    Abide in Me
That’s what comes to mind when I think of this podcast. I’m so grateful for Curt and Pepper’s friendship through which they share their love for one another, showing how important it is to be vulnerable in order to grow, helping me to truly understand the depth of God’s love for us. I first heard Season 9 and loved it so much I now am listening from the beginning and telling all my friends and family about it. Curt and Pepper share so much knowledge, so much humor, so much caring, so much beauty in helping me to ‘discover and explore’ my life ‘hidden with Christ in God.’ Curt and Pepper, I can’t thank you enough.

    Thank you!
Thank y’all for this podcast! I thought it was strange at first, but I really do feel understood and attuned to when I listen. My nervous system settles, and as a therapist, it helps me to show up differently for my clients (through genuine connection versus performance anxiety). Blessings to each of you as y’all continue the work God has ordained.

    Recommend to everyone!
I have been listening to this podcast for over a year and it has become my favorite podcast (out of the many that I listen to!). I have been recommending it to all my friends. Curt and Pepper’s humor and their deep dive conversations into the human heart and the heart of God for us have helped encourage me through a very difficult year, pointing me back to the love of God—especially through the season on beauty and the season on suffering. I also love Curt’s books. Thank you for your work! It is life changing.

    Grateful
There are other podcasts that seek to accomplish what this one does they don’t come close the insight of Kurt and Pepper and the way they connect with each other goes deep and an effective way to present a transforming message. Thank you, Kurt Pepper, and Amy.

    The Most Healing Content
My first introduction to Dr. Curt Thompson was many years ago shortly after his first book, Anatomy of the Soul, was published and he did a workshop on the book at our church in TN. I took copious notes but then years went by and I forgot most of what I learned from him and his book. A few years ago a brain retraining program was recommended to me. It was really helpful, but also had some New Age underpinnings. So in my search for a Christian based brain retraining program I ran across Dr. Thompson’s website and discovered the Being Known Podcast. THANK YOU LORD. THANK YOU LORD. THANK YOU LORD. Y’all listen! ‘Nuff said.

    Insightful, encouraging
I am so grateful for this podcast and for Curt’s books. They have been life changing for me, and I love hearing Curt and Pepper’s discussions about becoming more whole and integrated Christ followers. If I could give 1000 stars I would.

    Engaging Mind and Heart
I am so thankful for every season. Every season has challenged me to be braver and to be willing to think bigger and deeper. I loved when Curt said, “Let’s go get the monsters together.” That gave me courage.

    Life Changing
This podcast has been a steady companion of mine for the last 2 years. I’m so grateful for it and it has a truly immeasurable impact on my life. Thank you for your investment in encouraging me to see beauty, ultimately in the Lord.

    Amazing!
I’m a high school senior planning to study neuroscience next year. How encouraging to hear other believers much further along this path than I am discuss God’s intricate design of our brains! I Learn something new every episode, and I can’t wait to keep listening.

My Go-To Voice of Joy and Wisdom
First and foremost, the bromance joy between Dr. Curt and Pepper is refreshing and really fun to listen to. I laugh out loud every time and then I am hit with deep, profound wisdom—who offers this rare combination on a podcast. In a time of questioning “all things church systems” in my life, Dr. Curt guides me into a much deeper walk of faith. For that, I am most grateful!

    Deep Thinking
Listen to gain perspective and deep insights to your own personal thoughts and learn to live life more fully and intentionally. Of course, I only listen to hear from Pepper! Lol The humor, friendship and deep intimacy that is shared makes me come back for more.

    Time for Beauty SA811
This podcast kept popping up on suggestions. It looked good but I have a small capacity for listening to anything. Then on a troubled evening a couple weeks ago I just did it. It was like walking along the ocean at sunset with a friend, hopeful and seen! I started listening a second time today. I really want to get this in my heart. Thanking the LORD for bringing this my way.

