Pushing Cardboard

10

Talk about historical boardgames and boardgaming. Tabletop conflict simulation boardgames, from old school hex-and-counter to modern card driven games and beyond. If it's a historical game, a political game, or a wargame, we'll talk about it.

We dive into specific games in detail each episode, with tips on how to play and how the game fits in with other similar games. As well, we usually have an interview with a designer or publisher. And finally, we have news from the history gaming world as well as tips for new players and general chatter about what's happening in the hobby we love.

    WW1 Air Games are great
Excellent show, brought back lots of happy nostalgia for Richthofen War, and Ace of Aces. Thanks for the lead on Eagles in the Sky. I appreciate your efforts to inform and entertain old war gamers like me.

    Fun little hobby podcast
Pushing Cardboard is a fun, low key podcast to listen to Grant talk about what he’s playing, and his likes and dislikes. Not as in depth as some, and the time investment doesn’t seem overly long. I really appreciate that the shows stay focused, and don’t fall into long sections of rambling and bro talk.

On target with his preferences & format
Podcast host Grant plays larger/longer wargames than I do, but in other ways we’ve got much in common. His love for cardboard & hexmaps comes through, and so does his prolific PBEMing via Vassal. Shows are to-the-point, which everyone can appreciate.
