sarah.214hard to listenI liked the idea of this pod, but the execution makes it tough to listen to. It often comes across snarky, judgmental, and hypocritical. They talk about how unqualified other people are to give health advice and put out supplements, but they do the same thing. They make fun of fitness trackers until they hop on the bandwagon for a sponsor. They seem to equivocate “wellness” with morality and it’s very strange.
-
Agibby98Mostly good! Worth a listen.Bad: PLEASE upgrade your audio… I am constantly maxing out my volume because audio is so faint. Good: I find a lot of the topics this podcast covers very interesting. I don’t listen into “tone” nor do I read much into what I see other reviews stating to be “contradictory” or “snarky” vibes in the podcast. Interesting stuff!! Don’t read too much into it!
-
short.round.Please stopYou are incredibly judgmental and not even accurate with the things you talk about
-
juliaiselfeels like two mean girls made a podcastThe delivery of this podcast feels so rude and stark (if it’s intended to be for humor ??? not sure who’s finding this funny) and really demeaning, especially the recent 7/31/23 episode running through health and wellness certifications. I’m not sure how or why you’re accredited to give the advice you do. This episode specifically makes it seem like certifications and coaches/specialists, even naturopaths, are just unfounded and not professional (even though they are…) just because some of these businesses and professionals are based online. I feel like I just got bullied by two mean girls after listening this lol
-
gracediekmanNot sure about this onemaybe not everyone needs to have a podcast 🤷🏻♀️
-
Beanz_42069UnbearableI wanted to like this but after trying to listen to three episodes their delivery comes off as so rude sometimes. Kate-drop the snarky attitude, you aren’t the expert you claim to be. This left a bad impression and I won’t be a listener again.
-
tillytilly321Raw milkI’d love to see these ladies’ credentials and why they think a couple of fashion degrees qualify them to talk about complex topics they truly know nothing about. Encouraging their audience to drink raw milk???? There’s a reason we’ve been pasteurizing milk for centuries. Bunk health theory after bunk health theory and clearly just an outlet to get money through pushing useless powders like athletic greens. These two take advantage of their young, trusting audience and it’s pretty egregious. It’s just Gwenyth Paltrow in a bucket hat
-
jilliansmith.rdRecommending it to everyone!!This podcast is perfect for someone who lives + breathes gut health. I love Kate and Emma’s no nonsense approach to health and wellness. It’s a great listen — cannot recommend enough!
-
flubex11HypocriticalSo in every podcast they get angry at people who give out wellness/nutrition advice without qualifications, then they go and do the exact same thing? Their info is often incorrect but they present it like they are 100% sure of what they’re saying.
-
KaaaaayyyyyjouLOVE!I’ve been listening to this podcast for years & I love it! I’ve learned so much about wellness & love the honesty in their content. I look forward to listening to their podcast every week!
-
AnnieglavanSo fun!Love the honest, fun look at the real life of 2 young gals in NYC! Boys, food, college, supplements, staying in shape, career hopes and just life ! Listen - it’s great! Um - try to make peas with baked potatoes mashed up together - if you know you know!
-
soupfangirlunpleasanti really want to like this podcast. The hosts (especially kate) are just grating. Their delivery makes it seem like this is all obvious information and that it’s annoying and laborious to rehash. also, they just keep giving tldrs of huberman lab episodes but with less coherence.
-
**PIPMy name is AshleyOmg I love this pod but you need to make it better by talking about a lot of stuff that teen girls (I’m 14) like me wonder about
-
Mee175629orthorexici think it’s time to retire this podcast
-
zayla.carterLove!!I’ve been listening to this podcast for about two years now and I absolutely love it! Honestly I think a lot of the bad reviews are from people who aren’t the target audience and just don’t get it? I’ve been into health and wellness since early college (I’m 25 now) and I totally get the perspective. I also just love the light hearted/memey feel. As someone that’s been in the wellness space for a while I can see why some people might think it’s judgey, but since Kate and Emma have also been in the wellness space for a while I think it just comes from a place of experience. I love all the info and nuance of this podcast but if you’re new to wellness I could see why it would be overwhelming. I don’t think that’s bad. I just don’t think the bad reviews are super fair or accurate. The wellness space is constantly shifting and growing and Kate and Emma do a great job relaying info in a relatable way.
-
nurse meghan.SeaI’ve enjoyed this podcast but in recent episode they referred to “people from the Midwest” in regards to people who don’t understand health/wellness. It was kind of off-putting to me.
-
Lili_____Kate, please listen to these reviewsI really love the actual information discussed in the pod, and you guys have good chemistry together as podcasters which is crucial. However, I’ve read other comments about Kate coming off as really judgemental and acting superior to others who know less about wellness, and I have to say I completely agree. In one episode she even compared her and Emma to “regular people” insinuating that they’re above the average person just because they’re able to lead lives that revolve around health & wellness. There becomes a point where sarcasm is just too negative and frustrating to listen to. Please listen to this advice, if you acted less full of yourself it would improve the content so much; having humility is much more on par with wellness.
