro music is the bomb…you have to hear it to know what I mean. It actually makes me dance.
-
chrlz52THE most thought-provoking news/current events resourceCurrent events presented with consummate integrity and clarity from every perspective worthy of consideration on any given issue.

🤨🤨🤨🤨💭“Neutral” but clearly favor Palestine genocideIf you look at the title and description of the Nuseirat Massacre episode, you need not look further than Tangle to find another entity supportive of the Palestinian Genocide.
-
C-Squared 2A balanced source for a busy momI love the Tangle podcast because, as a working mom, I don’t always have time to sit and read the newsletter. But I can listen to the pod while I work and get the news and viewpoints I need to put it all in context. Keep it up, y’all!
-
Sophie3193077Consistently excellent contentThis is the only show I can recommend to everyone. Tangle isn’t gimmicky, it’s authentically engaging different viewpoints.
-
Skydesign369Bring Issac Back for the right and left takes at least!!!The original format of this show was not confusing !!! Issac, you’re great and I like hearing you report on the right and the left and your own take!! The other guy is fine, but the personal integrity of you as the host and leader of the pod works better. It’s more authentic !!! If you want to be a news network , then take away the authenticity . We need a new Walter Cronkite and giving the news over to someone else rings hollow to my ears . If you want to bring in the writers or others on the show, do it as a discussion . This is my take ! Steve King Los Angeles

calyypso2The UndecidedsI love Tangle generally, but the Undecideds episodes have been a bit of a disappointment. They’re interesting, but I would prefer more probing questions, more background analysis, and more comparisons among undecided voters, vs just letting them talk. Compare with The Run-Up.
-
StarSharonFantastic. Should be in the top ten podcasts. This podcast is well done and gives perspectives about subjects from all sides. The podcast needs to advertise on other podcasts so more listeners can find out about it. It's a hidden gem.
-
Billy FlemingThis is what journalism should beIsaac does deeper-dive analyses on one major headline each day, presenting facts, known liberal and conservative spin, and his own opinion where he acknowledges his own biases. It has made me feel like I have the full context in about 10-20 minutes. Tangle is overall just rational. While I don’t always agree with Isaac’s Take, I always respect where he is coming from and understand his logic. 10/10. Recommend.

MeNoelleWay overdue! Grateful for this podI’ve been a subscriber to the Tangle newsletter for a couple years, when I was looking for news sources that aren’t slanted, and that represent middle America, which is where most of us live. Can’t someone just explain the news? The best part of Tangle is when they explain “what the left is saying” and “what the right is saying.” It offer perspective you’ll find no where else. This pod is the perfect complement to the newsletter and my morning routine!
-
Buongi mamaGreat balanced podcastI HATE listening to or reading the news. That is, I did until I found this podcast. It is so refreshing to get both sides of the story with a hopeful cast. Thank you so much!!
-
exchargerHosting O’Reilly Elevates Him and Denigrates TangleOtherwise a 5 star podcast. I love Isaac’s willingness to consider all viewpoints. That said, Bill O’Reilly has earned a well deserved exile in the wilderness. Between the credible reports of serial sexual exploitation and his dated retrograde conservative viewpoints, he doesn’t merit time on this highly credible podcast. There are a multitude of modern conservative thinkers who are much less morally bankrupt. Please do better.
-
sdkitergirlLove this podcastI feel like there are some, sound, original view points.

AnnR1734Become informed, not polarizedI’d gotten to the point where I had pretty much given up reading / listening to the news because it was so biased and polarized and I could feel it impacting my mental health. Then a friend recommended the Tangle newsletter. I’m now informed but in a balanced way that lets me truly understand issues and come to my own conclusion vs. one that “my tribe” is trying to scare me into. This is what journalism was meant to be. Thank you, Isaac!
-
chicagoanlistenerExcellent journalismThe best journalism! Very happy that I found this podcast! Balanced and thorough!

LB passengerShould be required reading!I actually prefer Isaac’s information in written form rather than the podcast, but could not give this any less than five stars! I lean left, but mostly appreciate Isaac‘s coverage of the rights take on each issue. I already know what “my side” is saying, and if I rely on left-leaning sources to tell me what the Right is, saying, it will generally be the outrageous and absurd comments. Tangle presents the rational and thought provoking takes, and shows me that things are not as black-and-white as we are led to believe. Sometimes I actually come around to agreeing with those on the right about certain issues, and I can’t say I have ever done that before. I am seriously trying to figure out how to draw friends and relatives from both sides of the political divide to subscribe to this feed—and this will feel even more important as election season rules on. Keep up your good work!
-
pew65Great podcast! They do a great job presenting all sides. Well worth the listen
-
Joel_near_CincinnatiBoth sides - Finally!I consider myself a conservative and can’t stand watching the leftist media (ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, etc), but since the 2020, I haven’t been able to tolerate the intolerance from the “right-wing” media. I still need the news and Issac Saul reads through it all to bring it to me one issue at a time for free 🤑
