    Not all that mysterious
This podcast lures you in with false information then gives you the real deal about 4 episodes in. This girl was not what she was made out to be in the beginning- granted, it’s still terrible she’s gone, but it’s not half as mysterious once you hear the circumstances of her life at the time and the suicide letter.

Interesting story, can’t get past the narrators
The narrators tone and presentation is really hard to listen to. It borders on condescending and almost how a grown up would read a bed time story. Wanted to listen to this story but cannot get past how it is narrated.

I live in Cape Coral and want to help!
Not sure who to contact but I would love to do what I can to help. I live in Cape Coral and have most of my life. I don’t want to message the family online but if you see this and need more help, find Jess Stella on social.

    Wonderful coverage
This podcast tells it all while remaining respectful to the victim and keeps it compelling. I always dive in for more!

    A sad story
A very sad story, but it strikes me as irresponsible to publicly name all these family members and others close to Lauren and heavily imply that they had something to do with her disappearance. I also felt unnerved by the slow, sing-song narration, as if speaking to a small child. It just doesn’t fit the subject.

Wow. What a great and well-told story and podcast
This is a hidden gem…the story is tragic, but told in such an amazing way that you can’t help but binge it. I’ve seen commentary here that it’s misleading, but the hosts tell you up front that they are going to tell the story how they were told the story, so I can’t imagine how they felt when they learned everything that happened. Nice that they brought us all along for the ride. Can’t recommend this podcast enough!

    Misleading for several episodes
The podcast misleads the listener for several episodes about who the victim is and then trots out very important details leading up to her disappearance. They try and convince you that the only possible outcome is foul play before mentioning VERY important info about recent events in the victim’s life. I was somewhat offended that the reasoning is that you may not feel sympathy for her if you weren’t invested already. My sympathy is the same whether she met foul play or had a mental health episode or overdosed on drugs. The point is she is missing and this podcast is just a mess trying to make a murder mystery.

    Very misleading
For the first few episodes Lauren was painted as a “mother”, good girl, hard working. To me a “mother” raises a child. Lauren: -lost custody which is pretty extreme. -did drugs -was hospitalized for mental illness. She opted to move near her mother who also lost custody of her, a fall down drunk…and a loser live in boyfriend. *** My heart goes out to the family BUT this is NOT and average “lady”, someone doing all of this runs in dangerous circles. Not a “Lacy Peterson” type who was leading an innocent life. No one deserves to disappear but Lauren was leading a shady life. *Someone buying heroin can be killed and dumped at a drug deal or more. Very sad for families. *I'm still wondering why that sex ring was not explored more. Her fast food job and guys who trafficked women…..too coincidental?! Excellent production, great voice and professional host but again, someone who lived dangerously.

    Great podcast!
I’ve heard about this case before, but this is by far the most comprehensive deep dive that I’ve found.

    Informative
This was a very informative podcast. I really liked it for the most part, but a couple of things really bothered me. I hated that there were ads right in the middle of sentences. Also, the hosts sounded like they are narrating an episode of Desperate Housewives, which I personally did not enjoy.

    A Chilling Mystery
There is a mystery behind the disappearance of Lauren Dumolo, a 29-year-old woman who vanished from her home in Florida in June 2020. It is an open case that has turned up more questions than answers. This podcast is incredibly well-produced and features soundbites and interviews from friends and family. It has a professional quality that puts me in mind of the show 60 Minutes.
  • maccha11
    Well done… but
Fantastic podcast; I love that you go into all of the details while still respecting Lauren’s family and their privacy. I appreciate you taking the time to let Victor give his side of the story; I feel like he got the short end of the stick in some of the early eps (though I think he knows more…). My only complaint is that the commercials come in at weird times and sometimes cut off the people being interviewed. 😬

    Stigma be damned
I just wanted to say to all the people that commented about her being a “junkie” and not worthy of this podcast I pray you never have to deal with the stigma of substance use disorder in your perfect lives. Just because Lauren struggled with a disease does not make her anything less of a person. She was someone’s mom, daughter, sister etc if she had aids, cancer or heart disease would that make her less of a person? Lauren was a beautiful soul that may have struggled thanks to doctors over prescribing pain pills but regardless was a human being that did not deserve what happened to her. Please stop judging when you have no idea of the pain people struggling go through and educate yourselves. This was a very well done podcast to bring awareness and help and healing to a family that lost a beautiful soul for no reason.

SUBOXONE is NOT GOOD FOR GETTING OFF DRUGS!
I’m not sure if any of Lauren’s family is aware of this but I work at a rehab and we have people who are addicted to us ozone strips now and it’s worse that whatever brought them in to begin with. We’ve also seen overdoses. Just a heads up, it’s terrible for recovering people. SUBOXONE makes people feel high like heroin does

    Great
Podcast does a great job giving details around this case and explaining all the moving pieces. I live in Cape Coral and although I never knew Lauren, she is obviously an amazing human and deserves to be found now. Prayers for her and her family. For those judging Lauren for her life, let’s not pretend we all don’t have struggles. No one deserves to go missing without a trace.
  • Ganderson67
    Compelling and thoughtful
The passion for this case resonates from every word. Hilary and Caitlin have told the story of Lauren’s disappearance with grace and insight. Share and share again. Someone is complicit.