    S7E6 Goodbyes
Wow! As a 65 yr old female military brat, there was never a “Goodbye.” When Dad got orders, we moved. At 27 years old, I had moved 18 times. When I hear you three talk about saying Goodbye and I wonder what my experience has done to my heart over the years. (Not just me, but all military brats.) I would love to hear a bit about how military kids have navigated frequent moves and loss. Thanks for all you do!

    Anchored
While reading Deb Dana’s book, Anchored, I was invited to listen to this podcast. I started binge listening from the beginning and wow! I love the spiritual depth added to what I am learning about my God given nervous system. Appreciate this work so much.

Combining psychology, with faith, & nueroplasticity along with opening up ourselves ( in a safe environment ) makes so much sence! I am very happy my brother turned me on to Curt Thompson MD👍

    Profound teaching
Dr. Thompson has an incredible gift of explicating truth in a manner that brings both light and healing. The season on shame was particularly anointed. I have recommended it to many clients and I’m listening to it again as I read the book, “The Soul of Shame.”. Wow!! Judy Landrieu Klein, PhD Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor

    Loving this!
Can’t help but tell everyone about this podcast. Having gone to a few churches with my husband sharing the redemption of our shame filled story, we find people coming out of the woodwork sharing their own. It is scary to be so open at first…but what a blessing it always is to know a God whose redemption draws us together. So glad to listen to all of your podcasts explaining the way God works to heal our wounds and have such clear examples that hurting people can access to give hope, to show the beauty of our God and how He works to bring that beauty into our own lives.. Reading the book too!!

    So Insightful
I love this podcast and I’m trying to play catch-up because I’m late to the game. I’m only on season three. I have gathered little gems to keep in the forefront of my mind, like looking for beauty, the fact that my neurons grow when someone empathizes with me, and how that connects all of us. AMAZING! There’s so much more to learn in each episode, I’ll have to go back and listen again. I love the relationship between Curt and Pepper, it is a beautiful balance, serious and funny. Can’t wait for the next episode, so I sometimes binge two or three at a time.

    Love this podcast
I absolutely love this podcast. I am at a time in my life where deep friendships and true community is extremely important but is often unexplored. Through this podcast, I have learned much about myself and how to form true connection with those around me.

    Wisdom and Love
I came across this podcast on a day I was feeling so overwhelmed, I am in a crossroad where I am dealing with a difficult situation in my relationship with a loved one. I needed wisdom to help me decide for the coming days, I am searching for a voice to direct me where to go, I am looking for someone to guide me as I go through the difficult and unseen future… I am still in that situation as I write this but I have to say, listening to the episodes about wisdom was very enlightening. I am digging through the old episodes and enjoying every minute of it. So much knowledge and inspiration is being added into my mind as I listen to it everyday. I love Dr Thompson’s (and Pepper too) very soothing voice as he discuss each lesson, I enjoy the deep conversations and how they share their personal stories in each episode. And most of all, I truly enjoy the spiritual connection of each topic they discuss, the more I realized, see and understand how much God loves me. This is truly one of the best gift I got for myself recently as I become officially a member of this CBK community. Thank you Dr Curt for sharing your wisdom and love to the world. May God continue to bless your ministry and I hope I get to meet you in person one of these days!

    Love this team!
Curt, Pepper, and Amy are friends who I would love to hang out with. Thankfully I can hang out vicariously with them this way. They have taught me so much about why I behave the way I do, and why I feel things the way I do. I am encouraged every time I listen to Dr Desire and the Most Beautiful Man in the World. And Amy is the voice of reason! 😁

Beauty filled authentic Spirit led talks…
For the one’s wrestling with doubts, looking for answers and longing for more. This podcast has been transformative for me in so many ways. It’s a challenge to dig deeper in your relationship with Jesus- even when it feels easier to just give up. And a much needed reminder that we are intimately known by our Heavenly Father. That He is actively pursuing us because He loves us like no one else ever will or can. Love love love 💕

    Refreshing
First heard Dr. Curt on Still Coloring with Toni Collier. He was so good I decided to look up this podcast. I was pumped to see there were so many already recorded. The openness and interaction between Dr. Curt and Pepper is so refreshing! I love the conversations and insights these men have over the mic.