-
Sarah937381ED rhetoric masquerading as wellnessAnother example of the wellness space being focused around sanctimonious restriction and thinness.
-
NeeeliiiefED more than health/wellnessI only listened to really early episodes but was super uncomfortable with the way food was discussed. This kind of content can give how-to instructions for food restriction/obsession to younger listeners. I like the concept but I didn’t like the show.
-
lddkfndjekdkdgoodbye for nowunfortunately I have to unsubscribe. I loved this podcast when it started but as it’s continued, it seems like Kate in particular doesn’t appreciate the responsibility of being a health educator. She delivers all of her information has with the tone of a teacher who is frustrated with the class, and instead makes snarky comments all the time about having “already covered this in a previous episode” like she’s angry at us for daring to waste her time with our questions. I wish we would hear from Emma more, because I really like the way she delivers information and she seems much more sympathetic to the audience and the various stages of knowledge they’re at, but it honestly seems like Kate dominates 80% of the podcast conversation. It’s a shame because I love the community surrounding the pod and really enjoyed the early days before the fame. I just hope Kate takes a step back soon and recognizes that her status as a ~health goddess~ doesn’t give her a right to act like a know-it-all, and acknowledged the kind of responsibility that comes along with being a health & wellness influencer especially to an audience of younger women.
-
maddie.wwhole foods is not accessible to everyonei really want to like this show i REALLY do! but i get taken aback when they discuss all the extra supplements i need in my life and grocery runs to whole foods when in fact that is way too expensive for the average american and inaccessible if you live in a food desert. instead of having wellness founders on the podcast, it would be way more insightful to have indigenous people talk about traditional ecological knowledge and being connected to nature as a way of wellness rather than promoting products such as moon juice.
-
Racibahrout of touchBeen listening to this podcast for over a year. It used to be much more relatable and relevant to the sea moss girlies audience. Now all i see with these interviews with CEOs is the hosts trying to network and build their credibility with the "wellness space" as they start their own brand, while in the process leaving behind their core audience of young girls and women trying to learn about health topics and get everyday advice from Emma and Kate. It's even more classist feeling than it was before. Return to your roots girls
-
MiaM707The only thing better than a dessert potato is this podcastThis podcast is the peak of my day. The minute I turn on an episode I know I’m about to laugh and dissociate for the length of the episode. Literally the only reason why I haven’t completely sworn off “wellness media” is because of this podcast because it is seriously just honest and truly informative. I recommend this to EVERYONE.
-
c_wilson_0010Fun but at times hard to listen toThis is a fun podcast and great for those interested in health in wellness. It can be really hard to listen to at times because almost every other word Emma says is “like” which is distracting and sometimes takes away from the message she is trying to convey.
-
KayleeRae92Love the guest episodesI love that you’ve been bringing on guests, and the real talk episodes where you just talk about funny relatable wellness things. I’d love to see future episodes where you bring on expert guests who specialize in the research around gut health, eating disorders, nutrition, sports medicine, etc.
-
sanfranciscorunnaSooo contradictoryI’m happy for Kate and Emma that they’re pursuing their passion but wow this podcast is so unbearable sometimes. They contradict themselves so frequently and criticize trends that they themselves took part in, it’s so odd! They talked a lot about how stupid it is to use clorophyll drops yet they mentioned in early episodes that they did it too. They talk about body checking, yet Kate posts videos bodychecking all the time! Besides that, they simply come off as so uneducated sometimes. Mispronunciations, unchecked facts, etc. again I’m glad that they’ve found a channel to talk about “wellness” but don’t listen for actual advice of expertise.
-
baileyandthebearmy wellness bestiesKate and Emma do the reading up on wellness topics so I don’t have to. I have learned so much from this podcast and love their dynamic.
-
lynziesummerin my wellness god eralove this pod, absolutely inspired me to begin on my wellness journey. emma + kate make wellness topics feel accessible, which i truly appreciate. obsessed !
-
lucy c pYASdon’t even know what to title this, but kate and emma have such a great way of talking about wellness in a way that isn’t elitist, triggering, or annoying lol. they’re so fun and have such a great way of being informed while also being so funny. 💕💕
-
bvalidoObsessed! This is BY FAR my favorite podcast!!! Emma and Kate make it feel like I’m on a phone call with sisters :’) I’m so so happy I began to listen to this podcast 🤸🏻♀️✨ Can’t wait for what’s to come!!!!
