Dear Anger

40

Screaming and yelling, fighting and arguing, tantrums and hissy fits. Anger finds its way into every home, classroom, and workplace, and we're ready to talk about it. This limited-run podcast, for humans of all ages, is not about getting rid of anger, but about changing our relationship with it. We share research based solutions for changing the way kids, and parents, respond to powerful, challenging emotions, and we hope you laugh with us along the way. Join hosts Ed Crasnick, a comedian and Emmy Award winning writer, and Renee Jain, positive psychology guru and the founder of GoZen!

    I really needed this
I am so grateful that this podcast exists. I need help but I didn’t know where to start. Renee and Ed have a lot of great insight and their stories and examples are really helpful. I’ve been aware of my problem and I know what I want to work on but I didn’t know where to start. I always beat myself up when I realize I did it again - I reacted the same way I always do and it makes me feel terrible after the fact. I feel guilty I yelled at my kids or my husband and I beat myself up even more. Then I feel frustrated at myself and get even angrier. It snowballs into something catastrophic. Listening to this podcast gave me real life examples and how to change the dialog. I am trying to change my language and taking a breath! I haven’t reached my goal yet but it feels less daunting today than it did yesterday or the day before.

    Thank you!
I have been listening to the Dahlia Lama who encouraged us to, if we get angry, frustrated, etc. really work to understand emotions by doing research to embrace them. So I’ve gone about truly understanding anger and feel so fortunate to have found you guys. Tonight I have listened to almost all of your episodes! I have a daughter and a puppy and can feel the healthy range of anger and tonight you spoke so positively both about the anger and in a couple of episodes really understanding what is happening with our strong willed child, what they’re experiencing, and also how to react to it with breaths and good humor. I can’t wait for you to come out with more episodes!

    This is really helpful!!!
As much as it makes sense it’s so challenging not to get angry and I love all the tips and reminders!!! I hope you will have an episode on sibling rivalry and how not to get angry during those times! Thank you for such incredible content and wisdom!

Positive thinking for an anger person
I’ve found myself in life to be a person who is often angry at everything. I’ve realized through time and therapy that’s my crutch defense mechanism. It’s also become one the most unhealthy way for coping. I love this pod cast. It provides different ways to ‘lean into your anger’ make those extreme thoughts and feelings be positive and to use anger as a way to be more in tune to how you feel 🤷‍♂️. This podcast is a great starting point for those on the journey of making a change in their lives for the better. Thank you ❤️