    Healing I didn’t even know I needed
After trying a million podcasts I have narrowed down to only a handful that I listen to regularly and this is at the very top of my list. I’ve listened to every episode and most multiple times. Curt’s wisdom and generosity in sharing so vulnerably has opened things for me I didn’t even know needed to be opened so that they could be healed. And the application tools are invaluable! It is so refreshing to see two men modeling for us what it looks like to be lovingly connected to each other and to the Lord. I find their humor to be the perfect complement to this deep healing work. Beyond grateful to the pod team and eagerly await season 6!

    Profound and Applicable Insights
The Being Known Podcast is the most helpful tool you can use for rooting out the hold of shame on your life (besides direct counseling with Curt!). We are all looking for freedom and to bring the goodness and beauty into this world we were designed to create. This podcast will help make that real.

    Grateful
This has become one of my favorite podcasts. I’m so grateful for this Godly information and how it’s taught. It helps me understand so much and is a life changer. Also thank you for spicing it up with a little humor now and then, we need that. May God Bless you and the work you are doing. Grateful!

    Eye Opening
This podcast has been eye opening for me in dealing with shame from past childhood trauma and even some adult trauma.

    Amazing info…but goofy
The info in this podcast is amazing and has been a huge help in growing my understanding of God and the Scriptures. However, a lot of times the hosts’ joking derails the incredibly valuable information presented.
  • bluelove1010
Cheese factor is high with this one…
Hate to say it, because I think this COULD be a podcast that could interest a lot of people, if it weren’t so cheesy, self-advertisement. 👎 Can’t you discuss God without telling me I need to run and find my own pastor. I don’t need to have a pastor to have a relationship with God.

    Soul cleansing
I have learned so much about myself because of this podcast. Curt and Pepper are winsome and wise. I can listen to the hard topic of shame and come away feeling capable of looking deeper into my own story. I loved the last episode of this season very much. I learned the best way to help someone cope with their shame. Now I have more tools to be effective in my life and the lives of people around me.

Fascinating podcast, had to read the book
Honestly I was quickly looking for a new podcast to listen to on a morning run and thought the title seemed interesting so I gave it a listen. the first episode I heard was on chapter 4 of Dr Curt’s book, Soul of Shame. I was so fascinated and could not stop thinking about the concepts, so I ordered the book later that evening. I’ve started reading the book and will follow along with the podcast. So excited to go deeper with you guys. Thank you for a much needed topic and a way to dig deeper!

In The Room Where It Happens!!
I LOVE listening to these men! I love their friendship, their ability to laugh along with their ability to be in tune to one another. If you are human, you can relate. If you have been deeply betrayed or only a little betrayed, they help bring clarity to human responses. If you need help wrapping your mind around how you relate to God (I.e. if you are human), their words speak to this. They love God, they speak compassionately, they aren’t afraid of difficult subject matter, they show their humanness. If you have been hurt, confused, lost, wandering, desperate, angry, lonely and sad, you will find a place to inspire you to ask questions, search with hope, seek beauty and take a step closer to your Creator. They have ministered to my heart, helped me find courage to step out to find a counselor, remember what I need and how I am designed, inspired me to seek God’s beauty. I could go on. Thank you Curt Thompson and Pepper Sweeney for letting me in to a small slice of your friendship and inspiring me (with the help of others) to seek my own help and to seek His beauty in the midst of my briars and brambles in the black of night.

    An Embodied Christian Faith
This pod helps Christians understand the connection between our bodies, emotions and being known by others. They do a great job of showing how science is shown things that the Christian faith already gave words to. Our Brains have been wired for connection to the Lord and others. This a great and encouraging pod.
