aaksheWOW, I wish this existed when I was in high school!!!I actually had to study The Tempest in college and altho we had a really fun professor and it was a great time, we still had to read the whole book for class. I wish I had this then or back in high school, I think I would have appreciated Shakespeare way moreeee than I did!! I think this is entertaining BUT also a very useful study tool! Thank you for creating the showww!! <3

Andreea94Beautiful storytellingThis show is so well-made! The acting, the soundscape, the stories. I’m a big theater fan but don’t get the chance to go to plays as often as I wish. Play On is always there and really never disappoints!

mspassell4675 stars!!!Amazing sound, acting that will knock your socks off, Play On! is the best modern interpretation of Shakespeare I’ve come across. I cannot believe all I have to do is hit play on Play On! To have the theater brought to my ears! Should be taught in schools. With I had it when I was in high school.

DaschlyExcellent storytelling and adaptationI’ve performed in this play several times so my ears sometimes fought with the adaptation when bits of dialogue were different. However, I appreciated how thoughtfully the adaptation was crafted. The storytelling is crisp and the production values excellently executed. I listened to the entire play while gardening and sometimes closed my eyes to let my imagination align with their design. I thoroughly enjoyed the performances and direction. Well done.

ModuffNot what I expectedI was disappointed that amazing Shakespearian English was simplified, and that the actors had American accents. Not what I expected and not in a good way. Shakespeare shouldn’t be dumbed down for Americans. I was looking forward to episode after episode on a long, interstate drive, but probably won’t go on to Episode 2.

ByeByeBinaryAbsolutely EpicThis series is SO WELL EXECUTED. The storytelling is crystal clear; the sound design is intricate but never distracting; and these bagpipes! I mean come on!!! I have been eagerly awaiting each new episode. This is such an exciting and innovative way to share Shakespeare. THANK YOU!

BLM596AMAZING!I absolutely love this podcast and the ideas behind it. As a soon-to-be official English teacher, I am looking for resouces for curriculum, and this podcast is perfect! It’s entertaining, true-to-the-text, and would be excellent as part of a Shakespeare unit. This is my bid for you guys to continue with the major works of Shaespeare. I have searched high and low for good, modern adaptations of Shakespeare, and this one is the best one yet. Please please please add more plays to share! Thanks!

Anderson SC 01Innovative and exciting!A perfect way to access the work of Shakespeare. The modern translation keeps the rigor and rhythm of Shakespeare, but allows for it to be understood with more immediacy.
-