-
BlabberMouthaLOVE LOVE LOVEi love kate and emma’s approach to wellness!! it’s evident they work really hard on their podcast and care about their listeners!! it’s refreshing to listen to my generation’s perspective of health. 💖
-
Georgia😀i <3 sea moss girliesthe highlight of my tuesdays. love tuning in each week to listen !!
-
ttyllylasI’m really trying hereI keep revisiting this pod because sometimes I do find valuable information and appreciate their political and sustainable considerations. However, I can’t shake the feeling that Kate and Emma are ultimately hyper judgmental and would scoff at someone like me that’s interested in wellness but also ate Taco Bell on Saturday. I’m also 27 and they continuously bring up how their pod/community is for young, college age people which feels alienating.
-
sara pegUh like, so terrible, like, uh, like, no thxHoly heck, between the air-headed way these two talk, with profanity and every other word being “like,” it’s insanely difficult to get through even 20 seconds of this “podcast” without getting annoyed and feeling my brain cells dying. Maybe that appeals to some type of person, but in the world of health and wellness, I’d rather hear someone who sounds intelligent instead of the opposite. Hard no on this one. There are so many good podcasts in this niche, so don’t waste your time with this one.
-
🌵✨💖Needs more practiceI love the girlies and I tune in every week while on my walk. Something I’ve noticed recently while listening, the pod feels a little messy. It sounds unrehearsed and a lot of definitions and details skip out because they’re trying to over-simplify. Also, they need to properly cite their sources and recommend resources for further individual research. It would be awesome if they would include more book recs or a reading list. I love the memes btw, it really makes the pod stand out to me. <3
-
hollowsolsticekind of annoying girls but good info.sort of annoying voices, says cringey phrases a lot, audio quality not great. wish they would leave out the part where they chat about their personal life at the beginning… no offense it just doesn’t really go with the podcast imo. also i feel like the research is a little basic but it’s all right
-
StarrfactorEntitled and insufferableShe doesn’t have ANY point of view. She’s just a bad person with literally nothing to offer. Don’t care if she lives or d*es
-
ruthiehall6Nothing interestingAlmost any information they provide is no more than a basic google. All the products they mention are expensive and they don’t take into account whatsoever that some listeners might not be able to afford the most expensive supplements. I’ve listened to 3 episodes and I feel like I never learn anything. I get excited about the titles of episodes because it’s a topic I want to explore, but they’re not very informative if you have already have a basic knowledge about supplements. Not very interesting
-
ajdhdhdbssea moss girlies are the best girliesI absolutely love this podcast. Emma and Kate are helpful and funny, super educational and caring. The perspective that they bring to the wellness space is so important. Always acknowledging their privilege and educating the girlies in a well rounded way that is respectful to everyone. Seriously it’s the best
-
Amy¥%Good, but Gen-Z Goop-yI like this podcast a lot. It’s intelligent and fun. There are a lot of great recommendations—I have started making PB&J sweet potatoes and never looked back. But I think the premise that it’s “anti-Goop” or “the middle income, everywoman’s guide to accessible wellness” is just not true. There are tons of brands mentioned, and none of them are cheap. The idea that Kate and Emma are somehow more in tune with the financial realities of the everyday person who just want to stay healthy is also not really true. It would be interesting to have an episode of this podcast that was more based in lower-middle class realities: like, how to be a wellness god on while on unemployment benefits, or if you have a $10 a month budget for activewear, or a minimum wage job. I feel like until this demographic gets representation in wellness podcasts, they will always be niche, never really relatable to most, and just a (super fun to listen to, addictive) podcast version of Goop for the next generation, with Gen-Z substitutions for all the Goop-recommended brands.
-
victoriaa lBest podcastThis podcast is easily the most relatable, yet well researched and informative health podcast out there! Kate and emma perfectly blend scientific research with personal experience and anecdotes, along with important criticisms to the traditional “wellness” industry as we know it. MUST listen!!
-
lissathe app reviewerListen you won’t regret it:)Amazing podcast, very relaxing easy way to learn some new things.

-
Shahdin :)A gateway to a more educated selfI’ve always been passionate about environmental issues, wellness, etc. but I’ve had a hard time being consistent with my endeavors. However, I started listening to this silly little podcast on a walk one morning last year and I haven’t stopped since. Emma and Kate’s podcast feels like I’m just on a three way call with a couple close friends, but in reality I’m learning so much and becoming a much better and more educated person. Love the show!!
-
Lynette :)Supportive communityI love the community aspect of this podcast! <3
-
Mickey Holmes EDCWellness Made FunI love this pod, Emma and Kate produce such good content that’s digestible, informative, and entertaining. Honestly, I have had such a hard time getting myself into wellness prior to the start of this pod because it just was so dry and boring but since this content I’ve had a lot more fun on my own wellness journey:) thanks bestie Emma and Kate