    Must listen!
I don’t remember how I came upon this podcast, but I’m so glad I did. They cover the case with respect and know how to balance keeping listeners intrigued. I enjoyed the format and listening to all of their interviews. I hope that this podcast helps to find answers for Lauren’s family, and ultimately, find Lauren. I hope that they do another season to bring attention to bring attention to missing individuals.

    Compelling and tragic
Well researched and such a heartbreaking case. Unbelievable that the cops said that it would take too long to go through the video!! Isn’t that your job? If the police in the Brian Shaffer case in Ohio could go all the video of the bar and determine that everyone who went in went out except for Brian - why can’t the police on this case do the same? Doesn’t Lauren deserve that? To me all things lead back to Gabby and Victor, not the 3 suspects mentioned. I hope the family gets some answers. Great work on this podcast. Compelling and heartbreaking.

Complicit podcast is very well done. I started bingeing after starting the first episode. Lauren’s family needs justice and this podcast works hard to share the facts in order to give the family the peace they deserve. Katherine -A Few Bad Apples

I’m so grateful this story is being told and being told so well. You ladies did an awesome job at painting a picture of who Lauren’s is and what may have happen to her. I’m on the edge of my seat listening to this story and can’t wait for the next episode. I also want to say I read the bad reviews on this podcast and I couldn’t disagree more. I this the ladies did an awesome job at laying out the facts in this case. Very well done

    Bad Delivery
I often only leave 4 or 5 star ratings, without leaving a written review, for the many true crime and American history podcasts that I listen to. However this time I was compelled to explain the low rating. I barely made it 10 minutes in before I had to turn it off. The story is delivered in a sing-song way as if the host is reading a book out loud to a room of 5th graders. It was unbearable! I prefer my podcast to be delivered straight forward, normal adult voices, and information forward…with a little host personality thrown in. This sounds like it could be an interesting story, but I will have to research it online and read it for myself. I’m too old to be interested in being read a bedtime story.

    Misleading for clicks
They lead with a caring, hardworking single mother who just disappears. You hear clips of supposedly caring family and friends. You invest your time and 5 episodes in the big reveal is this woman made trash choices, was on and off drugs, lost custody of her kids, continues to get pregnant, and is surrounded by enablers. They tease you by making it seem like her boyfriends or mom is the problem. Every missing person case is important but Occam’s razor needs to be applied here. This woman’s life was a mess. It’s not hard to conclude what happened to her without this podcast misleading listeners on this being a “true mystery”. It’s not. If someone did something, absolutely they should be held accountable. But fooling listeners for 5 episodes is absurd. I gave up.

    Mixed review
I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts so I felt compelled to leave a review on this one. Please note that I will be speaking of spoilers. This story involves a girl with a big history of heroine drug use, legally lost custody of her child and has a mental health problems. Her biological mom is also an alcoholic. So the podcast should have started with this information before they finally tell you in episode 5. A buildup of “where is Lauren” (which is repeated over and over) misleads you by the time you hear of her current life, her drug use and the unsavory characters in her life. Are you surprised she went missing? No not really. There is also a great deal of family trying to down play her drug abuse, blaming reasons why she is on drugs or why the mom is an alcoholic. Where is the accountability?

    A welcomed addition!
We found this by accident but got hooked. My wife and I love these types of stories. This is very well done and keeps us wanting more!

    Irresponsibly produced
(Spoilers below). This show begins with an ordinary woman who disappears. The narrator reports cliffhangers about her cell phone, her boyfriends suspicious behavior, even throws her alcoholic mother under the bus as a potential suspect before revealing in episode 4 that this girl was making some seriously bad decisions on who she was hanging out with. Episode 5 goes on to reveal that Lauren was having psychotic episodes so bad that she was hospitalized against her will. Then the narrator reveals they’ve been lying to you all along! She lost her cell phone swimming through the lake during a psychotic episode brought on by abortion meds— the producers knew that all along. Withholding of critical information in an active missing persons case so that you can build a profitable podcast by casting the victim’s loved ones as suspects is gross. Furthermore, they leave out Lauren’s personal demons until episode 5 because the listener is essentially signing up for a case where an ordinary girl goes missing… What follows after a 5 hour investment in the podcast is the big reveal that Lauren is involved with 2 men (one of which has had 2 under aged girls DIE at his home from overdose), that she suffers from addiction to heroin (just like the boyfriend reported in episode 1 when they paint him as the killer), that she’s hallucinating from abortion meds, and that she has a warrant out for assault. Every single missing person’s case has value, but the producers seriously skew the storytelling to benefit themselves. They brutally throw family members under the bus for the disappearance before revealing in later episodes that they were withholding known evidence. It’s simply a mess. This is the first true crime podcast I’ve heard that is not clearing suspects in real time, but simply withholding information from the listener to build suspense and sell ads. Irresponsible reporting and additional suffering for the survivors in this case. Bad form.

    Binge worthy
Where is Lauren?! No, but really? There are so many true crime podcasts out there, but this one truly stands out with its storytelling and production quality. Am very anxious to see how this whole thing turns out and am praying for the family to find answers.

Add to “play next” or podcast library!
I have listened to so many true crime podcasts so I went searching for a new on. While swiping through many “more like this” options I found this one... and I’m glad I did! I’m surprised it hasn’t blown up and doesn’t have many reviews because it is SO good. Very informative, great story telling, and strictly investigative. I’m not a fan of the true crime podcasts that use comedy and goofy narrators.. and thankfully there’s none of that on this podcast. Keep up the great work and hopefully you’ll cover a new story soon!
