Wonderful podcast! So thankful I found it 10/10
As a mom to 3 daughters this podcast is just what I needed. Our youngest recently graduated from college and moved back home and has presented us with some new challenges. This podcast has helped me gain some important insight and perspective and I am so grateful to have found it. There are not a lot of resources for parents of this age group and this stands out as a valuable resource. I learn something new each episode and it is nice to know that we are not alone in our struggles. Thank you!

    Sound is twangy
I like the show but one of the hosts sounds twangy when she speaks. Maybe it’s her room she’s in but it gets annoying and I have to stop listening

    Therapy in a Podcast
I am a mother of 3 adult children, all girls, and this podcast is so helpful…..I wished I had discovered it earlier in their childhood. My daughters ages are 32,29 and 27 and I love them immensely. This podcast has helped me improve my communication with them and overall my relationship. Thanks for what you do!!

    Loved it and learned something!
My children are just entering adulthood, so I thought I didn’t need this podcast…at least not YET!!!, but I always seem to pick up a nugget (or two) of good advice...and I find the topics and discussions interesting and thought provoking. Today I pondered that the thought that one’s sibling relationship is the longest relationship you’ll have. Hmmm, hadn’t thought of it that way. I also particularly enjoyed Carrie Monahan’s advice to approach with curiosity, not judgment. Wow, does she know me??? I’m going to try to practice that. Good job Denise and Ellen! I’m looking forward to future episodes.

    Wonderful Podcast!
I’m a clinical psychologist and mother of two daughters in their twenties. I’m so grateful I found this podcast. First, it helps parents of adult children know we are not alone in struggling to figure out this stage of being a parent. I’ve learned so much from the guests and co hosts. When our kids grow up we have to step back and bite our tongues and well…that can be easier said than done. This podcast really makes it easier to do that.

    Grandmothering
Loved the grandparentimg podcast. I get great delight from my grandsons. Just to see the look on my two-year-old’s face when he arrives at our apartment and sees us is precious. Both grandsons love to sit and dunk a cookie in Granny’s tea. Hope they remember those times when they’re older.

    Liked the episode with Julie
But it seemed like the hosts tried hard many times to get the guest to say something negative about her daughter in laws. That was annoying.

    Brave New Voice on Parenting
This podcast with Denise and Dr. Ellen is inspiring for anyone who is a parent, has adult children and beyond. It can be a tricky landscape to be a parent at any age and the episodes enlighten you. Kudos for taking the brave step to have constructive conversations.

    Terrific!
It’s scary to me to realize the topics I’ve avoided discussing with my “kids”. But the conversations we have had have been great learning experiences for all of us. I’m grateful that my village of other parents includes Denise and her podcast!❤️

I’ve been so looking forward to this podcast debut! I’m the mother of 2 - ages 29 and 31. They are absolutely delightful adults and continue to surprise me every day with how much they know and do. But as you mentioned, there are a few “basics” of adulting that seem to have evaded them. I look forward to Amanda’s book filling in some blanks for all of us. And when to bite the tongue? I’m a questioning and a “fill in the silent blanks” mother, and have learned, as you said, that listening is a better way to learn more about what they’re up to, how they feel, what they want. My husband is much more of a “let them learn by doing (read: make their own mistakes)” and I’ve learned that he’s on to something! Would his/my parents have driven us to sports practices and school events in other states? Would they even have known we were on a sports team? They sure wouldn’t have made a podcast about this topic - Ha! Kudos to Denise, Ellen, and guest author Amanda for a great discussion. I’m certainly looking forward to the next 2 episodes on finances and weddings.

    Still learning ...
My 4 sons are in their late 20’s-30’s and my mothering always came naturally when they were kids. Now I find myself being a bit more cautious when it comes to doling out advice - especially as our family expands to include daughters in law and grandkids! I can’t wait to listen to this podcast - every episode will have grains of truth to keep me on my best behavior 👍🤞🙏🏻

    Bite Your Tongue
What a great topic. I thought that parenting middle school children was challenging but the twenty somethings are an even bigger challenge, probably because I didn’t think about it. I basically thought my “ job” was done after college and I didn’t think about what my role would or should be as my children transition into adulthood. Looking forward to your advice.
